Who knew that Louis is soooo cute! I LOVE this hotel! In the heart of the city with LOTS to do and too many restaurants to count! If ever in the area, please come here! Ask for the West Tower, go to the gym inside the hotel and enjoy the bourbon since that's what Kentucky is known for. Please let me know your thoughts. One hiccup: The thermostats in the rooms are a little difficult to maneuver. I had to call maintenance because I was freezing. The hotel sets it to 68 degrees. However, Trayvion came up and showed me how to work it, and everything was great. I did have to go down to the lobby b/c the front desk didn't answer their phone. So I'm giving 4/5 stars.

The one star is for the MANY issues with the Parking garage. Before I explain that though, I give TEN Stars to Miss Patricia!!! She helped me not one time, but THREE times the Early morning and early afternoon of Sunday March 2, 2025.***Ending part: There was a young man that walked by during this that DID try to help but I didn't get his name. When I tried to scan my ticket and tried to pay, it came up $10.00 but it wouldn't give me a receipt and the gate lift wouldn't go up. The charge is ON my Credit card, Even though MISS PATRICIA had to get the gate to open for me. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE that she had to do that and that I was CHARGED, COULDN'T GET A RECEIPT AND THE GATE WOULDN'T LIFT. I was attending a High School basketball event at the YUM Center. Before I ever decided to park at the Galt House parking garage, I had called them and asked them, about 8 days prior to the event, to MAKE SURE that the Pedway that goes to the YUM center would be available on Sunday March 2, 2025. I was told on the phone that it was ALWAYS available. I was thankful to hear that as I didn't want to park at YUM Center, I wanted to park at the Galt House and use the Pedway. I was able to get a spot very close to that Pedway door. It was LOCKED! I called the front desk and asked for assistance. They were "nice" OVER THE PHONE. They sent Miss Patrica, who was ALSO under the impression that the Pedway should be accessible. She came to my car and we walked over to to the Pedway Door together! She couldn't get the door open either! She said she didn't know why it would be locked. She was kind enough to help me figure out how to get from the forth floor level of the parking garage, from which I walked to the YUM center in FRIDID Temperatures with NO jacket or coat as I THOUGHT I was going to have access to the Pedway. When the event was over, I walked back outside again in FRIDIG temperatures to the parking garage, got on the Elevator and there was NO level FOUR to go to. I went up to the 3rd floor thinking I could walk up to level four but NOTHING looked familiar and I couldn't figure how to find the stairs. (the men downstairs, which is later in this review, told me that I should have been able to see my car from the 3rd level, not only was THAT ABSURD, I didn't even see the PEDWAY DOORS, WHERE MY CAR HAD BEEN PARKED NEAR!). NOTHING on that THIRD level was clearly marked. So, I went back outside, walked all the way down to the Main Lobby of the Galt House, IN THE COLD! Before I asked for assistance I sat down at a table to try to compose myself. When I approached a desk area, it wasn't the area where you check in at, it was something else, there were 2 "gentlemen" that half-heartedly gave me some information. I guess they go through this all the time and get tired of having to tell people. I hope this NEVER happens to either one of their wives or daughters, when they go somewhere! At this point I was SO COLD and SO TIRED and I had to go to the bathroom really badly, which I couldn't do, because I wasn't a guest of the Hotel so I didn't have a key card to get into the ladies room.As I stood there trying to explain that I wasn't understanding what they were telling me, I was just about in TEARS. I finally swallowed my pride and I asked if someone could PLEASE physically help me get back to my car! I would have thought that those 2 men could have seen the distress that I was in and actually OFFERED for someone to assist me, but they didn't. That is VERY LACKING in any kind of professionalism but more so, that is lacking in common courtesy and decency to at least try to go one step further to help someone who is alone, downtown, confused and in distress. I spoke to them as politely as I could. I WISH I had asked them their names but I was thinking on that at the time. The ONLY person that made this trip downtown tolerable and helpful was MISS PATRICIA! I APPRECIATE SO MUCH THAT SHE WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP ME THREE TIMES! The rest of the people at the Galt House need some sort of refresher course in Customer Services. I've read the reviews on how the rooms are there and from the sounds of it, it's not a place I ever want to stay at or go to EVER AGAIN! Shame on you Galt House for telling me over the phone that the PEDWAY would be available and it wasn't! The Lobby is BEAUTIFUL but don't let that fool you. Believe the reviews on where some people have said the rooms are bad. I grew up in Louisville and I LOVE Louisville. I've never had such a disappointing time going downtown as I did today at THE GALT HOUSE

Stayed at the Galt House in Louisville, drawn by its prime location and reputation as a historic hotel. The views from the hotel are indeed impressive, especially overlooking the Ohio River. Its central location makes it easy to explore nearby attractions and enjoy the downtown vibe. However, the rooms were a letdown. They felt old and didn't smell that great, which was quite off-putting. The lobby also had a strange scent--I'm not sure if it's the hotel's signature fragrance, but it wasn't to my liking. It might be time for some renovations to freshen things up.On the plus side, parking can be conveniently added to your room bill, which simplifies the stay. The staff were courteous, and check-in was smooth, which I appreciated after a long day of travel.Pros:- Excellent downtown location- Beautiful views of the Ohio River- Convenient parking options- Friendly staffCons:- Outdated rooms with an unpleasant smell- Lobby had a strange scent- Could use some renovationOverall, while the Galt House has its charms and a great location, the state of the rooms and the odd smells were significant drawbacks for me. Hoping they consider updates to enhance the guest experience.

The Galt House is nice my stars are based on a Price to star ratio because it's expensive to stay at it should be very very upscale. The location is its best attribute. The beds are not that comfortable by comparison to A Holiday Inn Express or a Marriott. The coffee is good the lobby though. There are plenty of bars and the food in the bar is actually cheaper than the restaurants around this place. I enjoyed my 3 night stay in the Galt House

We have visited here multiple times through the years, including when it was the Rivue with the dual rotating dining areas atop the tower during Thunder Over Louisville. It was also fascinating to have views of the command station for the fireworks and air show. It affords spectacular views of the bridges and Falls of the Ohio, as well as southern Indiana shoreline and also the Belvedere at street level directly below. We have also enjoyed spectacular sunsets while dining on special occasions. Looking forward to a future visit to check out the most recent remodel projects.

Still probably the best place to stay in Louisville. Great location, friendly staff, excellent views of the city and the Ohio. There are a lot of great restaurants and bars on site as well as within walking distance. The gym and pool are nice. Rooms are decent-- nice bedding, decent water pressure, in room AC works well. Carpet and blinds could use an upgrade and there are aspects of the building growing outdated, but not overbearingly so.

Massive hotel on the river. It's within walking distance or a quick Uber to nearby restaurants. The hotel has restaurants as well if you rather stay in. I was here for a conference for the week, so was able to explore each restaurant, bar and spa within the hotel. I will review those in a separate review. There is a trolly that also picks up at this hotel, that gives a tour of the area. It also brings you to Church Hill Downs to see the track, gift shop and area. It doesn't stay very long though. The hotel room was spacious. I had a living room, lady bathroom/shower, and the room was big. My shower did not have soap, and when I asked for soap I was told the hotel was out of soap. They did provide a bar of soap at that point. Same for toilet paper. I was told the hotel was out. Thankfully there was tissue paper in the room. Odd to be out of those two major necessities. I tried calling for service, however the phone just rang. Same for trying to reach the front desk. Glad it wasn't an emergency. My room did not have a do not disturb sign. That was rough. I got one after trying to take a nap, and having a quick knock on the door and here came a room attendant walking in as I was walking to the door. This happened in one day four times within 3 hours. Definitely make sure you have a do not disturb sign. My view was of a roof and a small window. Friends had grand views of the river. If you want a view, make sure you request one. I still give this hotel four stars for the restaurants and bars within. I would stay here again. I would just have requests at check in that would make my stay more comfortable. The sheets are not the most comfortable. They were cold. So no matter what temperature the room was, it was hard to sleep because the sheets were not comfortable. Bring a blanket with you if you can. That or request one. In one of the photos you will see the hand soap was locked down. So it was not able to be used. I walked down to CVS and grabbed water for the room, and soap for the room. There are homeless people around the streets. Bring sneakers, you will be doing a lot of walking from each tower. Definitely explore the restaurants. Enjoy!

Large downtown hotel; they had construction/painting when we were there, and our reserved conference space was not contiguous. Lines for the elevators were verrry long, especially around lunchtime. Hotel had lots of fun painted horses and multiple restaurant options. It was also located next to the river, so many of the rooms had good views. The room was cleaned every day, which was a surprise given that many hotels reduced services during COVID.

While on our way to Louisville, KY I looked up hotels for the night we would be arriving. We came across Galt House Hotel. It appeared to be right in downtown Louisville. They had two queen sized beds, in the prime location which is really all we cared about. We stayed here for one night December 29th - 30th. The nightly room rate was $117. This was a really nice hotel in downtown Louisville, then I remembered, I totally forgot to check what they charge for parking. I went back to my booking and saw it's $30 a night. I just didn't want to believe it, so I called Galt House Hotel to verify, and sure enough it was $30.As soon as we arrived in downtown, in the very center was The Galt! My friend dropped me off with our luggage while she went to look for a more affordable parking option. The front lobby was beautiful! It had massive sparkling chandeliers, it was super clean, the marble floors were basically reflective. I went to the front desk to check in. The man who checked me in was very friendly, but I wish I had listened to him when he told me how to get to my room. My room was on the 10th floor, room 1009.You don't just go to the 10th floor and take it from there. That's what I did, then I realized the man was telling me this because there's a bit more to it.To arrive to my room I had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor, then take the long hallway they call the "west wing" then take the elevator to the 10th floor. The hallways were all spotless clean. Our room was big with two very comfy queen beds. It had a huge window where you could see all of Louisville from up high. The bathroom was also pretty spacious, with a really nice shower, and plenty of plush white towels. There were double sinks in the bathroom. We also had a safe, a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board, a fridge and a coffee maker in the room. There was plenty of storage space in the dresser as well as hangers in the closet. We had no issue with the TV. The room was quiet, we couldn't hear any of our neighbors. We both slept very well. Check out was at 11:00. My only minor disappointment was the $30 parking fee. We found parking a few blocks away for $11. Forget finding parking on the street, that is very unlikely. We were both very pleased with our stay at the Galt House Hotel in the beautiful city of Louisville, KY. I would for sure stay here in the future.

Stayed with my spouse for a night while in town for a funeral. Everything was fantastic. Very clean, spacious, friendly staff, nice amenities. And as everyone is saying - the views are amazing. We're looking forward to staying there again when we visit family in Louisville in the future.
