We visited for dinner 6/21/2024Hong Kong Kitchen in Madison. Our first visit. I've never heard a negative comment about this place. Now I see why. We arrived around 4:00 so it wasn't overly busy other than a few carry out orders. We had a very quiet and peaceful dine in dinner. You order and pay at the counter before sitting down. The Mrs. went up and ordered while . A while later, the lady brought out crab rangoon, fried wontons, and a shareable plate of moo goo gai pan and said "more coming." A few minutes later, she arrived with a shareable plate of General Tso's chicken.

This used to be the best Chinese restaurant in Madison. My favorite dish was General Tso's chicken. The sauce just had the right amount of heat and sweet. We went there the other day and my chicken tasted like it was just made with soy sauce. The sauce had a much darker color also. It was so salty I couldn't eat it and it went into the trash. I am not sure what the new owners have done with the food but it's definitely not the same.

This is not your traditional Chinese take out. Yes you can carry out but that quality of the food is spot on! Fresh vegetables and meat. My mm comes here every Sunday and swears by it. It is a little bit more expensive than the usual chines take out, but it's worth the cost. They also have pad dishes too, check out menu board to left of counter. The place hold about 5 tables and you can tellBy the service this is a family run business. This is a drive from where I live but it's worth the drive for the yummy fresh food and service!

Had Garlic Scallops, Pad Thai, Crab Rangoons, and vegetable fried rice. They're doing take out only, but that could change quickly. We sat outside and watched the street parade of tourists in Madison as we ate.The flavors were good. We suspect lots of MSG, and mention this for those that eschew it. The crab rangoons had little flavor, unfortunately. Every thing was as expected. Their menu of standard Chinese fare is extensive, and there are Szechuan and Hunan selections. The MSG kind of bugged us, but spicing was to our order (hot; mild is the default) and the portion sizes were big. A saving grace is that they know how to do tofu well. Overall, nothing bad, spiced correctly, but nothing stellar, signature, or pushes it to another star or two. There were a good variety of veggies, and attention to detail, which might otherwise squeak another star, but we decided, no.

Amazing! My husband and I both got orange chicken and it packed a punch- but we love heat so it was perfect. Definitely would eat again if we are ever in town!

On the main strip. Thought from the traffic must be pretty good. I rate awful. Order general tso's chicken. Crunchy. Yuck. Fried rice. Peas tasted like they came from a frozen bag. Egg roll. The worst. Threw my entire dinner away. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken and white rice. His opinion - never going back.

The service was efficient and the cashier was very nice. The food was oversalted and the chicken tasted very rubbery. The vegetables were fine. Its nit the worst Chinese food I've ever had but improvements in quality and seasoning choices could be made.

Fast service, hot food! Excellent flavor. Hubby had the Beef Lo Mein.The Pad Thai was some of the best I have ever had. Moist chicken, large portion, and plenty of sauce!RIGHT ON MAIN Street in Historic and BEAUTIFUL MADISON IN.

Food was incredible, fresh, hot and fast. Food was ordered with special instructions, 100% successfully cooked. The service with attentive for counter service on a Saturday night. The young lady, who rang up the order and delivered the food to the table, was super efficient and personable. Ambience? Who really needs ambience when you have amazing food and urgent service in a restaurant.
