Dive bar/neighborhood vibes. Nothing fancy but burgers are excellent. Mexican burger was layered with sweet ham, jalepenos, a cilantro mayo, and a THICC patty. Grab a beer and burger and you won't be disappointed

It has been a few years since we had dinner at GORDO's and nothing has changed. The menu is exactly the same and the Burgers, oh the Burgers, they are every bit as good as I remembered. Service is always excellent. I remember the first time I was here about 15 years ago. From the outside GORDO's doesn't look like much, but it is cozy inside and the burgers are spectacular. It is only about 3 blocks from Xavier University and I have always seen families with young kids there too.

Went to the cider yelp event nearby and came here at the suggestion of my son from reddit. Burgers were huge! Fried pickles spears and pork bell tacos were excellent. My IPA burger was very good. I would have liked more cheese fondue on it. My son got the same burger and my wife got the French burger. This was all of our first times and left happy and satisfied.

We started off on the patio out back & enjoyed the sunshine till the cool chased us inside. But as a first time patron, this was nice to experience the outside and inside experience! Inside was larger than I had expected from street view and side parking lot view! Our waitress was great in answering my menu questions, explaining my options, and she gave good check-in care without interrupting our table conversation. The GFAT burger was delicious with pulled pork, boq sauce, bacon, cheese, crispy onions on top of my beef patty! Rather than fries I upgraded to a"small" (the portion was very generous) of the pear, walnut, & bleu cheese salad. That pink dressing was so fresh & citrusy!Sweet tea was most definitely super sweet. On my repeat trip, l'd like to try the poached pear grilled cheese & substitute in cheddar rather than brie.

It's places like this, that give you hope for America. The delight that you receive from the gloriously towering burgers to the wonderfully charming staff, (Ashland and Wendy for example!) make you want to make that extra drive to have a piece of yesteryear quality and character that only a rustic pub like this can deliver...only when the owner, chef and staff line it all up with a commitment to joy in heart and on the table. Great steaks are like great men, the best ones have a little fat on them, and this burger meat has the perfect balance. The Wallendas Bros. would be proud. Ashland is so energetic the Energizer Bunny sends her hate mail. I like her.

If you didn't know Gordo's Pub & Bar was in Norwood on Montgomery Road across from the library, you'd pass it and never see it. The outside is extremely unassuming.Once you walk in, however, you're greeted with a nicely updated bar/restaurant. The tables are solid and include a mix of traditional tables and high tops. Our server was extraordinary. She was very helpful and always had a smile. She really made the dining experience special. She guided us to the Mushroom appetizer, which was unexpected and absolutely delicious. I didn't read the description and was expecting standard fried mushrooms. I was SO wrong! The dish was a fantastic mixture of mushrooms and cheese served with thin sliced baguettes. I highly recommend this dish! The server also recommended getting a burger, explaining they are known for their burgers. I opted for the IPA Burger with fries. The fries were thick cut and tasty, with just the right amount of salt. All of our burgers were massive. We asked for recommendations on how to attack eating it. Our server explained the approach is very personal and everyone does it differently. After a quick try of eating my burger in the traditional way, I opted to cut it up with a knife and fork. It was simply too big and the juiciness of the burger rendered the bun quite wet. For me, cutting it up was the way to go. The beer selection is as large as their burgers. I didn't ask if they had any non-alcoholic options (there were none on the menu). We generally stick with water or tea, so it wasn't really an issue. That said, if you enjoy a beer with you burger, there are plenty to choose from.I'd definitely come back.

Don't do it. Greasy food, dry burgers, the worst fries. Terrible ambiance. Expensive for what it is. 2 stars for offering sides of vegetables.

I'm always up for a good burger, so my wife and I decided to try this place out. Unfortunately, we had a rather poor experience. We were seated quickly and had a quick look at the menu. We decided to splurge on an appetizer, and the egg rolls sounded quite tasty. My wife opted for a beer as well. Honestly most of the burgers sounded good, but I landed on the Korean and she got the Jean Robert. The egg rolls were brought out probably ten minutes later. We dove right in, and both agreed that they were good, but not spectacular. They were crispy, but under-seasoned. The flavor was improved with the soy sauce and pickled onions that came alongside the dish, but still it seemed to lack a little something. We gave them 3 stars. As for the burgers, there were a couple red flags. First, I ordered mine cooked medium, and my wife went to order medium rare, but the waitress warned us that their burgers "tend to run a bit more rare." This essentially means that the cook doesn't know how to cook them properly. The second red flag was how the burgers looked. The patties were probably 2-3 inches thick. Not only did this mean they weren't wide enough for the bun, and they were too tall to eat effectively, but that, as anticipated, they were not cooked correctly. After a bite or two into the burger, I noticed it was very red, fully rare in parts. Though the burger was so thick that in other parts it was well done and even burnt. I've never had a burger that was both overcooked to char and undercooked, practically raw. My wife had the exact same quality of cooking on her burger. On top of that, the Korean burger featured a sriracha mayo--tasty but very sparse--pork belly--burnt to being dry and unchewable--and a fried egg that was undercooked and included viscous raw egg white. Finally, almost everything was bland and unsalted. The fries were a bit under-seasoned, but mostly fine. Our server was present and attentive until we received our burgers, at which point she was gone for 20-30 minutes, which left us waiting a while to get the check.

A dive bar with amazing burgers. Parking lot next to the restaurant. Good service. This will be my new go-to place for burgers. The patties are thick and the toppings are unique. Steak cut fries were fresh and crispy. Highly recommend!
