I am so glad we chose to have lunch here! The buffet was so good. Lots of food! The chicken was much better than I even remembered. If you haven't had apple butter, get a big squirt of the brown stuff in the bottle by the rolls. You'll be glad you did. Restaurant was clean and service was quick and pleasant.

We attended a holiday party here. The venue had more than enough space to accommodate a large group. The food was surprisingly average. It was by no means bad and it was certainly adequate, but it was not remotely impressive. But it wasn't bad enough to ruin the event.

Pumpkin Spice Pretzels: Huber's Orchard & Winery is located in Starlight, IN. Founder Simon Huber (along with his knowledge of fruit growing and wine making) immigrated to the U.S. in 1843 from Germany. Today the orchard/winery comprises over 700 acres and is being run by the 7th generation of the Huber family. Their Pumpkin Pretzels have an orangish sugary coating that actually reminds me of the coating on the Pumpkin Pie Kit Kats that were released a few years ago. It's a mild and sweet pumpkin flavor that should please most. The texture is slightly waxy and smooth on the exterior and satisfyingly crunchy within. What makes them so addicting is the combination of sweet and salty. Pretzels generally do not jump to mind as a go to combination pumpkin treat, but in this case, it works well enough. Dined with wife and a friend on a Friday afternoon. There was no wait. We just missed the buffet which ended at 2pm, but that was fine. Alyssa was our friendly and knowledgable server. I ordered grilled cod, wife had fried chicken and our friend had fried catfish dinner. We all had the Huber's rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and dumplings. We all had some leftovers. Some folks think prices are high, but quality and quantity justify the price in my opinion. Everything was very good and service was even better. I appreciated a Military discount. After we ate, we visited the small lake outside and watched the fish. After that, we rode around the knobs to see the Fall foliage which is stunning this year. I trust we will visit again some time.

Wow this market is absolutely fantastic. Such a variety of different things and so many things to try. We had the best time looking at all of the different produce. There was a wedding going on and I can see why, it's such a beautiful farm.

Chicken 10 stars. Staff 10 stars. Cole slaw 3/10. No descriptors 0/10. There were squeeze bottles of brown stuff near the veggies.... I didn't know until in the market that it was probably their vinigarette. The cobblers were mystery. I would have liked to see descriptions, or at least allergen warnings. Fresh strawberry daiquiri - 15/10 stars. The BEST I have ever had!!!Love how you could buy nibbles of food for chickens, turtles or rabbits, or rent poles and fish.

A visit to Huber's can be a varied experience. Truth be told, I've barely scratched the surface. In the summer, I've enjoyed sitting in a shaded area, sipping sangria and enjoying local bands. Even better, pups are welcome. (Please be sure to bring "cleanup" supplies).I've yet to try the restaurant or farm tours or their distillery. This time, a short visit with my grandson picking strawberries. Huber's has a great little system. On weekdays (slightly more on weekends) it's $3 pp for the wagon ride to the fields. You can take a cardboard flat for your berries, and pick as many berries for as long as you like. They have several patches and each wagon group is "assigned" a specific area. We ended up picking about 3 pounds of berries. I think we paid about $3.50 per pound on top of the $3 fee. If you're looking to save money, this isn't the way to go. After picking our berries, my grandson and I grabbed a few huge peaches from the farmers market. Then, a quick trip to the ice cream shop. His choice? Cotton candy ice cream. I went more traditional with mint chocolate chip. I did try a taste his cotton candy. Surprisingly, pretty good. A cone or cup is about $4.80, but it's a very good sized serving. Bottom line? Fun. But at $40, it comes with a price. But time with a grandson? Priceless.

We spent $92 on an "all you can eat" for 3 people and only got 9 pieces of chicken. They were super stingy with giving us more food and took forever to bring anything to the table after we finished waiting our more food. Honestly, we would've gotten more and better food at KFC. Major disappointment!

We had the Country Style Supper. The apple butter is fantastic. This comes with your choice of meat, from fried chicken to grilled pork chops to Iceland Grilled Cod and county ham. The seasoned green beans are a good choice, but you have over a dozen options, from Sauerkraut to chicken and dumplings. Try one of the homemade pies for dessert; Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie is my favorite! They also offer their in-house wine, with the Wine Flight option of 6 different wines for $9.00. The Fresh Apple Daiquiri is impressive as well. Overall, it is a tremendous dining experience in the area. Great and freindly service tops off a excellent place for a relaxing meal. High recemmend!

The Good: The setting is absolutely beautiful although the dining hall is rather basic (it is a farm for goodness sakes). Food portions are plentiful. The Not So Good: Service was bad. Poor attention to detail: ordered a second drink it was brought to the table after we had finished our meal. When they were bringing our order the waitress stopped to talk to another table all the while holding our plates. Service needs improvements.
