George J On the Square

OK... Let's put our time travel hats on and go back to about 1986!... My wife and I had breakfast at this restaurant this morning. It has the decor of an old red white and black diner. What is very unusual, is the prices of the food!... Take a look at my picture of the menu and you will see why I saw it's 1986! That was a very large positive for me considering that the food was tasty and it was well prepared. My wife had some eggs and biscuits and gravy which she said was very good and I had a couple eggs and some oatmeal. And the oatmeal was good oatmeal. Our server was nice and very attentive. I have to tell you, if you want a good breakfast at a very, very, very reasonable price, come to this restaurant cause I definitely recommend it!

Food and water were good, Service is amazing there. Ambiance is alright isn't to bad but I mean, we were there at morning time so wasn't too busy, but it was good

They make a good breakfast and have great service. I don't know why people are so harsh on them. It isn't a Chicago boutique. Service was quick. Food was delicious and the bread might be my favorite part.

I'm being generous on the stars. Let's start with the negative:There is 1 woman working doing it all! Food takes a while. Sausage gravy is thick and bland. Coffee is weak. For the positives:That 1 woman does a great job. She's super nice. The food is made to order, at least the pancakes and meat is. It could be really cute. It's huge. I think there has to be better places to eat.

When you walk in the moldy mildew smell slaps you in the face. Meal was OK, but the service was so slow. Only 4 customers and we spent an hour and a half there just to have breakfast.

Best black bean burger!!**********I debated between three and four stars...decided on three as there is basically one entree I am able to get (though the taste is outstanding). would have gone with four with more vegan options (like a pasta that could be quickly done with veggies, etc).***********As a vegan, I must say this isn't the first place I would go for food...however in Glasgow there are many places to choose from with any sort of options that can be veganized without ending up with a salad. Again.My first time here, the staff were all helpful in answering questions about the menu choices. The chef even came out to help identify something that would be good. After some deliberation, I decided on the black bean burger, without the bun (it contained egg). I have no idea which spices exactly are used on this burger, but it rocks! Even my husband agrees that this is quite possibly the best black bean burger we've ever had! (If we get our orders to go, I like to take some vegan blue cheese crumbles and place on top...talk about a winner!!)The ladies working out front are always friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to see every time I'm there! The service is great, food consistent (not to mention yummy), and each trip has been rated as a *success* in my book!For non-vegans...the rest of the menu looks quite interesting. My family enjoys eating there and the few non-vegan items my husband has tried while in town have been a hit with him as well.Thanks, George J's, for giving me a great lunch option without having to leave Glasgow!!*********open for breakfast and lunch (not sure what time they close)believe they do have some alcoholic beverages availableseems quite popular with the downtown crowd*********my only wish: there were more vegan or vegan-friendly options...but given this is a small town I do not really expect for this to become a reality.

Wonderful team of good people. Solid breakfast menu and bottomless cup of coffee. I would recommend a breakfast anytime.

This place is terrible. My servers gut folded over the top of her little sisters jeans and got in the way of her serving an awful burger.

George J on the square has the best breakfast!! Yes it does take a while, but great food is worth the wait. Thank you ladies for always taking care of us! We just moved to Glasgow and try to make it in weekly

Save your time and go anywhere else. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and there were only 4 customers in the restaurant and it took over 40 minutes to get our food. I wouldn't have minded the wait, but with kids they are hungry and wanted to eat. Also, our server never checked in on during the 40 minute wait. There are plenty of other options in Glasgow and even on the square. Do yourself a favor and go to Subway or the Fine Arts Bistro.
