This is a great place to learn some stuff on glass blowing and also lets you lend a hand in developing your item. Mike and Paula are the owners and very customer friendly. Upon arrival to actually getting ready to pick out a piece and actual going into the shop to assist and learn what all goes into the process. Mike is exceptional as an teacher and instructor as you will find. He has a great resume and knows what he is doing. This is a smaller shop, however the output of designs is far from small. It is large on quality and creativity. Mike worked with each of us (a group of 4, 2 grandkids and 2 adults). Not only did we get first hand instructions and guidance, we were able to see other glassblowers in action. We ended up with 3 pumpkins and 1 snowman. Mike also gave provided us with some of the top universities that offer glassblowing and how to get started. It is a fairly tedious journey in learning all the in's and outs of glass blowing and design and what works and what doesn't.We were truly impressed and may look at Fire Studio and Gallery for some xmas presents. This might be a bit expensive art, however it is usually one of a kind and in personal gifts, that means a lot.

I took my parents here for a fun activity while they were in town. We all loved it. They were very informative. We got to pick out some peices and colors to create. We were right there for every step of our art and even got to blow to make the shape. It is all reasonably priced and you leave with your own masterpiece

We had a great time here. First, scheduling this experience was really easy. I called the studio, they provided me with options, we picked one. I was worried because it was so easy. I am under the impression from their website that you'd need an appointment to have the making experience. It could also be that I put this in my head or that we went in December. The place is easy to find, has dedicated parking, and costs less than other places in or around town. That isn't why it's the best value. The reason I'd tell you this is the best value is the diversity of options in what you can make and how you can make your glass. At other places in town where we've made our own ornaments you can pick colors but not add designs or textures to your ornaments. Here you could. This is an annual tradition for my mother's birthday so she did one with a striped pattern and I made one with texture. The artist who helped us explained every step of the process and was clear about how to do the hands-on portions. We had an excellent experience that ended up being different than the ones we've had before. They also had made items for sale in their gallery.

Very impressed with the facilities, staff and demonstration!I have visited other glass studios before- but I was very impressed with our visit here!We got to go behind-the-scenes and see how glass pieces are made. Our demonstration was detailed and up-close. We watched as the co-owner (forgive me, his name escapes me) created a dish. This process took about 15-20 minutes and it's an intriguing process to watch. He explained everything that goes into the process, from the furnaces to the heating and cooling, to the coloration process, to how to blow air into the glass, to how spinning the glass certain ways matters, and much more. We could ask questions, take pictures, and on some days you can blow a piece yourself. We were on a group package trip that was scheduled to visit another business afterwards, so we didn't have time for that last item. But we'd definitely like to come back and blow our own glass piece. The front room is gorgeous. There are prices of all shapes and kinds and colors to see. Some are available for purchase. There is glass incorporated into everything in the room. The reception desk is blown glass, the sitting area tables have pieces underneath them, there are glass pieces on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, and even the indoor plants have blown glass stuck in the dirt around them. You can also watch from the front room through a glass window as someone in the back is working in the hot shop. Love it!Highly recommend a visit!

This was my choice activity for a birthday celebration. Mike did an awesome job explaining the process and the challenges of glass blowing. He also shared different ways their glass products are used across the country. It was a very informative class. This studio gives you several choices of items to make which impacts the cost of your "tour". You also get to select the pattern and color. I think they provide a great variety. Just know, that mostly what you do is observe the craftsman and then "blow" into a tube when instructed. Mike handled all of the hot material, understandably. Our finished products were ready in about 48 hours but some will be ready in 24 hours. The products have to slowly cool completely to avoid cracking. My husband and I enjoyed walking through the gallery, our conversations with Mike, making of our ornaments and then watching Mike make other items (from their observation room). We highly recommend this for a good memory making activity.

Met our son for his birthday in Louisville and wanted something fun and memorable to do. This was perfect! There were 4 of us who participated in making three bowls and a pumpkin. They were absolutely gorgeous! Everyone had a great time. The owner was very patient with us answering all of our questions. It was a very memorable experience. So much fun, that I'm going to bring my Boy Scout troop from 4 hours away for an outing.

We visited the studio as part of our spring break. We're recent fans of Blown Away, and it was awesome to get a close up demo. Mike helped us design the pieces and then explained what he was doing every step of the way. Beautiful setup, everyone was super friendly, and the pieces in the shop are gorgeous. Mike is clearly a master of his craft. Worth the visit!!!
