My wife and I spent a couple of nights in the Chapeze Suite at the Kentucky Bourbon House. When we first arrived, we were charmed by the historic feel of the place and also pleased with the amenities. Nice bathroom and furnishings. The owners added hospitality by having a full coffee service, snacks, and some cereal for a light breakfast. The house is also right on the central circle in Bardstown, so walking to restaurants was very convenient. However, this house is right on the main thoroughfare in Bardstown, and less than 50 ft from the road. The constant traffic noise made it very difficult to sleep, as the bed is located right next to the window facing the street. On Saturday, the noise was constant until after 2:30 am and on Sunday the noise did not abate until after 12:30 am. Each morning the noise started again about 6 am. This was a constant barrage of loud mufflers, pickups and diesel trucks. There is also a traffic light out on the street so we heard these noisy vehicles accelerating from the light. If you have an issue with noise at night I recommend that you investigate other properties. This room, with taxes and fees, was over $200 per night and I don't feel we got that type of value

My husband and i stopped in for one night, what a great place to stay. Such a quaint town, and the cottage we stayed in was absolutely fantastic. The innkeeper was such a sweet lady, she went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. Sheets and towels were fresh and smelled bleachy clean, just like at a nice hotel. The bathroom was very spacious, double sinks and a beautifully tiled shower, all very clean. There were nice light fixtures throughout most of the home. The bed was very comfortable, lots of nice pillows. We didn't even turn on the 2 Tv's. Some of the sitting room furniture could use an update. The full kitchen would be great for a group looking to cook there. The farmers sink was old and stained, but that was the only kind of icky thing there, but we could tell they scrubbed and cleaned it daily. There are beautiful bistro patio lights strung up on the side porch if you wanted to spend a little time outside, and it's right downtown! Walking distance to most Bardstown things. It's an old house and you can tell it has a very rich history. I can't vouch for any of the other locations from this proprietor, but THIS one was awesome. I will recommend it to everyone.

We were very pleased with our stay - a tiny "house" with lots of space, a great spa bath, and a sitting area outside. We like it so much we canceled a hotel on our return and stayed here again. Continental breakfast was delicious and plentiful. House was a bit stuffy when we checked in, but it had been pouring rain and HOT HOT HOT for days, so can't really hold it against them. The spa bath felt great after a full day in the car!

I do not understand the prior reviewer, as it is completely out of character with our experiences. We stayed in the John Fitch Cottage, a one-bedroom cottage that has been modified from its 19th century days. It was a perfect base for doing the local Bourbon Trail.Everything was just lovely, and worked just as expected. The cabin was perfectly neat and clean. The large hot tub in the back room was a wonderful feature, and was maintained and had added touches like votive candles. Perfect for a getaway weekend. The neighborhood was quiet, and we heard very little in the way of traffic noise. The owners were perfectly attentive and solicitous of our needs.

Wow . . . all I can say - what a find. Stayed at the Pioneer Park Cottage and was blown away. The location was superb and the owner was fantastic! Clean, spacious, full kitchen too! Last year we stayed at a local chain hotel, well, no more! We will be back! Thank you Margret.

We spent four nights in the Bourbon Cottage. Great location, great cottage. We were walking distance to restaurants and night life. The hosts provided a great list of things to do. The cottage was central to many distilleries and other places to visit. I highly recommend a stay at the cottage! (walk across the street and get a YumYum)

My wife and I stayed here on August 24th for a special weekend. I read the reviews and there was one concerning review about the cleanliness of the cottages. We decided to take our chances because other reviews were great. We got there about 3pm to check in. A welcome note and keys were waiting for us. Not only was the cottage was spotless it had so much character. It was just what we were looking for and walkable to downtown. We would absolutely recommend the Colonels Cottage Inn's and look forward to our next visit to Bardstown Kentucky.

These homes are beyond dirty, gross and full of bugs. They have a cleaning lady that smokes when she cleans. The plumbing barely works. The owners are extremely defensive when you ask them about the condition of the homes. I would never want to stay in such dumps again. We also had a roach crawl in our bed the 2nd night we were there. GROSS!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Colonel's Cottages twice. I got engaged the first night we stayed there and then came back to get married at the Chapeze House (owned by the same people) and stayed the night at the Cottage after our wedding. The Cottage was so charming, very clean, and was exactly what we were look for. My husband and I travel all the time and get tired of staying in hotels. The Colonel's Cottage Inn provided us with such a great and memorable experience. We look forward to the next opportunity we have to stay there again! I highly recommend the Colonel's Cottage Inn!
