Goodfellas Pizzeria - Baxter Ave.

Updating my review because we recently ordered from Goodfellas again, this time when we were at Hi-Wire Brewing next door.And this pizza was downright delightful! I would happily order this again!We got a selection of pizza to appease everyone in our group. "The Vinny" white pizza was my favorite. I'm a big fan of Spinelli's white pizza, and this was just as good as that. I loved the Goodfellas crust, which was chewy and baked perfectly.I also had a piece or three of the cheese bread. My kids loved this as well. Ordering was easy to do via the app. Our pizza were prepared quickly. Claps all around!

Counter service only which means you get the entire order at the same time - IF you get it at all. Our two pizzas & order of bread sticks took one hour & we had to go to the counter to ask why we had not received our order. They were not that busy & everyone around us who arrived after us got their order before us.We had drinks from the bar & they were good. Old Fashioneds were excellent. Bread sticks are essentially a pizza not bread stick. They were ok but would prefer they be a bread stick. We ordered a sausage & onion pizza. Each slice had one small piece of sausage on it. Really?The four of us eat at a different pizza restaurant twice a month & rate them in several areas. Goodfellas did not receive a good overall rating from us due to them loosing our order.

Always a good slice to be had. No matter what you like. If you don't see it on the menu. They'll custom make you a slice. Great place, good staff and fun atmosphere.

Goodfellas is a gem on Baxter Avenue. I moved to Louisville from Lexington, and was very happy when this opened at the corner of Broadway and Baxter. The inside is very welcoming, full of light, and fits in well with the neighborhood.While it's known for food, I think what makes this place special is the cocktail menu. They have top notch offerings you won't find anywhere else. The Wooden Nickel, which comes with some crowd pleasing smoke, is my absolute favorite. I ordered a paper plane and Aperol Spritz when we went on a Thursday, and both were only $6 each! Incredible deal. If you're in the area on a Friday or Saturday, I can't recommend checking out Wiseguy Lounge enough. The bartender is phenomenal and will find you a drink you will like. And for the caliber of ingredients and drinks, the prices are very reasonable.The pizza is not the greatest in the world, but it tastes pretty good for NY slice, and even better after a beer. If you want to eat in a hurry, there's usually pepperoni and cheese ready on demand. This is also right in the middle of an extremely walkable area. Enjoy!

Everything is always amazing at Goodfellas. The drinks are so uniquely crafted and the staff is always incredibly friendly. The pizza is hands down the best in this town. The perfect slice every time!! I highly recommend experiencing this wonderful place.

We drive by this spot on the corner of Baxter avenue often and always see people sitting outside eating. My son and I had a chance to actually eat there today. You order at counter and they bring you your food. They have a great lunch special, $10 including a drink. Tonight we ordered a 12" Goodfella specialty pie and meatballs. My son also had to have a giant chocolate chip cookie. Per my 15 year old, who is a pizza enthusiast, said mom this so the best pizza I ever had. He ate all but one slice of. 12" pie. Seating area at tables or more casual area with couches. We spent about an hour and half there, I was able to use their WiFi and work while we ate. This is now one of our favorites. There is a parking garage behind the building that offers free parking.

Our second visit to Goodfellas. Disappointing. My visit this week to Sbarro Pizza in the mall kiosk ranked better.Ironically, on our first visit they forgot our pizza was in the oven and only realized it was burnt to a crisp when we finally questioned the wait. This visit was no different. We again had to hunt down our order and then were told there had "been a situation". The pizza we did get was burnt on the bottom, and not because of the natural browning from the oven. Despite the cheese and toppings the char taste came through. After waiting for so long to get it we didn't complain for another remake, but why come back if this is the food quality? -- not to mention their team didn't proactively come to our table to explain the wait or make sure we were happy with the pizza. Two stars for the interior and patio, plus large breadsticks already made and easy for them to heat up quickly. I hate when it feels like we waste our money on bad food.

The slices are huge and have that perfect, floppy, New York style crust. My slice was the pesto, spinach, mushrooms. I usually go with Margarita for my first time trying a new place, but they were out at the time. I also tried the caprese salad (very fresh and a perfect portion, but it definitely needed a little bit of balsamic) and the breadstick which was as big as a baguette, soft, warm, so freaking good.The staff were very pleasant and the interior is modern and comfortable. I used to live a block away from here and I am so glad I moved before this place opened because I would be 500 pounds! I will be back for sure

Good food, vibes and ambiance. Everytime I come here I feel like family and at home. These guys do their thing here day in and out.

great atmosphere best in town. I'm a foodie and go everywhere. I've tried everything they got cold beer and great pizza. and nba jam if you played games in the early 90's you know you're missing it. definitely worth a try!!!!
