Took my beloved grandmother here for dinner this past winter. Grandma/grandson date. I imagined with a buffet, we could all find something to eat. Usual rural Illinois buffet, fried animals, green beans, sweet potato with marshmallows on top, unsightly casserole things. Need I continue? I was happy to find that most of it was marginally edible; not always the case at a buffet. But, on the noseguard was this sign posted in several locations: "You are welcome to eat as much as you like, but please eat everything you take. We will be forced to raise prices if food is thrown away," (not verbatim). I was able to stomach the chicken, but I got to the veggies, and they were bad. One of those things that looks ok, but really isn't once it's in the mouth. But, I would have felt guilty if I didn't clean my plate. I'd be responsible for raising everyone's prices! And they might be WATCHING ME! So, I forced it down. Old fashioned guilt buffet. Granny and I did have some ice cream, and, quite frankly, even though the weather was -12, ice cream was the only thing either of us cared about anyway. Finally, the buffet was reasonably priced. I think we paid $9 each.

I dont think a place like this would survive in a big city where there is competition but it survives fine in a small rural area like this.the food is generally good nothing great , its fine in the summer but is quite chilly in the winter, I cant image it costs much to heat a small place like this, the tables arent the cleanest because the dish rag they use to clean the tables with are dirtier than the table, so they dont as much as clean the table as just rearrange the grease.there is about 10 different plate styles and many of the cups and plates are chipped .the biggest problem is the closing hour changes from day to day depending how the owner feels that day.

Possibly the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at.They charge an arm and a leg for their buffet and only have a couple choices and a "I could have made this at home!" salad bar. The time I went the food was terrible. Not only do they charge a ton for the buffet but they also charge for refills too. Not cool!

I would have to agree with the first reviewer here. Now I don't mind paying good money for good food, but here that is just not the case.Typical buffet style food that you can get practically everywhere only not as good.To eat at this establishment would have definately had to have lost your sense of taste. Still trying to figure out how they are still in business.

Best comfort food around. Small, but very clean restaurant. The owner is usually on site. It is a buffet, but you can order from the menus, can't imagine not being able to find something delicious on the buffet though
