Not a good experience at all. My general chicken was the worst I have ever had. Old, stale, and bad tasting, I threw 80 percent of it away and lucky it didn't make me sick.I will never darken their door again!

Everyone knows the drill with no-frills Chinese take-out places like this (which, since the pandemic, increasingly seem to be take-out only). After having tried most such in the Louisville area, I'll say that China 1 is hands-down my favorite (with Oriental Cafe a close second, though OC is the better option if you want to sit and eat). Good food, quick service, reasonable prices, and generous portions (a $12 stir-fry is actually more than I can eat in two meals!).I no longer live in Lou, and this is one of the places I miss, not yet having found a comparable option in Miami.

Ordered China 1 for lunch today after recommendation from a friend. We ordered roast pork fried rice with chicken wings, lo mein noodles lunch, egg roll and crab Rangoon. I was able to place the order online without a service fee, which I appreciate. It gave me a 35 minute window for pickup. China 1 called my cell to confirm the order and also to let me know the order was ready. There is a sign on the door to limit 2 people in the lobby. They also have contactless pickup. They have plexiglass over the front area and then a box with doors on each side for your payment and food. After I signed the receipt I put in a bin in the front of the glass. I was very impressed with the process and safety. The pork fried rice and chicken wings were good. The wings were delicious and exactly what I expected for asian wings. They had a good crust and were fried to perfection. The fried rice was good but not the best I've had. But due to the wings I would order the combo again. The lo mein was very good and the kids asked for more! The crab Rangoon was perfect, lots of cream cheese. They also included a sweet and sour sauce for dipping with the order. All in all it was very good and we would order again.

I placed a Door Dash order and my driver brought Popeyes instead. There was a language barrier as English was not his first language. He could not understand that he'd brought the wrong food and only kept saying my name. I ended up getting a credit for my order which I used to place another order the following week. Why I gave it a second chance I can't say. I got the right food, but I think it was the same food that wasn't picked up the week before! General Tso's Chicken that tasted burnt. So dry I thought I'd break a tooth and two sad egg rolls that resembled petrified tree trunks. Never again.

Food is great! I've ordered a more expensive item and the person at the front counter changed it for the special. I didn't dined in but the ambiance felt like a take out restaurant with the option to eat there. If I would've hungry and/or just passing by, I could've eaten there without any issues.
