My husband recently stayed at French Lick for a work retreat, so when the whole family came back to stay at West Baden for a holiday trip, he insisted we venture over to French Lick for the brunch buffet at the Grand Colonnade Restaurant. It had been a highlight for him. And all in all, I'm so glad we listened to him. My family was able to find a good brunch. We got a table without a wait -- a bit of a surprise considering how much of a wait other resort restaurants can have. And this buffet had lots of what you would expect: bacon, eggs, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, drinks and made-to-order omelets and waffles. Also, I think I saw this mentioned in another review -- get the chocolate milk! I'm not sure what was special about it, but I had had like three glasses of it. It was cold and sweet and just perfect. Our server also kept the coffee flowing -- much appreciated! Especially if you have a family who has lots of opinions over what they want to eat for breakfast, this is a great option to have.

Beautiful. Gorgeous. Spectacular! The Grand Colonnade Room is all these things. Who doesn't want to have a delicious breakfast in a Bridgerton like room?We got the buffet at $21 a person the price was right for the huge selection of food. The buffet had all of your usual suspects like sausage, bacon, eggs, cereal, and an omelette station. It also had biscuits and gravy, juice, a yogurt station, a fruit station, and what I think may have been a smoothie station? Don't quote me on that last one.Drinks include Coke products, coffee, apple juice, pineapple juice, and I believe tea. We will definitely be coming back for breakfast every time we visit French Lick.

I'd say Golden Corral quality food at resort prices. That might be an insult to Golden Corral, though. Food was mostly old snd cold. The oatmeal looked like it had been sitting there for days. Nothing was more than lukewarm. There was an omelet station that I didn't try and s guy making made to order waffles. Servers weren't particularly friendly or attentive. All they did was is seat you and bring coffee but that must be a chore. The atmosphere, like the resort, is Las Vegas style buffet setting.

First, I must say that The French Lick Resort is amazing, and this restaurant in the lower level is the perfect example of all that is terrific about it! It's such a pretty space and feels like where you would eat breakfast if you were glamping and stumbled upon the perfect dining spot! There is just the perfect variety and amount of offerings. I had a biscuit and gravy with a few dashes of Tabasco, scrambled eggs, delicious and cheesy potato casserole, crispy bacon, a sausage link, and the best (constructed by me) yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, house made granola, toasted coconut, almonds and raisins. Oh, and a slice of moist and tasty banana bread! Two cups of coffee, too! A fantastic breakfast! Plus, all of the folks behind the counter and clearing dishes were super friendly! I can't wait to go back to French Lick -- and the Grand Colonnade for breakfast is a must-repeat!

Apart from the omelette and waffle stations, the breakfast/brunch is unremarkable and way overpriced, which is a huge bummer. We've been coming to the hotel for long enough to remember when the breakfast was consistently great and something the kids looked forward to on every trip. Now I'd put it just above the free breakfast you get for staying at other hotels and below a Denny's or Bob Evans. The omelette guys have been here through it all, year after year, and continue to carry the team. It's just too bad there aren't any other good breakfast options in French Lick.

Our server was very friendly and the best part about our breakfast experience.I had several items from the buffet. The eggs were the best I've had off of a buffet. They were fluffy and delicious. The bacon and sausage link was good. The hashbrowns and hashbrown casserole were great. The grits were pretty good but it was hard to get them in the bowl. They had slotted spoons in the grits and oatmeal so it was difficult to get them in the bowl before they went through the spoon. I was also disappointed that they ran out of French Toast and there weren't any pancakes so only bread choices were biscuits, muffins, and some type what looked like banana bread maybe. Most of the food was good. I just with they would have had a few more options and less empty pans. There was also an omelet station which looked cool but I didn't try the omelet. The highlight of our breakfast was our server. I was thankful they weren't very busy so we got right in because I was hungry.

Yummy spot for a breakfast buffet while staying at French Lick! They have a wide variety and everything seemed hot and fresh. I used to feel like I didn't eat enough food to make buffets worth it but decided that half the fun is the variety you can get. They will also make you waffles and French toast is offered on the bar. They had different types of hash brown casseroles and regular eggs plus eggs mixed with other things. I don't remember a ton of meat offerings but there was definitely bacon!!

I'm giving this place five stars even though it was closed when I was there. Nevertheless, it inspired me to Google "colonnade". Which isn't what you think. It's about architecture. So any place you can get a buffet and learn new words, that's a good restaurant. I'm not holding the fact that they were closed against them. That was my problem, not theirs.

There seems to be a lot of hate for this restaurant, but I really liked it. There were a lot of choices, and the omelette stand was quick and created a delicious product with lots of options. They also will make pancakes and waffles to order, and the coffee and drinks are plentiful and included. The biscuits and gravy, potatoes, and eggs were fine. It wasn't a spectacular dining experience, but it filled me up, I got my moneys worth, and it is very convenient when staying in the resort. Twenty dollars per person.

We really enjoyed our breakfast at the Colonnade buffet in French lick resort. The architecture was the most beautiful I've ever seen. I thought some of these reviews were really harsh. I felt that they had a above normal fair that you see any type of hotel. It takes a lot to keep these things running. There's a lot of people that they serve us and I thought the service they had did a good job. We got plenty of refills. They came back to ask if you wanted more we were happy to tip them. They bring you coffee and tea, the Jesus self serve that there's every kind you would wantThe casseroles were very good and hot. The sausage was chicken. It was not greasy at all and they had bacon for those who wanted it. The omelette was beautiful and had a lot of choices for vegetables and add ins. Miniature cinnamon buns and the flavor was incredible and they weren't dry at all. They had a hot icing on them. We could take our refillable water bottles get as much ice and water as we wanted for the road Priced at $21 a person you couldn't have more beautiful ambience you paid upfront like a Vegas style buffet Easy peasy! Enjoy this lovely buffet !
