This is my kids go to pick for eating out. My favorite thing is the bento boxes, but of course those are only available during weekday lunches. We also love to eat here in the evening. The sushi, bibimbap, chips and salsa, daikon fries, salads, etc. is all so delicious! To top it off staff are always friendly and attentive while maintaining louisville flair. They recently finished the back patio which I can't wait to enjoy when it's nice out. The inside is cozy and kind of a speak easy appeal. Arguably the best part is this is the only restaurant in the city, that I know of, that has a bidet!

I've visited this place many times, and to be honest the sushi isn't to rave about IMO. There are multiple options in the city that do a better job. Seems to lack in flavor. I could do with a bit more sauce on their sushi, or even on the plate so you can use it on them. The one item that has me going back, and it will continue to unless they take it off the menu is the Lemongrass Miso Soup. Whenever I'm in the mood for soup, this happens to cross my mind immediately. It's so flavorful, with tons of veggies within the soup. Also, the addition of the spoonful of fried wonton strips makes it even that much more satisfying. I LITERALLY went there once and ordered myself 4 bowls. The only other items I've gone for is the:*BBQ Beef Quesadilla (so flavorful and delicious!)*Daikon Fries (wasn't a fan. I love a good French fry, but these just didn't HIT like I thought they would. Lack flavor)The place itself has a cool ambiance and vibe, that's for sure. Could the waiting area be a bit bigger so you don't feel like you're standing in the way of people entering, probably. But that just shows that people love this place.

Very very disappointed with wait for food and then subpar at best. My 10Yo son and I decided to give DKD a try on Bardstown road. It looked busy which is always good sign. We we eventually waited on. We both ordered their Miso Soup which was on their quick appetizer list; wasn't quick. It had a twist of lemon grass and curry to it . It first it was interesting taste but lukewarm warm. By 3 or 4 spoon it was something that just didn't taste that good. We also ordered 2 rolls. Their menu doesn't have pictures and paper description but as nothing like what we received. It was Ok but my 10 yo who loves "sushi" didn't finish it so I knew it wasn't just me. He order the bowl of Food of Vegetables with BBQ and added beef. The stone bowl was hot BUT the food smelled burned like if your cooking something and bottom of pot burns food but food on top may look ok but it still had smell of burnt food. He didn't eat it. Took home and next day I reheated and it definitely looked burnt and still smelled burnt. WE BOTH agreed not on our return list and definitely not worth the cost. Look at photos and you be the judge.

We had really terrible service, and the rolls weren't that great. Very so-so fish quality. The vibes were cool, but not cool enough to make up for the bad service and meh food.

The staff were super helpful, and so were the other customers! We couldn't decide what to order and someone at the next table helped us out. The sushi was really good, but the star of the meal was the Japanese seafood curry. It was so delicious, I couldn't help but scarf the whole thing down. Unfortunately the Al pastor bibimbap wasn't as flavorful, and our appetizers were only okay. However, the drinks and the vibe were on point, so I think if you know what you like you'll be very pleased overall. Nothing was bad, but the curry pulled all the focus for me. Would happily come again, it ruled.

My family and best friend ended our shop local Saturday at DKD and this was my first visit. The restaurant has several seating options and all of them have a unique vibe. The front is near the windows with natural light and greenery. The hallway booths offer privacy but no ambiance. The back side is darker walls and has the feeling of an upper scale bar and the patio is a hidden area of wood and greenery.I had the wrong impression of what to expect from the menu. It doesn't have a typical menu of fried rice and noodle dishes. I ordered a few things to split with my teen - the chicken katana quesadilla with pesto and cheese was our favorite. The picture doesn't do it any justice. The chicken teriyaki tacos were also delicious and a great portion. I got the habanero sauce on the side but really enjoyed it. We also ordered the nachos with pulled pork and pickled onions. This items was the most average item and I wasn't overly fond of the Smokey pork flavor so I'll skip recommending these. Other dishes that were winners included sushi - lots of sushi! And the salad with chicken and ginger dressing. Service was so great. We were checked on several times and helped with the menu. I'd completely come back for the quesadillas and tacos.

While on vacay, we picked up takeout from this nice restaurant in Louisville, KY.The makisushi rolls are delish and the wings were okay. My boyfriend liked them, but they didn't have flavor for me.I would like to try more of their American sushi roll.

Went on a Friday during Happy Hour. Mostly street parking. Great Happy hour options all around. Enjoyed the indulgent sushi roll. For dinner had the steamed pork buns and al pastor bibimbap bowl (over rice). All very good. Friendly staff.

During my last visit to Dragon King's Daughter I ordered the stuffed Wontons, the Pork Steamed Buns and two sushi rolls. The Bao Buns were amazingly delicious! The stuffed Wontons were extremely scrumptious as well. Unfortunately the sushi (which should have been the star) fell flat. The "Sushi & The Banshees" roll was okay. Sadly the "My Neighbor Toto Toro" roll was rather lackluster. I had my friends give it a try as well and none of us were impressed. Overall I would say that the appetizers were so much better than the sushi itself which was a bit disappointing. The service was great, the drinks were as well and the atmosphere was welcoming, modern and warm.

The new location is just down the road from the old one and is much larger with lots of seating! The best way to enjoy sushi? Go with friends and get one of each from the menu. Ha! That's basically what we did and it did not disappoint. Favs:- black widow- dipity - Hoosier momma - sushi and the banshees
