Went to Derby City Gaming for drinks. The Trophy - Fascinator Bar/Lounge was amazing. Nice view of exclusive bourbon bottles in the cabinet. It was just a vibe.

We went in here on a Saturday evening about 9 o'clock. It was just OK nothing I would say is worth driving down there for. It's slot machines and not a huge area to run around and explore a lot of things. A busy crowded part of downtown Louisville so parking is a little tough. But it was worth trying out, but it ain't nothing. I need to go back to.

Disclaimer: This review is not based on whether or not I won or lost money while at the casino. This is strictly based on my experience and how I was treated by the staff, the environment of the casino itself as well as my overall enjoyment regardless if I won or lost. Gambling is something that I enjoy from time to time and I'm always looking for a casino that not just offers a variety of games to play but also excellent staff, a laid back vibe and also providing great entertainment. I am pleased to say that on my first trip at Downtown Louisville's new casino, Derby City Downtown, did a dang fine job of hitting every single one of these marks. Going into the casino I was aware the games available would only be slots, at least that's what I could tell from my time there. Derby City Downtown has the parking situation covered by way of a parking garage that does cost money to use but if you find yourself on a busy Friday night such as this, it absolutely does help knowing you won't have to worry about finding a place to park. Upon entering the casino passing through security was extremely easy and I was greeted by some very friendly members of the staff, I found myself enjoying a very nice selection of various slot machine starting as low as a penny, I wasn't able to find a High Limit area but I may have missed it on this trip. The layout of the casino itself is extremely easy to maneuver and I had not a single difficult time walking through the casino floor. The cashier/member services area is very conveniently place right across from the entrance so for those that are new you'll easily be able to sign up for a membership. On this particular Friday evening there was a very lively band playing on the stage which happens to be seated behind the main bar area in the back middle of the first floor of the casino which made the experience all the more fun as you could easily hear the band playing no matter where you were on the first floor. I had no issues grabbing a drink from the wait staff but I will say one caveat is that unlike the Polar Level Road location this one does not have a self-service soda fountain which I discovered is due to not wanting the homeless to linger in the casino. I decided to check out the lower level by way of an escalator and there were more games on this floor to play. I checked out the Trophy Bar along with the Fascinator Wine Bar. I was greeted by Adrian Montgomery who provided me with a tour of this area including showing me the cigar/smoking lounge was is extremely well ventilated along with various other rooms for those to relax and lounge in including the VIP room. You'll find there is no lack of seating in this casino whatsoever. All-in-all I highly recommend coming to Derby City Downtown for an excellent casino experience that won't feel like a hassle. You'll be treated with the incredible and knowledgeable staff as well as making for a great place to have fun with your friends or family. Definitely stop by if you're in the area as I know you'll have an amazing time.

Went on a late Saturday night. Not too crowded. Security at the door. Upstairs sports bar was short on staff but went downstairs to the bar and had excellent service.

We were in town for the weekend staying a block away at the Galt hotel. This place is nice! We were there exactly a year after it opened. Everything still looks new and of course all of the machines are new and the latest and greatest. It's on the smaller side and doesn't include table games which will turn off a good portion of gamblers. It's smoke free which is a huge plus if you have been to the other casino across the river in Indiana. Slots were good and were fun. This review isn't based on what we won or loss. If you're looking for video poker, which is what we like, you will only find machines at the bar. These are all single line basic video poker machines in either .25 cent or $1 denominations. This was a bit disappointing. We ate and drank at the bar which was nice. Service and staff were awesome. Check it out if you are downtown. Fantastic location in the middle of everything.

We were very excited to have the new DCG location to open downtown! We went in the afternoon over the weekend. We parked in a parking garage across the street. Inside DCG was super clean. There are some new games that are not at the other DCG location. There are two levels. Upstairs has games and a bar with a stage behind it and several TVs surrounding the seating area at the bar. Downstairs has some more games as well as the restaurant and wine bar. We grabbed a drink at the bar upstairs. Our bartender Mike was incredible! Knowledgeable, kind, & tentative. Next time we go back we want to go back to try the restaurant and wine bar.

This hotel is a beautiful property with great customer service. The rooms are large, we had king size bed and the room also had a side chair and a bench for sitting. The coffee maker has pods but the coffee in the gaming center is even better. We ate at Oliver's Chophouse. The basil pasta is so good, fresh parmesan cheese and basil. We used Uber to get to Churchill Downs, about a 10-15 minute ride. I took a 2mile walk outside for exercise since there isn't a fitness center. Look forward to future stays.

I had alot of fun! NOW, I dont know how to gamble whatsoever, so me and my sister sat there and struggled with our little game cards aand the machines for quite a bit. But the atmosphere was amazing. It was bright and warm, the music was fun, there was a huge area for food and drinks, and it wasnt too crowded- we really got to get in there and move around. Ill be back when I actually learn how to play!

Not too busy, variety of slot machines (no tables) but they did have sports betting. We sat at the sports bar and ate. The bartender was training so was a little slow but we understood. I got crispy chicken sandwich and liked it my husband got the smash burger and said it was nothing to get excited over but was eatable. I would recommend checking out if in the area they have too and lower level and a smoking/patio area as well. There is another restaurant/bar/wine place on lower level looked nice but we did not go there to be able to review it.
