this restaurant is the place to go if you are looking for authentic mexican cuisine! i got the tacos al pastor and a margarita. It came with a pinto bean soup that wasn't on the menu for the tacos but was amazing in flavor! i love a traditional margarita and this place did not disappoint on that or the tequila!! Most mexican restaurant use a premix to make there margaritas but not here! this place has a goooood margarita

I started going to Jalapeños in 2001 when I went to UK and it's just as amazing now as it was then. The queso is just thick enough and so good with those warm tortilla chips. My husband and I have always been a fan of the enchiladas and can't find anything as good where we live in northern Kentucky. My son is now a fan too and loves the tacos Al carbon. We go whenever we're in town for games or just to visit. It's a gem and I highly recommend it! The service is always quick and friendly too.

I've gone to Jalapenos since 1996 and bar none, they are the best! The food is phenomenal (tampiquena and pollo parrilla are my go-to dishes), the wait staff wonderful and the whole vibe is just special to me! I score them a perfect 100%!

My family has been coming here regularly since as long as I can remember. The staff are always sweet and friendly and remember us! Asking how everyone is doing and checking in whenever we go in. The food never misses, I am a huge fan of the tacos Al carbon-- highly recommend getting them with steak! The food is consistent and speedy and togo orders are always ready super quick. This is comfort food to the highest degree and I cannot recommend it enough

Ordered delivery from Jalapeños and was so impressed! Great portions and super fresh and flavorful! 4stars because we think we received the wrong dish, but we still ate it all. Highly, highly recommend the bean soup! Only other recommendation is for them to add margaritas to their delivery menu!

We discovered Jalapeños thirty years ago and at that time it was hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Lexington. Absolutely authentic, amazing food and consistent quality. We moved to the northern part of the state 25 years ago, but were able to enjoy a location there for several years until it closed. We missed it and could never find a suitable replacement. Now, decades later, we're still visiting the remaining location and enjoying the same great food, friendly atmosphere and service, and the same amazing authentic recipes as at the beginning. Jalapeños is a Lexington institution. All the others are just wannabes.

Consistently great food and service at an excellent price. Chips and salsa are always delivered in a timely manner, as are beverages. Food is prepared quickly and hot. All the employees are friendly and personable. This is my favorite Mexican lunch spot.

The customer service is astonishing! Very kind and quick with everything you need. The food was quick as well. We sat down for 15 minutes, into our chips and salsa and our food was already done and at the table. The food is excellent. Very tasty and well balanced in flavor. I would highly recommend coming here.
