This is one of my favorite friend chicken places. The batter is seasoned so well and it's always crispy and delicious! I love their battered potato wedges. Their prices are great too.

What happened!? Have been going to Grimes since they opened. Food has always been consistent. My go to is the spicy chicken breast with a side. Today there was virtually no meat on the breast. It was all coating, thick and inedible. Hope this is a one off, guys?86

Ok Grimes, what is going on? We used to LOVE your chicken but the last two times we've gotten it (in the evening around 6:00pm three weeks apart), it's been over cooked. Was there an issue with food poisoning that made you over cook the chicken or does the grease need to be changed? Either way, it's not been the same and is sad. Please figure it out because we've always given great reviews in the past and want this business to thrive.

Get served dried out chicken wings, can't believe they would eat these themselves but will give them to a paying customer

Anytime I visit Lexington, Kentucky, I have to take advantage of one of its many Mom and Pops chicken places. Grimes did not let me down and this new location in the Tates Creek Area is close to my hotel in Hamburgh, so yes, this is a win for me. This location is located at the end of a strip mall near a Walmart, which is convenient for them because it allows them to operate a drive-thru. Super fast; from the time I walked in, ordered my 18 piece wings, 3 potatoe wedges, and roll, I was out the door in 5 minutes or less, literally. What makes the process so fast, is the food is displayed behind a glass that you can see it. There is also a large menu board that displays everything. You can expect options from dinners, chicken and roll and individual options. The sides are all your southern favorites, mac and cheese, greens, green beans, potato wedges, fries etc.... The price is very resonable for what you get so feeding a family of four here is a good option..I like my chicken cooked a little hard so some of the pieces was a little undercooked for my taste, but that makes the best chickent to reheat later. Yes! I will return my next visit, you shuld give them a try. Happy Yelping!

I decided to give them a try after looking at their extensive menu. It was short drive to pick up some food and bring it home. This was the first time I have gone to this restaurant. I have passed by it multiple times but never stopped before. I did go into the drive-thru the wrong way. If you go there, you need to drive around back where the drive-thru lane starts. You have to order the pick up your food from the passenger side. This is due to it being the last space in the strip mall there. Anyway, they were nice about it (I am sure I'm not the first to make this mistake). They took my order and told me I could park anywhere out front and they would bring my food to me. She told me they make it fresh so it would take a few minutes but assured me she would get it out to me as quickly as possible. It was probably about 10 minutes or so. I would order ahead next time and then pick up at the drive-thru. I ordered the 2 pc Boneless Catfish Dinner which comes with two sides and a choice of bread. I tried the Red Beans & Rice and the Potato Salad. For my bread I went with the Cornbread instead of the roll. The fish was good. The potato salad was excellent. The red beans & rice and cornbread were okay. I would come again to order more food for sure.She got the Chicken Sandwich. It was a classic chicken sandwich which would normally come with lettuce, tomato, mayo, they also asked if she wanted pickles. She opted to get it plain. She sometimes doesn't like the sauce or there is too much sauce so she prefers to add the toppings herself if needed.The chicken was lightly fried and came on a large white bun. There are so many places that sell the classic sandwich so she did have some preconceived idea of what it would taste like. She had to say this chicken sandwich, to her surprise, exceeded her expectations. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was everything she had hoped for. She realizes it is just a piece of fried chicken breast but it gets harder and harder to find a really good one. She will certainly be ordering this again.

Well.... I have to rescind my last review. My heart is broken. Just stopped and got my dinner. I'm not sure I'll be going back anytime soon. The girl at the window and the one serving the food were too busy rolling their eyes in their heads when they overcharged me. I finally got them to understand but it was difficult. Hopefully it was done correctly! ‍ Then I get home with my food and it was so dry that I thought it might disintegrate any second. The piece of cornbread looked like someone or something had been nibbling on it! I was shocked! I have never experienced this much incompetency in my life from one establishment! I'm more than a little miffed! $19. Plus change! Then I was supposed to be refunded $7. and change but the girl couldn't give me a receipt where she had performed the actual refund! I will check my account tomorrow. I've never seen such failure to communicate, She tried her best to convince me that I had ordered the extra 6 pieces. I didn't! I thought she was recapping my order. My husband did too. I'm done! The food was terrible, the service was terrible! Bye Ya'll!

That bone-in fried pork chop sandwich is the absolute TRUTH! I can't drive down Georgetown street and not pull up

So good! The chicken was tender and the coating nicely seasoned. Really enjoyed the baked beans, potato salad, green beans. Rolls were soft and cornbread muffins slightly sweet on top and pleasantly not dry. Fried mushrooms good...would be nice to have a dipping sauce. Ordered peach cobbler but too full to try it yet. Servers were also very pleasant and helpful. Definitely coming back.

100% This is the best fast Food chicken in Lexington. Everytime I Eat here, I Love it. Wide variety on the Menu, The chicken is the Best, Juicy, But not greasy and Flavorful. I'm personaly not a Fan of greens, But every time I go, I HAVE to get the greens. The workers are always Super Friendly, And it doesn't take long for them to cook the food. Best part at least for me? They're local, And fair Priced. The Resturaunt is in a nice Quit corner near the Ophelia Salon. I would REALY Recomend this place for the best fried chicken you'll ever have. DO NOT Listen to the 1 Star reviews!
