We were in town to visit our son for parent's weekend and wanted somewhere to eat dinner. We decided to try Juannita's. Really glad we did! It is a little family type restaurant with indoor as well as outdoor dining. We were seated right away and our drink order was taking quickly. The chips and salsa were served and were good and crunchy. Our order was taken and the restaurant did start to get busy. Our food came out hot and fresh. I and my daughter had the grilled shrimp and it was tasty and a good sized portion served with rice and beans. My son had the carne arsada and my husband had the tacos with chorizo. We all thought our food was very good. I would recommend Juannita's if you are looking for tasty Mexican food!

It's fine. The service is fine, the food is fine. There's nothing particularly outstanding but absolutely nothing offensive. If you're in this area and craving Mexican, this is a very serviceable place. While the view is just of the street and the parking lot, it's still nice that they have a large patio, and it is dog friendly.

Based on reviews we must have ended up here on an off day. Food was bland. Service was subpar - my husband had to request a drink refill 3 times before it was provided. I asked for a box for leftovers - my husband finally had to go inside to get it and it took 2 requests to get our bill. Not a good first impression....

Wow! My first visit and I really love this beautiful, authentic Mexican restaurant. The service was sincerely warm, personable, and friendly.The restaurant is very nicely decorated, and has a beautiful deck for outdoor dining. It was also extremely clean. Certainly one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever visited. There was even a hand sanitizer dispenser on each table. Much appreciated!Upon entering the restaurant I was warmly greeted. Chips and salsa were served immediately. The chips were fresh and delicious, and the salsa was smooth and flavorful.Everything on the menu looked wonderful, but when I saw they offered cheese tamales I decided to try them. I actually ordered a combo with two cheese tamales, a cheese enchilada, rice, and beans.I absolutely loved the tamales! They were just the right level of heat, with a pepper inside. The enchilada was excellent as well, and the rice had a very nice flavor and texture, as did the refried beans.The service was so warm and friendly that I felt like a guest in someone's home. A very, very, enjoyable experience.There are so many things on the menu I am looking forward to trying, I will definitely make this my lunch or dinner stop the next time I am in Bloomington.

Juanita's has truly mastered the art of terrible customer service. Ordered delivery on a rainy night after a long, exhausting day--starving--only for my food to NEVER arrive. After waiting nearly two hours, I finally called, only to be met with some girl giving heavy attitude saying something along the lines of, "my managers are gone, I have no one to give the phone to, idk what you want me to do, I can't give you a refund BLAH BLAH BLAH." I hate to give a bad review, but I took a chance on this place after they forgot to pack my HORCHATA the first time I ordered here. Mid strike one, WILD strike two.So let me get this straight--I PAID for food that NEVER showed up, I'm a broke college student just trying to eat, and your grand solution is for *me* to come pick up my own *delivery order*--cold and forgotten--while generously offering me free chips and salsa (you know, the same ones everyone gets dining in anyway)? And of course, no manager on duty, just an unbothered employee who couldn't care less.The level of incompetence is astounding. I didn't just order food--I embarked on a full-time job trying to track it down. At this point, I should've been the one getting paid by the hour. Absolute disgrace.

My parents just got divorced so this beer tower is the most happiness I've felt in 2024, goodbye December hellooooo jan-modelo-aryyyy. Ordered delivery. They didn't deliver the food. I called them. They said they're delivery driver was off duty and couldn't get me a refund. No refund. $40 gone. The level of service here is ridiculously low. Save your money and walk away.
