We hadn't been to the Gaslight Festival in years and decided to make it part of our Saturday morning. My husband and I went early enough to not be uncomfortably surrounded by people while visiting the vendor booths. Booths were a mixture of local businesses and groups or small business vendors selling earrings, candles, soaps, cookies, clothing and more. The food vendors were similar to being at the state fair, offering lemonade, corn dogs and funnel cakes. My favorite snack was the popcorn. For the kids they offered a variety of activities - bouncy houses and carnival rides. The Gaslight Festival is actually a few days of events. Most popular activities are the 5k, parade and car show. Street parking can be tough to find but some organizations offer their lot for a small parking fee, which raises money for their group. Keep this in mind if you're wanting to visit a restaurant in the area. (You're likely not going to be able to park at their private lot)

The Jtown Gaslight Festival is a relaxed neighborhood affair -- a perfect festival to close out the summer with. I was impressed with the amount of booths at this festival -- probably two or three blocks' worth. And these booths included a mix of local businesses and nonprofits, artists and cheaper gifts. For example, if you bring a child and want to buy him/her something inexpensive, you can probably find it here. There is also a car show, which is fun to browse, as well as rides, live music and a variety of fair food. The kettle corn stand made the main thoroughfare smell amazing and rightfully so had a decently long line, which included me. A favorite part was that walking the streets of the festival allowed me to slow down enough to really take in the buildings and businesses lining downtown Jtown. I didn't know that Jtown had its on archeological society, for example. It also provided me an opportunity to check out the new Feast BBQ that just opened in downtown Jtown. Parking was decently easy to come by -- an added plus. It seems like Jtown is becoming a more and more popular place to live and do business. It was fun to see all of this on display at the Gaslight Festival.

This was so much fun! Word to the wise, parking it limited near by and street/pay to park is available. We got lucky and parked in the USPS office parking lot for free and it was a short walk to the festival. It was packed of vendors and business! It kept us busy for a couple of hours, they had a some bouncy houses and carnival rides for the kids. Some shops were still open for business, which was great! There was different food vendors set up through out the festival and a few restaurants stayed open. There were different music stages set up throughout the festival. So got to hear a bit of everything. With everything open and booth galore, we stayed pretty busy. Definitely want to check out the ballon glow next time.

The Gaslight festival was fabulous! I hadn't been there in years! My niece told me one of the vendors said there were more visitors in just 3 days than all of last year!

The J Town Gaslight Festival is a fun event to go to. I actually stumbled upon it on accident, already being . at Recbar and then seeing this festival happening. It seems like a big deal to Jeffersontown locals, but I can definitely see why they love it so much! It's pretty much a street fair with a few extras, they've got all kinds of tents up, live music, psychic readings, merchandise; there's also a gaslight 5k and balloon that goes on at previous times. It's generally just fun to walk around and explore some of the local businesses that are being promoted. The Gaslight Festival is definitely a trip I would like to make annually!

Wow! We have been to several festivals here in The Ville but this one was one of our favs! There is something for everyone; carnival rides for the kiddos, lots of treats and eats for the foodies, arts/crafts for the enthusiasts, clothing booths for the shopaholic, and my personal favorites are the plentiful handmade holiday items to decorate your home both indoor and out! Prices at booths are reasonable and not overpriced as they tend to be at some of the festivals or upscale flea markets. There are also various local business information booths who giveaway marketing items and offer chances to win prizes. There is an overwhelming presence of trade companies (home maintenance/window replacement/etc) which is slightly off-putting if you are a renter. But then they make up for that by peppering the festival with several realtor vendor booths as well. But at least those had free goodies!

The Gaslight Festival is my most favorite time of the year!! The City of Jeffersontown hosts a Business Appreciation cookout on Wednesday. The parade is on Thursday, balloon glow on Friday, booths all weekend and car show on Sunday. Mix that in with bands at various locations, great food (personal favorite is Marvin Cajiun cooking at the beach) and great people!!
