Dad's Favorites

Hard to find, but once you do, you will not forget where it is!!!I was welcomed by Dad himself while waiting in the hallway. Explained the menu and options. I decide to go with the Rueben I had heard so much about it. It did not disappoint!!!Definitely will be going back.

It's been a little while since I've been here. Place just doesn't disappoint on each visit.At 11:30 am place was packed.The Asiago Pot roast was best roast I've ever had, The Asiago cheese to it to another level.You will not be disappointed on lunch here.

My gosh. This is so good! Loved meeting the Cartoon Dad right off the bat. Said Hi to his sons and got the lowdown on their specials. Grabbed the Rachel for me and the Rushmore for the boss. Wish I'd have taken a picture, but I was too hungry to wait. And it was absolutely fantastic. I'll be visiting these guys on the regular!!Thanks James, Jeff and Jay! Glad to meet ya!DJ

Finally made my way to Dad's after hearing so many good things. I was a bit lost trying to find it--tip is drive behind Big Lots!--until I saw some cars. Signage is a bit sparse. However when I walked in, I could tell they have a cult following. I asked the woman in front of me for her favs and just copied her order. The Monday special farmhouse sandwich on white is a fantastic lunch. Loved that everything tasted fresh and the sandwiches were cut in half and put in foil. Even after an hour, they were still tasty. Service was quick and easy, and they hand-delivered to make sure the order was right. Great Lexington staple with the quintessential deli vibe!

We followed the five star reviews to this hole-in-the-wall for lunch while visiting Lexington. Love to try where the locals go when we travel. We arrived a few minutes before their 11am opening time on a Tuesday and waited in the small line. When they did open it felt like they were off to a bit of a slow start. For instance, they were replacing things under the drink machine that kept folks from getting drinks for a bit.It was Taco Tuesday but we wanted to try their infamous sandwiches. Husband got their Roast Beef with au jus and I tried the smoked pimento cheese BLT. Order, pay, get your drink (diet coke for Husband, unsweetened iced tea for me) and go find a place to land. At first we thought our only choice was a table either outside (which was a no go for us in the Lexington heat), or a table in the hallway by the laundry services, where it was warm and didn't smell exactly appetizing. Then we realized there was a whole dining room. Yeah! Much more appealing place to eat.They have a runner who calls out your name and brings your food. We told them we were eating there, but they packed ours to go, which was fine but seemed like a waste of a lot of packaging.Husband's roast beef was lean and delicious. Au jus nice and warm with great flavor. My smoked pimento cheese BLT was good, but I didn't taste anything smoky. Added some of Dad's terrific hot sauce and it added a nice little kick.

Still on the search for the best Reuben in Lexington. A continuous line at 11:00 AM. No question, Dad's sandwiches are good. The Reuben is the Thursday special. Taste-wise, it was good. Everything made from scratch. The meat was tender, but just not enough of it. Remembering the real thing, a NY institution, out of reach. 73

Good sandwiches. I havent had anything there that i did not like. My favorite is the roast beef. They have soup. Sometimes they run out, but that's all good.Check out their daily specials.

I love supporting local businesses, however the $9.00 club sandwich I got today was overpriced. Tasty, but not worth the price. This restaurant has a lot of local patron support as it should. I just can't get past the pricing, sorry.

The food here is absolutely amazing!! They have their own daily specials and they're all magnificent. Not only that but service is quick for how busy they are and a meal will definitely fill you up. A little pricey but hey it's worth it. The owner is even there and he is a super nice guy! Thanks dad!
