Mom and pop diner serving good food for a reasonable price.We occasionally visit relatives in North Vernon. This was our second time having lunch here.Good old stick to your ribs food. Nothing fancy or pretentious here.I had the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and Cole Slaw. The pot roast was fork tender and pretty good. Mashed potatoes were decent and I really liked the Cole slaw. Their Cole slaw is the 'creamy' style. The cabbage is cut very finely. I did enjoy it.My wife had the breaded tenderloin sandwich with fries. She proclaimed the Tenderloin the best she's had. Crispy outside, tender inside. She ordered her fries crispy but they were served flabby.This is one of the few restaurants that prices are still reasonable. Meal and drinks (tea) average $12 a person.Service was excellent. We are looking forward to returning and both ordering the Tenderloin sandwich.

Here on vacay and found this place. No frills, just a good, casual, down home cooking spot. Tenderloin and Alaskan White Fish we're good and friendly service.

My wife and I were able to eat there today and it was very good. Nice open seating areas with booths and tables. Spacious parking lot. I had the Chopped Steak that came smothered in sauteed onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. Sides were mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. My wife had the Garden Chicken Salad. All were delicious. Food came out in timely manner. The portions were correctly sized, not too much and not to small. Generous amount of tender chicken on the wife's salad. Service was excellent and both servers were very friendly. Price was consistent on what one would pay for comparable meal at similar places. Definitely recommend and we will certainly be back.

Good food. Good atmosphere. Laid back. Was good to find a restaurant like this. Laid back atmosphere service was a littleSlow but we came at 6:30 on a Sunday I'd recommend trying the roast beef. As delicious

Grateful Grub is one of my favorite places to eat in North Vernon. They have variety of items to choose from on their menu and are open for lunch and dinner. My favorites are their fried mushrooms, macaroni salad, and breaded tenderloin sandwich. They also have a good chef salad and have homemade pies available. My fiancé and I just ate there when we were in town visiting family during the holidays. We shared a breaded tenderloin sandwich and ordered an extra bun and extra condiments. Their tenderloin sandwiches are definitely large enough to split with someone. If you're in North Vernon and want a good tenderloin sandwich, I highly recommend Grateful Grub.

Off the beaten path for us but well worth the trip. Very peaceful location overlooking park and lake. Clean and staff wearing masks and practicing social distancing. The decor is minimal with 50's style black and red booths. The tables have inspirational messages, the music is country / religious. Not in your face but background music. The staff friendly and efficient. Great menu with sandwiches wraps salads and more. For the two of us a Mushroom burger with fries, buffalo chicken sandwich with fries 2 drinks and fried cheese sticks with tax was just $26. The portions were generous too! My chicken was to too big for the bun! And my husband who can usually eat 2 entrees took half his burger to go. Very family friendly, as we saw local coming in to celebrate birthdays and stopping in after soccer practice. Hopefully we can get back here again.

If you enjoy deep fried foods that are extremely salty, you will love this. We ordered several different items off the menu. None of us were satisfied with what we got. Service was fine. No issues there. Restaurant was clean for the most part. Do not plan on returning.

Excellent service - delicious food !! Try the fish and tenderloins. Fav thing is their hand breaded fried Mushrooms !!!

So saw really good reviews but just not even close to what I saw. The service was bad and the host/ server was rude. We didn't even get waited on until 20 minutes of sitting there, and on top of that our food took over 40 minutes to come out. Pretty crazy wait time for dinner level food. The food was overly salty and the "buttered" red potatoes had probably a negative amount of butter. Not too expensive of a meal but even still wouldn't pay as much as I did for this meal. Sorry if this review sucks but just wanted to share my really bad experience at this place.

Pepper ball is good but as in general foods is Ok-ok not the best but good..If you haven't then I would recommend to try it you might like the better than I do :)
