I've lived In the south end for 3 years and finally decided to give donut express a go & I am glad I did. I didn't get to the spot until about 8:45 and was expecting to have a very small selection but they had a ton of donuts and kept bringing more and more out. I ordered a dozen to get some variety. So far I've had a maple long John and a cinnamon sugar twist and they both were so delicious. Very cheap and such a small hole in the wall but produces some Incredible food. Reminds me of nords/sugar and spice.

This local donut bakery has had challenges. It looks like they are open again. Prices seem a bit high to me and the price per dozen does not include the specialty donuts. There was not a wait when I visited but it was early when I stopped in. The donuts do taste really good though. For a dozen it was $13.00. They also have single serving drinks too.

My boyfriend and I took the kids to get donuts on Saturday morning. The donut shop is in a run down shopping center but after reviewing yelp we really wanted to give it a try. The inside is small with minimal seating. We were greeted right away. We each picked out what we wanted. 7 donuts and 3 drinks and the total was around $12. I thought the pricing was very fair. The donuts were delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

One time my stepdad had told me that this place had awesome donuts. We went there one time and had ok-ish donuts. He said that we should come here another time when the donuts were fresher. I went back by myself a few years later to see if it was just a matter of coming at the right time, and my opinion that this place has ok-ish donuts still stands. I got myself a custard filled, a blueberry cake, an old fashioned, and a maple glazed. The blueberry cake and old fashioned were dense and didn't taste 100% right. The yeast donuts were more on the ballpark of being donuts, and I liked the maple glazed and the custard filled. This is another place that I suggested the yeast as opposed to the cake donuts. Otherwise, it's average.

This 5 star rating is based solely on the donuts. They are fantastic-maybe the best that I've ever had. There is a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and nuts that is out of this world!Donut Express is a complete hole in the wall in the south end of Louisville. No frills at all. There are a few tables to eat in and they offer a large selection of drinks. Carry out is my recommendation. You will be Queen/King of the office if you show up with Donut Express! There is almost always a line in the morning and they sell out. The line moves fast- think Soup Nazi style from Seinfeld. Donut pass on Donut Express!

I stopped here because I saw a sign that said "Donut" and decided that would be an acceptable breakfast snack for myself and the kid that I was transporting to school. We were pretty excited about it and each ordered 2 donuts...and bottles of water.Meh, is a good summation of the experience we both felt upon sinking our first bite into our donuts. They looked great, tasted slightly like krispy kreme (melted almost immediately in my mouth), but were OVERLY greasy. Now I know you are thinking...they are donuts, Sarah, they are supposed to be greasy. I sorta disagree. If you've had amazing donuts you know that greasy is not always the best takeaway for describing your donut. I was happy to know this place exists way out in the Valley Station end of town and the woman behind the counter seemed appreciative of our business. If I find myself in need of a donut and am traveling to that end of town, I might simply try a different one to see if others are more fitting to my taste preference.

Some of my coworkers get doughnuts from here and they are fantastic. It's not fancy, but the doughnuts are worth it. I've tried several and I've yet to find one I don't like!

Amazing donuts. The right blend of sweetness to softness.I've been to other donut shops where the dough has been hard or places like Krispy Kreme that make you want to puke with how fake sweet the donuts are, but this place has the right mix.It won't have any novelty donuts and is more like a hole in the wall. Alot of donuts are sold out by 10 or 11 so come early!
