I did not have the greatest experience. Ordering was confusing if you want any changes. Salsa was watered down. Beans came from a can. I think I will take the drive to Bedford and get something else. Def taking a break from this place. When you move I'll try again. Since we live in Indiana, we're known as a farm fresh community. I expect that in a local restaurant and unfortunately El compadre doesn't do it for us.

We called in a to-go order on our way out of town. We arrived a little early and it was ready when we arrived. Friendly staff. Good food. Chips and salsa were an included extra in our to-go meal! Only wish we had more napkins. Other than that, everything was packaged very nicely. Thanks for a great meal!

Nice place. Friendly service. Took a little long to get food for a Thur @ 7:30pm. Chips and salsa were good. The chicken "el burrito special" l had was ok; kinda bland. The steak "Big Burrito" my friend had was better probably because of the queso cheese all over it. Both dishes should have been served with beans and rice but weren't.

El compadres has been the first and longest standing Mexican joint in Paoli Indiana there fried ice cream is wonderful and I'm pretty sure they named a plate after me the gringo special it' means white boy speacial and it's steak and fries but I love there tacos I can eat twelve of em prolly great place I love it

Great food and the service wasn't as bad as I'd read about. We went on a Saturday night around 6:30 PM. Because Paoli isn't that big of a town, I didn't think it was that crowded. All the food was excellent: chips/salsa, beef burritos, tamales, taco, and chimichanga. I did try the guacamole and it was fine - nothing spectacular but it was fresh.I would visit here again.

Worst service ever! My friends and I stopped here for lunch after completing the Rugged Maniac at Paoli Peak. The race meant more people in restaurants, etc. Between that and having a group of 11 people, we expected a bit of a wait.We walked in and talked to a guy and he "went to check" on a table for us. After five minutes, we should have known better and left. Finally a female hotness seated us right away. After being seated, it took another 15 minutes to put in a drink order - at that point we just order s our food - and get baskets of chips & salsa. After being there for about an hour, the sides of sour cream, guacamole, and the cheese dip finally came. My best friend, who is 22 weeks pregnant, asked multiple times for us to get silverware. It was finally the hostess that seated is who got us refills of chips & salsa, as well as silverware. Another 15 minutes later our food arrived. It was just ok. After finishing our meal, we waited for our checks which never came and we were told to get them at the front register. The same poor hostess took care of us again. She was the only positive thing I can say about this restaurant. I'm glad I don't visit the area often because I will never set foot on there again. Avoid this place if possible.
