El Tapatio

My only regret for my first visit was not ordering more tacos.For now on, this is a six (6) taco minimum order for me.

We had dinner here last night and the food was delicious! I'll be thinking about this meal until we go back. Our party had the chorizo pollo, hard shell ground beef tacos (the shells are amazing), the queso, and the chicken chimichangas. The salsa isn't my favorite- I like a thick salsa over watery salsa, and the margaritas are fine-not the best. Overall, I'd give it at 4.3!

This authentic Mexican restaurant is very tasty. Service was excellent a lot of really good food for the price. Tortilla chips brought to the table warm and salsa taste like it was just made fresh. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for good mexican

We LOVE Mexican food and we have learned that not all Mexican restaurants are equal. Our first time visiting the Tapatio restaurant in Versailles/Lexington and unfortunately it was not a four star experience. Very disappointed with the food and thank goodness the Staff was friendly. - that saved them. The parking lot was pretty dark and we couldn't figure it where the front door was (we are not familiar with area) so showing where the entrance would have been great! We order a side of guacamole and chips and salsa follow very promptly. The guacamole had a very different consistency (purée too much and looked like baby food) I even asked the waitress if the guacamole was made fresh and she said yes. That maybe , but the style and TASTE was NOT appealing to us. The salsa was ok and the nacho chips left me wondering if they were from that day or were old!? On a Positive note: The tacos of carne asada were crispy and has lots of meat on each taco-my husband was happy about that! I ordered the grilled chicken with a salad and it was ok. (I asked for extra lime and I was charged for the 3 or 4 extra lime wedges and I was NOT aware that I would be charge for them-...until I saw the bill) Another plus was that they had Mexican drinks like horchata and jarritos . We ordered the Mexican horchata! That was GOOD! It looks like a family run business and we really wish them success.

Nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. A couple of girlfriends and I enjoyed a few drinks and had a good time. The food was really good. Customer service was good. I would visit again if in the area.

The food here is very authentic. The service is wonderful, and the wait staff will make excellent recommendations. It is a hidden jewel in the middle of Versailles Kentucky.

My absolute favorite thing to get here is a chicken fajita. It's always well seasoned with fast service.Fills me up too I can't even finish it most times.

Food was good, salsa was tasty, drinks were ok, place was tiny. Fast service. Great when in a hurry.

El Tap's food is always fresh, hot, authentic and wait staff is awesome. Margaritas are excellent. It really is about the only Mexican restaurant I visit when I'm craving Mexican food (which is often ). Highly recommended!

This is our favorite Mexican place in Versailles. We go to El Tapatio several times a month. The food is great, as is the service, and the ambiance is festive and colorful. My favorite is the California Burrito and the Queso Flameado.
