There were good things and not so good things. Good easy ample plaza parking. Easy to get to location. Quick welcome and fast seating. There is a lot of food variety, and some great plates. From salads, to soups to grilled fried dishes to sushi. You will find something you like here. Servers are friendly, quick and professional. Even when they had to deal with running kids who took the restaurant as the park and the parents were laid back chatting or checking cell stuff. Be warned that people have hot food on plates. Many dishes, some were excellent and some were ok. The sushi rolls something is off, the guy makes them there but the roll feels stale. Not sure if maybe the rice has been cooked for hours or something. Some other dishes were not bad, but like many buffets different recipes yet had the same flavor. For Sunday night it was a but more expensive, but say some higher end dishes so I think that is the higher price. I will go and try weekday lunch. All in all a good convenient Chinese buffet. Place could use some renovations, fox broken pieces etc but in general in good shape.

I think this is the least impressive buffet around. I sampled some sushi (rolls of rice with a small piece of fish), salad (lettuce with dressing) and several chicken and side items from the buffet. Literally nothing was delicious and the salad was the most tolerable thing I had. The atmosphere is classic large Asian buffet but the selection is grim. The service was mediocre. It's a buffet. The staff greeted us after we stood at the host stand a minute or two then took us to a table and brought our drinks. When we were ready to pay they brought the check. Not much required service wise. My expectations for this type of place are pretty minimal but this location failed to come close to them. The sister location (I assume) on Dixie hwy always seemed decent, I now know this one is not comparable.

A few different choices here or there and this is a two star review. This review is for a Thursday from noon to 12:30. Your results may vary. First off, the sushi looked horrible. I did not venture to try it. Nigiri sliced razor thin on over sized clumps of very dried out looking rice. I also did not try anything from the I don't like Chinese food steam table. You know the one with pizza and fried chicken on it. Surprisingly I did try perhaps the best hot and sour soup I've had in Louisville. I also grabbed some chili oil from the hibachi section and put it on some pretty good lo mein. The chili oil was actually hot. I also tried a decent rendition of pepper steak and a very good shrimp with squash dish. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Tender with a nice thickened chicken stock sauce. Green beans were fresh and cooked well. Just the right amount of bite. This is a huge space. I'm not sure what their overhead is but they weren't exactly crushing it at lunch time. They have been here for a long time so they must be doing something right. That or it's a money laundering operation.

Great service on a busy night! We came on Christmas day since it open and not far away. Surprisedly big and BUSY, I mean with groups of 10 or more!! We were only 2 but they seated the group of 15 who were there before us. Our wait time wasn't bad though, less than 10 minutes. The buffet looked clean and full, they were constantly replenishing with new trays of food. They even had a Mongolian bar, however you only had 2 protein options shrimp or chicken because they were out of steak. The food was hot and decent, just like every other Chinese buffet, except they didn't have a few of the classic or if they did I didn't see any pineapple chicken. The dessert options were basic too, ice cream, almond cookies and the cakes and that's about it. I don't know if they just kept it basic for the evening or an every day thing. Service was good, it took awhile though to get our ticket. We had to position our plates and drinks to get the signal out that we wanted to leave, that didn't work. When we started our synchronized standing act, that got their attention. Giving them 4 since it was Christmas Day and they had a few large groups. But if this was any other day would have rated lower.

My boyfriend was wanting Chinese food and thought a Chinese buffet would be good so there would be something for everyone. I did not know that I had a buffet so close to my house so we decided to try it. The restaurant is very big and open. I also liked how clean and picked up it was. We went to dinner on a Saturday night and to my surprise it was not very busy. A couple things I did not like was that they were out of a few things they eventually brought more out but it took a while. Also they did not have any veggie rolls at the sushi bar. I know its most traditional with raw fish but usually they have a least one plate that is vegetarian. I would no be opposed to going back. The staff was friendly and the food was pretty good, i especially enjoyed the egg drop soup.

Hibachi Sushi Buffet is a great place, but because of a problem with the service on my second visit, it took me three visits to get my review right. Such a dedicated Yelper!Hibachi Sushi Buffet intrigued me. There were grand opening flags festooning the parking lot. There were lots of cars there, but the Yelp reviews were pretty lousy. I decided to try for myself. The restaurant has clearly been remodeled and updated. The decor is what I would call "modern classy Asian." It certainly has a bit of an exotic feel, but without kitsch. There is a massive variety of prepared foods, including lots of seafood, on the five hot steam tables. The food is tasty, fresh, and served at a safe temperature. The restaurant also has a hibachi, where you pick ingredients and a chef cooks them to order. There is also the best sushi buffet I have seen in Louisville. Finally, there is a cold bar, and a nice selection of Asian desserts. Why did my review take three visits?I would have given Hibachi Sushi Buffet five stars based on my first visit. The food was good, and the service was good enough. On my second visit, the food was good, but the service was unacceptable. In my opinion, a server at a buffet only has three tasks. 1) Keep my beverage filled. 2) Clear used plates. (Dirty plates are gross, and I don't want to be surrounded by evidence of my gluttony. 3) Bring my check promptly at the end of the meal. If service is up to par, I will tip as well as I would at a full service restaurant, but on this visit, the server didn't do ANY of that. After waiting and waiting for the check (and trying to make eye contact), I had to employ my foolproof strategy to get a check; I put on my coat and walked toward the door. The server chased me down and accused me of trying to skip my tab. By pushing the right combination of my "buttons," she qualified herself to hear my unfiltered opinion. On my third visit, a different server was assigned to me. (The first one may or may not have been cowering in a corner.) Food was good, and service was impeccable, even doing things that earn extra points (like refilling beverage after bringing the check.) I don't know if the server is this great to everyone (or if there is a picture in the break room captioned, "Don't piss this guy off!"I will be back. I like this place.

Very bad service !!! Had a bug crawling on the edge of my daughters plate as soon as we sat down we noticed it. We didn't even get to take a bite. They made me still pay for my plate of food. Very bad way of running business . Never going back . Rude workers . 0 STARS . They removed my last review

Unless the other buffets in town have all burned down, I would not waste my money here.Firstly, it is not a sushi buffet. When questioned about the obvious lack of sushi, besides a couple lumps of rice with the bare minimum of other ingredients, the staff seemed genuine confused. Like, "you expected there to be sushi at this sushi buffet?"Secondly, the food that they actually do have, mostly Chinese derivatives, is cheap and unappetizing. Lastly, they had more American type foods, such as pizza and fries, than they did sushi or any other edible Chinese food.DO NOT GO HERE, for anything other than scrape off the floor quality "Chinese food".
