Wow! What a treasure. So glad we chose this beautiful bed and breakfast for our stop in Louisville. Jason our host was fantastic. He loves his home and it shows. It's full of amazing antiques and history galore. We will be back!

What glorious and charming home! I am so happy I was able to spend a night here in the Annie Fellows room. I felt like a true Southern Belle and enjoyed lounging in the drawing room and exploring the home. The Annie Fellows room had a beautiful bathroom, perfect for a hot bath to de-stress and contemplate life. It's true, something about this room just makes your mind sparkle, as I found it easier to write for my blog! The breakfast was lovely and I became an instant fan of the coffee! I could only imagine how the Culbertson family lived like! The table was beautifully set and all my friends back in California were Californi-JEALOUS! Rudy, the inn keeper and Jason were lovely and answered all questions I had. I cannot wait to return and bring my friends & family!

I LOVE a good haunted house. Beware: This place is a joke. They took my money ($15) and told me it would be an hour and a half wait. We were a bridal party that was excited to experience the haunted house and thrilling suspense. We were blessed that the family behind us was willing to buy our tickets after waiting in line 30 minutes. After deciding to leave, one of the hired help zombie people called me a dumb bitch after trying to scare my friends and I. We didn't scare because we were upset.. I'm so disenchanted by the way it way our experience has been handled and by what we learned coming to this place. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

This is the second time we've stayed here while working our way through the bourbon trail. Rudy and Jason are great hosts, and the house is beautiful! We plan on making trips back soon to stay again. Thank you for the great weekends!

There are a few times in life when the stars align and you share a few special moments with friends or family that could only have come about with a bit of luck, a charmed scene, and the good graces of strangers. I was fortunate to book the Culbertson at the last minute for a birthday Bourbon Trail trip with my folks, who were charmed both by the exquisite Victorian intricacies of the mansion and the inspired of Rudy, the innkeeper. What can I say? Despite all the antiques and glass, my two daughters (ages 1 and 4) were made to feel welcome. The breakfast spread was as artful as it was abundant. The quarters, while likely outstripped by other more contemporary efforts, were nevertheless appointed with charming furnishings that all seemed to have the personal history behind them. However, for those who are friends of Rudy, a subterranean lounge awaits. If he likes you, Rudy will invite you to imbibe, trade stories, shoot some pool, play the jukebox...maybe even soak in the hot tub. My dad, whose birthday we were celebrating, was treated by Rudy to bourbon none of us could afford and stories that only a man of the world such as Rudy can tell. Rudy's scene is more speakeasy than most other hipster scenes that would attempt such a boast. So be nice to Rudy. My only regret is that it has taken me over half a year to write this review. But I never forgot. The Culbertson Mansion was that memorable. If you are an individual of culture and good breeding, book now.

I've been coming here for years for different things like a field trip with school, story telling I various room in the house, to the haunted house out back. All things are well thought out and this place gives you the old world feel that is so fleeting in the world today. The haunted house has a story line and the actual house is rumored to be haunted .Note. The actors can touch you which adds to scary atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place for anything you are planning!

We booked a room in January for this September (today). Three weeks ago we reached out to confirm our reservation. We sent several emails and left several voicemail messages but received no response. Then, the day before we are set to leave and stay there we get a cancellation email stating a "medical emergency." We didn't see the email until the morning of our departure. There was no other communication at all. I understand having a medical emergency but that doesn't excuse not returning any of our emails or phone calls or DM's over the last three weeks. So no, I don't recommend booking with them.

You won't find more accommodating and knowledgeable owners than Jason and Beverly. You will be treated to a history of the house and breakfast in a setting you won't soon forget. The owners are also very helpful about things to do in town and always have a recommendation for a nice place to eat.
