Ichiban

First of all this restaurant claims to be Japanese. I am half Japanese and this food and sushi was horrible, I have had Japanese food since my youth years and was raised by a mother who was full Japanese. Who puts potatoes in a dish? Sweet potatoes? Yuck. Spicy Tuna is not a can of tuna fish mixed with Sriracha hot sauce in a sushi roll. WTF? Totally disappointed. Good luck and this is my opinion based on being Japanese cuisine lover. Maybe I have to get used to this side of the country's interpretation of what is Japanese Cuisine.

We got to go here with friends and I was plenty surprised! We usually go to Yuki for sushi but this place was great too. The food was all super fresh and everything looked pretty authentic. The rolls were a good size and the dishes as yummy. The hot food looked really good too.

Service from nice young man was excellent. Food not so much. I ordered vegetable tempura and the zucchini and carrots were cut so thick I could not eat them. Raw veggies. When you serve food at a restaurant surrounded by other restaurants you want to stand out for good food. I will not return. By the way, the vegetable roll was good.

I went to Bowling Green to visit my daughter at WKU. We were looking for a dinner place because we were starving. My daughter said she went to this restaurant before and loved it. The outside is not much to look at. But you can't judge a book by its cover. I ordered chicken and shrimp combination and my daughter ordered the spicy chicken. We also had California rolls as a appetizer. Everything was great. I actually liked the spicy chicken better than I liked my own food. The wait staff was adequate. I will definitely be back, but I think I will have takeout.

My favorite place to get sushi while I lived in Bowling Green. It was only a 10 minute drive from my work so it was easy to grab something and go. The food is fresh and they give you big portions for how much you pay. Honestly I wish Ichiban would just move to Louisville so I can keep coming here on a regular basis.

I travel often. I've been here twice. Great meal! The sashimi salmon melted in my mouth. I highly recommend the Bowling Green roll! Great service and food. What else can one ask for??

Came here to order takeout for the first time today. I was a little hesitant to order raw fish in Kentucky (I just moved here from WA)... but it was really good, super fast, and they were really nice folks. I got a salmon roll and a tuna roll and the fish to rice ratio was good. Also, the rice was properly seasoned. Oh, and the prices are good too! Will be coming back.

Ordered in advance via door dash and requested no vegetables with teriyaki order and was given vegetables and order was not correct. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have experienced these issues, but the food was less than quality and the bill was outrageously overpriced for the food we received. Won't be back for a while...

Good food and phenomenal service. We had shashimi, gyoza and sushi rolls. I will be back!!

after seeing other reviews I had to write mine. I've traveled the world and imagine finding a real sushi restaurant in Bowling Green Ky! My fave food! Food was fab, service was great, staff friendly and welcoming. I'll be back when I travel this way again.
