Joella’s Hot Chicken

Wifey and I took our 8 year old grandson, Jace out to the restaurant of his choice which is Joella's, his favorite. We arrived around 5pm and had just 1 party ahead of us.Wendy was our friendly, knowledgeable order taker and server.Jace got 2 tenders with heat level 2 below HOT.Wife and I shared 5 tenders with HOT level. We also ordered crispy thin fries, fried pickles and Mac & Cheese. Everything was fine, including the ranch, Honey mustard and Horseradish sauces. I look forward to coming back.

Stopped in for a quick pickup order placed via the app to use some points before expiration. We grabbed some tenders and side orders of kale salad. We've tried JoJo sauce, Bama White, Barbecue and several spice levels of Ella's Fave, Tweener, and all have been great. The tenders have been equally delicious either grilled or fried.All of the items were fresh and ready for pickup within 10 minutes on a weekend afternoon. Staff are polite and friendly. Restaurant appears clean and well maintained. Parking spots near the door for pickup orders is appreciated for a quick turnaround. Prices (and rewards items) are all competitive. Chicken orders can be customized to personal heat and spice level. Consistently great value and one of my go-to places.

I love trying hot chicken places so when I saw this one I immediately added it to my list. To be honest it wasn't all that I have read it to be. The chicken was ok- it wasn't dry but it wasn't really battered well. It was almost naked chicken tenders. The sauces (hot/tweener) had no spice level to us personally. The sauces were good and the sides were good but the star of the show was missing a lot for us. The place was clean and promptly helped us so big shoutout for that.

Once again, I really don't know why, but Joellas just kind of fell off our restaurant rotation. We always enjoy their food.Today we had lunch at the Clarksville location. We all had their fried cod dinner. Two pieces of cod, one side and a drink $10.99. It's a great deal and the fish is awesome. We all mentioned we wish the fish was a regular menu item instead of only being offered during Lent.The employees were cheerful and especially helpful during the ordering process.If you love crispy battered cod, you'll love Joella's. Light, tender, pure white and mild.We'll definitely be heading back before they quit offering fish for this year.

The staff members here are always friendly and the food is great. I love the mac & cheese!

The fries were so good, the chicken was ok. Located in a convenient area and good for a quick stop lunch. Also tried the banana pudding which was good. The place seemed clean, customer service was good. Overall it was ok but not anything to brag about. I'll probably try something new next time I'm in town.

Bummer. I was looking forward to this. The sweet and spicy sauce was good, but the chicken was WAY over cooked. Couldn't eat it due to how dry and salty it was. (You can see in the picture how dry it was) Fries tasted ok, super greasy, and a million tiny little pieces - like the of bottom of the bin. The front desk guy was super sweet and helpful, the place seemed clean, and the people there had empty plates. However, the back of the house was having an off day with my order.

When I'm in the Louisville / Clarksville area Joelle's Hot Chicken is always a treat. The last two times I have signed the waiver and ate their hottest chicken. It has a good taste and is spicy, but good. I will be back.

We came in from Arizona and asked our friends who used to live in Kentucky where to get good fried chicken. They suggested Joella's. We decided to share the chicken and waffles as this was more of a late afternoon snack. It turned into our dinner as it was surprisingly filling. This was the first time trying chicken and waffles but now I see why it's so popular. Yum!This place seemed fairly new and was very clean. Would definitely come back again if we are in town.

Joella's Hot Chicken? Yes, please!Serving fried or grilled chicken, Joella's offers the choice of mild to hot with a dipping sauce, served with a dill pickle slice.The good, and it is good:-shoestring fries-Mac n cheese ( creamy and addictive)-Kale salad- collard GreensThe bad...well, not bad but certainly disappointing : Joella's switched from Boylan's fountain sodas to Coca Cola. Boylan's was known for their offerings of pure cane sugar cola, black cherry cola, and others. For me, offering what ever other restaurant offers takes away a unique option but apparently the public has spoken.I ordered the 2pc tenders with tweener sauce (a little spicy), and the kale salad side, which is slightly sweet and crunchy.As always, the chicken was flavorful and the kale was fresh.We were served by the general manager and he was very accommodating and went out of his way to be helpful.Overall, Joella's serves hot chicken the way you like it.
