Oh my gosh. Homeboyz where have you been all of my life!!!!I'm so happy I found this place on yelp. I picked my friend up to take her to lunch from North and needed somewhere fast but was tired of all the fast food around us. So I looked to see if there was anywhere I forgot about and this place popped up and I was like hmm. Where is that? So we ended up going to check it out and I'm so glad I did! The owner is soooo sweet. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. The lunch special was awesome on Friday. It was $5 and it came with a drink. I forget what it was called but it was fried chicken with this delicious Potatoe stuff underneath. And I couldn't finish it all either. My friend got the fish one and she loved hers too. She had regulars come in while we were there and regulars is always a good sign to me!! She knew them all by name too it was so sweet. Anyways it was so great I ended up going back the next day to take my presents. And they loved it just as much! We will all definitely be back many times to come.

Homeboyz is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. Immediately upon entry I was greeted by two ladies and my order was taken instantly. I felt very welcomed and invited into the space and smells of the food was amazing. I ordered the ultimate combo which is fish, chicken, two sides, and a drink. For my sides I had the mac and cheese and fried potatoes with onions. Everything was seasoned well and tasted amazing. The portion size of everything is well worth the price too. They also make their own tartar sauce which is phenomenal. I choose the lemonade as a drink which was delicious too. For the desert I was fortunate enough to get an end piece which is my favorite because it usually has more crust and needless to say they didn't disappoint. This place is by far my favorite restaurant in the camp Atterbury area and I look forward to another visit in the future.

The potato salad is terrific--it's mostly a straight up Midwest style but has a little bit of the vinegar of a German potato salad. And the breading on the fried catfish was perfect. With a side of green beans and a small sample of the peach cobbler to round out the meal. Super nice folks who run the place and keep the kitchen going.

Little gem located in small town Columbus! We ordered the fish dinner and the white meat chicken dinner. They were delicious especially their fried fish! They were freshly made when you order. Owners of the restaurant are friendly. The only thing I would comment about is the speed of service. We waited for about half an hour or more to get our food. But overall, it's worth a try and I will be back again!

Off the path! Might be known in town but we found thru Yelp. Catfish so tender and juicy. Chicken moist and crisp! The sides are so good that you can't possibly eat all this food. So box it up because you won't want to leave a bite behind.

The food was delicious! I got the dark meat meal and it cost me about $20 but the portions are huge, like I have a whole meal for lunch tomorrow. The two ladies I met were wonderful, they got me in and out in about 5 mins.

Homeboyz is an interesting place to say the least. I'd call it another hole-in-the wall local restaurant that is only open a few days a week. The restaurant is in a tiny kitchen in the corner of a brick building just off Washington street. And when I say tiny, think only big enough for a kitchen, a counter, and maybe an 8'x8' area for waiting. Most, if not all folks appear to order takeout since there really is no place to sit down and eat inside or outside. Their menu has an assortment of fried items and sides. I got the dark meat dinner which included two sides and a free dessert. Drinks were separate. All of the fried food is literally cooked to order by 2 nice ladies that do everything. Very friendly as they shout out questions and comments while simultaneously cooking, prep'ing, taking orders, and checking folks out. They don't have some mega commercial kitchen with a giant staff. You only see what you might find in someones house cooking a meal. I was thinking "you fry my chicken in that tiny thing I could buy from Walmart?" One of them explained to me that their goal was to only use what you might find at home to keep that "home cooked meal" feeling. Mission accomplished. My chicken tasted great, cabbage was great, and the mac&cheese was ok. Peach cobbler was also great. I ate at the single small card table that another was at waiting for their order. I was the only person that ate inside. While eating I watch one of the cooks take a pan of freshly baked corn muffins from the over and place them on the counter. (definitely fresh food) Every 5 minutes or so you can hear a giant air compressor fire up from the shop next door. (adds to the character of the place) Haha! One of the ladies regularly shouts from the kitchen "how's your food?"...Feels like eating at my grandmothers. So, for what this place is, it's a great place with a lot of character for an occasional meal that is not another chain restaurant. PS - maybe it should be called "Homegals" due to the hard working cooks!

Very small. Wouldn't recommend for dining in. Was hopeful the food would be really good, based on reviews, but it was just ok. Nothing special IMO. And pretty expensive for what it is. The fish and chicken is made fresh to order, so that is a positive i can share.

Get comfy, lots to say. First off, the restaurant: small and UNSUSPECTING. If it weren't for the open sign in the only window and the business name on the building street side, you'd think you were in the wrong place. Don't worry, you're not. When you walk in you're hit with a primarily two smells...Seasoning from the side dishes, and fry oil. Straight ahead is one table placed inconveniently with two chairs, a couple of benches to your left, and a long bar with the napkins, plastic utensils, sauces, sweet tea and lemonade, and paper menus all along the wall. Above that is their full menu. You're not going to stay there to eat...take your treasure and find a spot to hide. When we came in, no one in sight. Heard a small voice on the phone back around the kitchen corner. Suddenly a woman appears with a red chefs hat, apron, and the most reassuring and welcoming smile. With a neighborly "hello" it begins. Ordered the fish dinner with catfish. Two fillets, two sides (Mac n cheese and green beans), and two hush puppies. Paid. She turned around and headed off to make our food. She dropped the potatoes in the fryer, breaded my fish and sent them on their way to crispy perfection. She talked me into dessert. As I was already mesmerized by her sweetness and infectious smile, it was an easy sale. The food: this is the type of place that epitomizes care and love for cooking. The ingredients are simple, the preparation and method are rooted in everyday simple cooking, and the presentation is not the focus; that's reserved for the flavor. Everything was made that day by hand, the meats were prepared and cooked right then. You wait, you smell, you chat, and you begin to become more and more excited. The catfish was crispy, tender but a little chewy. Great flavor. The Mac n cheese was awesome! It had something about it that made it stand apart (maybe franks red hot). The green beans were slow-cooked-tender and had onion and potato in it...best I've had in a long time! Asked why she was only open 3 days a week and she answered "so we can focus on the quality of the food..." and "I have another job". It works. Passion and love goes into their recipes. Wholesome, simple, pleasurable foods done right. They've been there two years. You don't open for 3 days a week to just push food across a counter, you do it for the love of preparing deliciousness! Only wish they were just around my corner, I'd be there every chance I'd get.
