As a lifelong fan of Choi's,I am always blown away by how it's the best kept secret in Louisville! So many people know about Choi's, while others don't. And. This. Needs. To. Change!I've been visiting here since childhood. Growing up in Lyndon, we walked her twice a week to grab our groceries. You can not beat the fresh housemade banchan! While easy to make at home, it is great to grab to go! Not to mention, the spam musbi and kimbaps at the register. GET YOUR PRODUCE here. Get your specialty needs. And most importantly, don't forget to say thank you!

Choi's has an expansive selection of groceries from across Asia. Whenever I challenge myself to create an Asian recipe at home, they are my first stop. As a family-owned grocery, the owners and staff are readily available if you have questions (my latest: where is the mirin?) and are happy to help you find exactly the right ingredient. The fresh produce area is small but nicely varied, I can usually find a deeper selection of vegetables often found in Asian dishes (like baby bok choy) that I can't find at my big box grocer. More impressive still is their freezer and dry goods section (think: every type of noodle you can think of, and the some). Choi's has definitely upped my Asian cooking legitimacy! It should be mentioned: They also have an impressive selection of pre-packaged Ramen noodles, if that's your thing. This is my son's favorite part of the market.

I am really afraid to give a 5 to a market. Because every time I do, the market seems ro go downhill. Waaahhh!! Choi's is well organized and clean. They always have at least most of what I need. They also have a hot roll that is either vegetable or meat based In case you go in there when you are hungry and need something right away. This is usually my M.O.!

Clean and well organized. Friendly employees. Good selection. They managed to fit a ton in the smaller store without it being over crowded.

From the parking lot, Choi's looks like a very small establishment. But once you walk through the front door, it's like Mary Poppins' carpetbag - almost limitless storage! They have everything from fresh produce to prepared items and baked good. On this trip, I was in search of several types of vegan ramen and some silken tofu (their price on it can't be beat). I also picked up a small container of cucumber salad made in-house and my favorite hoisin sauce. If you're in Lyndon or Hurstbourne/Shelbyville Rd area and love cooking (or want to try your hand at it), I'd highly recommend Choi's.

I visited for the first time last week and was very pleased with everything in the store! I can get everything I need to make pho, pad thai, kapoon, eggrolls, etc! All my favorite instant noodles were there as well as a pretty good assortment of fresh veggies. Lots of frozen items as well. I will be coming here for all my Asian grocery shopping needs.
