Hometown Pizza - Taylorsville

Tony and I recently moved to a small town outside Louisville for my new job. In the area there is a chain of Pizza places called Hometown Pizza. Since we are PIZZA FANATICS, OF COURSE we had to try them out. We went Friday evening while the local high school was enjoying a football game. The store is located in a small shopping center. It's rather large and the Italian food aroma is delicious and enticing!!!We were greeted and seated at a booth. I ordered soda and Tony with the tea (56 days sober). The waitress made a few suggestions when we told her that we were new and first timers!I went with the personal size Hometown Supreme Pizza and Tony went with the Stromboli Steak Sandwich and seasonal potato wedges. We didn't have to wait long for the food. Okay, the pizza was delicious reminded me of Pizza Hut style with a very thick deep dish flair to the crust. Only regret they just didn't put enough sauce on the pizza.Now the Stromboli, it was not the traditional Stromboli that I have become accustomed to. It was like a buzz butter steak Patty fries and put on a sub roll, with green peppers, onions barely heated up much less cooked [still very rare and crunchy) with pizza sauce just sort of dumped and sloshed on the meat....NOT impressed at all. When we split the pizza and the sandwich, I didn't eat my half of the sandwich. I would definitely go here again, just not eat the Stromboli, all in all ticket with taxes was $18 plus tip for our cute, sweet young pregnant mommy to be waitress!!!

Ordered to go. Was disappointed in crust. Felt it was older dough - not fresh or flaky. Toppings were average. Needed more sauce to compensate for a dryer crust. Not impressed as have enjoyed pizza at other locations.

Yes it does get busy but when that pizza is ready, oh boy! Been going there for years and have noticed an up tick on customer service and quality of food.

We were traveling through the area( we are from Indiana) and a local recommended it so of course we had to try.... well worth it! They were the best breadsticks I've ever had In my 30 years of life. Also the price was very reasonable (we paid under $60 for an appetizer, large pizza, personal pizza and dessert), and the service was awesome. We would 100% recommend.

Pizza and house salad is good. Friendly, efficient service. I wish the buffet would come back, but that is COVID's fault not this business.

This was actually my third experience at an HP. Each experience has been a little different. Each locally owned location puts a bit of their own spin on the franchise.This location is in Taylorsville, but not very close to Taylorsville Lake. It's located in the corner of a strip mall. We were there on a Sunday for lunch and they were already crowded, but scoring a seat wasn't an issue. We sat by the bar. At first, I wasn't sold on the bar, especially because I've ordered from the menus of two other HP locations and was impressed. But in the end, the price and the presentation of the buffet overruled and that's what I ended up getting. If they don't have your preference of pizza up on the bar, you can place an order and they'll add it to the buffet at no extra charge. Although I wasn't impressed with the baked spaghetti or the potato casserole concoctions, both were nice additions to the hot bar options. The salad bar options, although they were few, were very fresh... including the fruit mixture. Service was excellent and really the only thing that I observed worth mentioning, is that the entire restaurant could use a good cleaning. My mom is extremely particular in this department and she would not eat here if she were to stop in there at this point.

Love Hometown Pizza... food is great staff is wonderful. Will not disappoint. Pizza, subs, pasta...etc. highly recommend anything on the menu.

Don't bother. Called in an order. Took the kid forever once I told him my order... Asked if he was still there and he had me wait several more minutes. Repeated the order to me and it was wrong, so I repeated the order. I was on the phone for 27 minutes and 22 seconds to get my food ordered. Had my wife pick it up on her way back from Indiana and one pizza is correct but the other is completely wrong. Tried to call, now they won't answer the phone. When they get it right, the pizza is fire. Not worth the terrible customer service. Go to Papa John's, or better yet High Grove Grocery and Diner

A little pricey as far as pizza goes, but always delicious. High quality and definitely better than the other pizza options in town. Service is always good. I wish they would deliver!
