Stopped for lunch when passing through I-65 south of Louisville, based solely on Yelp reviews. The restaurant is in an older less busy neighborhood as the cornerstone of an old stopping plaza. Don't let the exterior fool you though; there's a large and clean restaurant inside.Emilio's is the most authentic, fresh and tasty Mexican food I've had since I was last in El Paso for my cousin's home cooking. The menu is huge and almost overwhelming. So we had the day's specials, which were chicken flautas and carne asada. Both meals came with refried beans and rice. For a basket of very fresh tortilla chips and salsa was just an additional $2. The salsa was fantastic! The service was great- easy ordering and quick to the table.

The food is great! Lately have been eating the chicken and cheese nachos. They are always on point! They have lots of great food options. And the jalapeño.sauce they make from scratch in the fridge is perfect!

Went to Emilio's on 1/21/24 just after the snow, and was impressed by how clean the wood floor was! I ordered 3 carnitas for takeout. The food came out smelling delicious, and I got 2 free sauces. The service was awesome!

In the mood for some tacos and on the hunt for good Mexican food this place is it. Located on mud lane, it is in the far right corner of a shopping plaza behind the liquor store. The outside is deceiving, once you step in there is a huge restaurant with tons of seating. You place your order prior to sitting down at the counter. There is so much to choose from it's hard to narrow it down. Our final choices were chicken sopes, a steak torta with all the fixings, a birria taco, and some churros. Our take out order was promptly prepared. There is a large salsa fridge behind the drinks you can pick from to take home. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. I look forward to a return trip.

Spacious place. They play pleasant Mexican music from slow to upbeat. They have 3 TVs set to different stations. It looks like they also have sitting towards the back with more TVs. You can see the kitchen and the cooks when standing by the cash register. The kitchen looked organized from what I could see. The food wasn't bad at all, I would go back. After trying so many different restaurants you are always going to have that one that taste better than the other, so with that being said, thats why i say their food wasnt bad. They give you plenty of food for your money. They sit right in the silver heights behind the silver heights liquor store.

I stopped in here for a quick in and out taco experience today. I have been wanting to try Emilio's for a few months since they took over this location from Blue Lick Chicken and More. I walked in around 11:30 am and I was the only patron. I ordered at the counter with a man that did not welcome me or say anything we just looked at each other. I ordered a steak "Americano" and grilled chicken "Americano" taco. The steak was $3.75 and the Chicken was $3.50.I walked around for 5-7 minutes while I waited for the food. The atmosphere was very nice and they had cool decor all around. It was very neat a clean inside the establishment and they had 3-4 tvs with sports center playing on each, which I enjoyed watching. My order was up and I went to the truck to enjoy my two tacos. Opening the box I saw that both tacos were loaded with meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. They both looked great and smelled great. I took a bite of the meat first before the actual tacos on each. I really enjoyed the flavor and was excited to try the completed taco. I ate the steak first and it was excellent. The chicken one was next and it was also flavorful and tasty as well. I was super pumped.Food- 5/5 Both tacos are excellentAtmosphere- 5/5 has nice decor and cleanService- 2/5 really did not get any kind of service unfortunately (which is why its not a 5 overall)Price- 4/5- Not too bad of a price for two excellent tacos.Overall I highly recommend this and say go try it today.

Enilio's taqueria is a Mexican eatery in the okolona portion of Lousiville Kentucky tucked away in the back corner of silver heights shopping center off blue lick road. Former location of blue lick chicken and more and I believe I heard the worker say it actually the same owners. You walk inside and you order at a counter and take your seat in the dining area. Two things that stood out to me immediately is they don't have fountains sodas just bottles. Which eating spicy Mexican good one usually wants the ability to have free refills (blue lick chicken and more had same setup with no fountain sodas and to me it was the biggest knock on them). The second. Thing that stood out was no complimentary chips and salsa. That's a bummer for me on Mexican eateries. Free Chips and salsa is part of the big experience for me personally when eating authentic Mexican food . Me personally I went with a chicken quesadilla. Very large in size and stuffed with chicken. Very good flavor on the chicken (maybe they Carried over the chicken skills from the previous tenant). My only knock is they don't or didn't at this time have just a regular red salsa. The only red salsa they had was spicy and it packed a punch which to me took away some of the great at flavor of the quesadilla. My wife got the Mexican street corn and it was some of the best she has had. She also got a burrito plate and gave it a two thumbs up. Overall we were very satisfied with our food and service. The gentleman helping us was very nice and prompt. Good came out blazing fast and warm. Being a brand spanking new place it naturally has some kinks to work out. For me personally this place is an easy five star if it offers fountain drinks and mild salsa. Free chips and salsa would make it a place I add to the frequent rotation.

Chorizo taco is my favorite with the spicy green cream sauce. Lean and flavorful. Al pastor and spicy carnitas were also VERY good. Lomo was good but under seasoned. Birria taco is inferior to the quasadilla. Remember to ask for chips!
