Grimes's Fast Food

I love this place. Pretty cheap, good food, literally every thing you get on your plate is good. Prepare to eat your entire day's worth of calories (or two) in a single meal. I usually get the fried catfish when I go!

Chicken is always good. Green bean's tastes like a plastic straw. 3 pieces and 2 sides for $11 bucks, NOT!!!

I had really liked this place but the last 3 times I went there it was a disaster. I'm so surprised that the owners are letting these things happen. The peg legs and flats were my fav. I could eat the heck out of them, but not anymore. They seem old and brittle. The crust is ddrrryy! Nothing like the place I used to frequent constantly. I had single orders, family meals and catering The service is also not the same. These people they have working at night do not care about the business. Terrible attitudes and service. I know how difficult it is to control the quality of food 100% of the time, however, I would suggest an owner of some sort work a few night shifts. I've learned my lesson. I've given them 3 chances to show me anything has changed for the better. I am sure the hard working owners or managers would not disagree. I want the original Grimes back! The decor is zero. It's not meant to be a on-site restaurant so I do not need a swanky place to pick up my food.

Received a gift card from a colleague and stopped by this location to use it. Was told the gift card was not funded. However, there was no way to check balance. So, their system needs to be thought out more. Ordered a two piece Jack salmon meal with two sides: greens and green beans. The green beans were lukewarm and had very little seasoning. The greens were okay. The fish was very flavorful.

Went inside and ordered just chicken and it came out tasty and hot. Tried the regular and the spicy and walked out with 16 thighs. Everybody seem to enjoy it. The place was tidy and clean, and the staff was personable. they lived up to the other reviews that I had reviewed over the years.

Hot and fresh out the kitchen! Best fried chicken livers I have ever had! Keep it local and support these folks, great food, great prices.

Well, no this is not diet food. But it was NOT greasy!!! I stopped here because I am on the hunt for the best fried chicken in Lexington. I ordered the three chicken strips with one side and a dinner roll. The dinner roll was just a dinner roll, not bad, but not spectacular as far as dinner rolls go. My side was mashed potatoes and gravy. Good. Two plain strips and one spicy. Go ahead and order spicy, it is not too hot. The plain was good, but I felt like it might need a little salt although I don't need more salt in my diet. . Anyway, the entire meal was pretty yum!!!! I will come here again! The chicken was fried perfectly. ( not sure if they soak it in buttermilk, it could have been a touch more tender. ). Still, this chicken is delicious enough to keep you thinking about it and coming back for more!!! So , YES, five stars!!!

1/5. No frills restaurant. Usually hole in the wall is the best food but no, this was Lunchroom food. Sorry. Not sorry.

I love this gem of a business. I use the drive-thru. Mostly then you park and they bring the food to your car. It never takes very long. Everyone I had contact with was friendly and had a SMILE. (Which sadly, can be rare nowadays). I absolutely love the fried mushrooms and fried green tomatoes. Also, love the chicken strips and fish sandwich. You cannot beat the prices. I am very glad I found this restaurant.

Today I placed a rather large order via UberEats. Through no fault of either mine or the Grimes owner, the order was misplaced. The restaurant quickly came up with a plan for me to have what all I needed in the time frame I needed it in and I was able to provide a delicious lunch on time for the CEO of the company for which I work and several other co workers! I appreciated the kindness I was shown at Grimes and the professional way this situation was handled not only by the owner but also by the other folks who were working there at the time! In this day and age, that kind of customer service is almost unheard of but apparently is just a given at Grimes!
