Great cigars and good prices. Lots of Arturo Fuente sticks which are my favorite. We travel in an RV so it can sometime be difficult to find good cigar stores. The owner was super friendly, we discussed our travels and dabbled into local politics.Limited parking but I highly recommend this place!

Staff member, Jason, was warm and personable. I stopped in to look at the cigar box selection. They had a great selection and I left with 4. Excited to repurpose them!

So I'm not a smoker, but I knew I wanted a gift for my brothers-in-law. He loves his cigars! I stopped in and the man at the counter walked me into the room behind the counter full of cigars. There is a window from the counter and the door to see into this room. I walked in and said, I have no idea what I'm looking for. He suggested a 90 year anniversary cigar and a cigar of the year. Sold! He was kind and knew the best thing I needed for a gift. The store is neat, organized and clean. They have a large selection of cigars and other accessories as well. You will also find it easy to make friends with the gentleman sitting on the porch smoking. They asked me to hang with them and smoke but I assured them these cigars weren't for me!Cigar aficionados, this is a great place for you!

Like tobacco? J Shepherd is your place. They know their stuff, and they have a good selection of cigars with their large, walk-in humidor. If you prefer pipes, they also have you covered. A good selection of new pipes...all the way from the cheaps like Kaywoodie to the higher end and more expensive like Dunhill and Peterson. And they have used pipes for a low cost if you're just getting started and don't want to drop two hundo on a Peterson. They have a good selection of pipe tobacco to go with your pipe, also. They also have humidors for the serious cigar smokers out there that buy them by the box, or 10 at a time. They're also super friendly. I recently acquired some pipes via an estate sale. I brought them in, and the gentleman working the counter appraised them, told me what was good and what was bad, and taught me about pipes - how they're made, what they're made of, where the best briar comes from, and so forth. If you find J Shepherd to be expensive, that's because tobacco hobbies are. Good cigars, good tobacco, and good pipes are high. Just the nature of the beast. There are other tobacco stores in the city, but none love what they do quite like J Shepherd. SO GO TO J SHEPHERD AND FORGET EVERYONE ELSE.

Best cigar store in Louisville, Jason (owner) is the nicest guy you could ever meet and Paul (His henchmen) is always super cool to buy from, and the others who work here are just the best. they have a great selection and they know their stuff, the store is vary home like and welcoming, i always feel like im in a big brothers room! always amazed with what i find here, they sell empty cigar boxs which look classy even if you just use them to hold pens or rubber bands ectthe prices are the best ive seen anywhere and the products are top-line and fresh.

This is one of the best cigar shops I've been into, mostly for the service.I stopped in because I wanted to get my brother-in-law an X-mas gift. Told the fellow helping me my budget was a hundred dollars and gave him the name of my brother-in-law's favorite cigar for reference. He went about making selections (all of them good according to the man who smoked them), kept it under $75, and gave me a cigar box to wrap them in.The place is small (intimate), but they have a good selection, and the service is great.

Not only is J Shephard Cigars a nice shop, but it is one of the nicer shops I have ever been in. The store is small, but inviting, and they have the standard accoutrements for cigar smokers: however, what sets them apart is the humidor. It's not the size or layout of the humidor that excels, but the amazing selection of cigars. When I walked into their humidor I saw around a dozen cigars that I had previously only seen pictures of on half wheel or the stogieguys websites. Furthermore, their prices were in line with MSRP or lower, even for the rare sticks. This is almost unheard of as many tobacconists raise prices on hard to find cigars. If you are looking for a Padron Family Reserve, a rare illusione or tatuaje line, Paul Garmirian etc then you've found the right place. They also have a good selection of standard fare: Oliva, Fuente, Camacho etc.

I was looking for a good cigar shop in Louisville as I have recently moved here, so I gave J.Sheperd a try. I go in and the guy working there was not overly inviting and just kind of stared at me and my friends, I opened a wrapper to smell the cigar, not ripping the sticker and gently sliding the cigar out. I did not even get the cigar all of the way out before he chastised me calling it a major faux pas to open the wrapper. I have been to multiple cigar shops where the worker gladly opens it for me to smell (maybe it is a faux pas I am not sure, but the way he treated it was distasteful). This guy was not the owner from what I could gather, so maybe the owner is a great guy, but the guy that was working was very unprofessional and uninviting. I will not be returning and probably recommend you look elsewhere too.
