A blast from the past, old beat up restaurant. There is zero ambiance whatsoever, but I drive here from Jeffersonville to get my fried fish fix. I saw a few people dining in and more getting take-out. My friend and I ate inside which is depressing, in my opinion. The fish is good, fries average, onion rings better than average and okay Cole slaw. The service is fine. I dont like fish and chips to go because the quality of the meal degrades quickly. I want to eat it NOW before thingsbegin to get soggy and cold. My friend liked his food as well as I did. It's not the Best we ever had, but worth driving from Jeffersonville. I wouldn't bring a date here to dine. It's just not a place for that, but to get a quick fried fish sandwich is good. I may be back to try some fried cauliflower or other sides with another fish sandwich if I don't find some place closer to home.

The dock is some of my favorite fried fish. If you come here don't expect anything fancy. It's the same small business that hasn't changed in 30 years. The interior is simple. You order at a counter. Over that time though their food has always been consistently good and is a must stop over every time I am in the area. Everything is fried, it's what they do, so no healthy options here. What you will get is piping hot perfectly breaded fish and chips. Portions are large. My favorite is usually a fish sandwich on rye bread. My family always fights over the hush puppies so maybe get an extra order while there.

I needed to update. What I call "the Dock" is good at what it does, which is fry some darn good fish. They are consistent here. Always. They've been around forever and have a loyal customer base, which is apparent by the interactions between the customers and staff. It's a locally owned place that serves us locals, even transplants like me, well. I always get a fried fish sandwich. I know it's good, and there's no reason to branch out. It's always made to order and fried fresh. It never takes long either, unless it's Lent and jam-packed. On my last visit, I walked in, ordered immediately, and had my hot and freshly-fried small fish and fries in less than five minutes. The older African American lady at the counter is always friendly and efficient; an asset to the Dock for sure. My food was good and exactly what I wanted. The hush puppies don't excite me here, as they are spongy and somewhat bland. I just add tartar and move on. The small fish was two perfectly-fried fillets, and an ample portion. The fries are crinkles and were also hot and fresh out of the fryer. They have Coke products here, which earns them at least half of a star rounded-up from me. It's old school and dated: just part of the experience. Everything on Yelp doesn't have to be all be shiny, new, and Instagram-worthy; the hipster pic market featuring Edison lights, cutting board plates, and sandwiches stabbed with knives is already oversaturated anyway. They do need a spell check on their menu board though, as tartar has never been, and should never be, spelled with an "e". Spelling matters. I do wish they would add fried green tomatoes to their menu like the other locations. Just a friendly suggestion. Also, the mask police are not on duty here, which was so nice and appreciated. Anyhow, it's a great place to get some good and simple fried fish. It knocks Moby Dick out of the park.

Everything taste the same! Wish you could keep certain items not cook in the same grease as fish/shrimp; such as cheesticks, and mushrooms!

My wife and I go out of our way whenever we are out of town to track down some good fish house. Have been to many places,Mike Linnigs, Kingfish etc...Florida, many coastal cities, By far , Docks is the best we've had and we have been to many places that serve fish. If you're hungry, don't need a fine dining, you just like fish,Docks

Went to Dock Sea Food last week and service and food was good as always. I live in Louisville, Ky and most of the time when I'm in New Albany, Indiana, I try to stop there to get me some fish.
