Guist Creek Marina & Campground

My husband and I were visiting Buffalo Trace Distillery and wanted to camp for the night. We felt very lucky Guist Creek had a campsite open last minute on Memorial Day weekend! We were only there 1 night so we didn't explore much or check out everything the Marina had to offer. Our tent-friendly campsite was nice, though and everyone I interacted with in the office was friendly.There was a small band playing live music in the campground pavilion the night we were there. I don't know if this was because it was a holiday weekend, but it was a great surprise. The sites are pretty close together and there's not a ton of privacy, but this was a great find for us as we were passing through.

I love Guist Creek. It's so pretty and so relaxed. The water adds a peaceful feel. And they are the nicest people! We were here about a week when we received word that my sister in California had suffered a serious head injury in a fall. They let us store our RV for 3 weeks free of charge while we went back to visit her. Plus gave us free our first night back. Wow. Thank you Eddie. We stayed here one more week after that. Moving on now and this morning I kind of feel like I'm leaving home. Lovely experience,

Nice campground , clean area large campsites, super clean bath house. And very relaxing quiet area!! Great great get away spot close to Lexington

Great campground. Clean bathrooms, large sites. Other campers where extremely friendly and so was the staff.

The only thing I see this has going for it is if you bring a boat, it's in a lake. Not a very good campground. For $40/nt there are no sewer hookups, sites are not level and roads to campsites are horrible. The night we stayed the water main got broken while digging new trench for electric. I would not go out of my way for an overnight to come here!!

I would not even give it 1 star the marina is piss poor. Me and my girl called a day in advance and asked to rent a boat they said sure thing and we asked the age they said 18. Next day later we get there it's a 1 hour drive and we drove all the way out there for them to just tell us we can't rent it because now you have to be 21. But they told us day before you can be 18. I do not recommend to go to the marina they are nothing but a joke. THIS PLACE IS PISS POOR!!! I can drive a big lifted f350 (Diesel) and a 235 Evinrude bass boat so I most definitely can drive their little baby John boat I will never go back there just a waste gas and time. Again I do not recommend this place their is way better places to go such as taylorsville lake, Kentucky lake, long run park, and waverly park and much more.

Absolutely the worst campground I have ever came to. We couldn't even stay. We wanted to stay overnight and be ready to leave the next morning. So, we called and made our reservations A WEEK ahead of time. I called an hour before we were to arrive, and I was told that our site was ready. When we arrived, our site had been moved because someone who was not scheduled to arrive until the next day came a day early. We were dumped into a site that was not fit to be a campsite. If you do choose to go to this place, DO NOT let them dump you into sites 14 or 15, neither are fit to be campsites! All the gentleman was able to say was that I could get a refund. So those who change their plans and arrive earlier get the premium sites and those who schedule ahead get the crap. We have been on a 30 day trip, staying at 12 campgrounds, and we by far, were more disappointed with this place than any on this trip, or actually ever! When my husband was getting the refund because we could not stay in the site, the guy at the counter said that whoever did the switching was totally wrong for doing it, but there were still no sites for us that were inhabitable. We had to travel 50 miles and stay in Indiana in order to find a place for the night. I am so disappointed, I will never recommend the place to anyone! 0 stars (if I could pick 0, I had to pick 1) for the extra 2 hours of my life, tons of gas, for the inconsideration, and the non-accommodation!
