Chicken Place

Chicken place has more than chicken,we tried the chicken that has been continually planted up since mid 40's in Ireland (we had green glasses and green . placemats). Also had a ham sandwich which was extremely over priced with no side. 14! An interesting side was a broccoli pasta salad with onions and graped and no broccoli. Fries are limp and greasy. Kitchen is slow, it was busy on Saturday dinner,but an hour and a half is long. Food was hot. Worth a visit.

Ice cold beer (great selections, by the way, Harp, Guinness and the macros) and deep fryer hot chicken. Great service and ambiance. Seats 54 people; oh, good bourbon selections too. German fries for the win. Non smoking; takes credit cards.

The best fried chicken anywhere, hands down!The chicken is not only very crispy, but is moist all the way through, which is impressive. The wait staff is no nonsense but pleasant (love it). The ambiance is cozy and inviting. I'd recommend the sides of German Fires and Sweet & Sour Cole slaw. We've compared many others to Chicken Place and none come close.

This place is exactly as you'd imagine. The menu has a variety of chicken dishes with sides, appetites, and salads. There was a limited selection of beers and had liquors at the bar. The food was delicious! The food is also made to order so it's hot and fresh but takes a moment to come out. But again, it was hot and fresh! The service was great! I went with a big group of 10 people but the staff kept checking on our drinks and brought us anything we need. This place has three different doors you can enter through in front, out back, or on the side. A cute local favorite worth checking out!

ChickenSo, coworker tells me that there is this chicken place over in Ireland, IN that is imaginatively named "the chicken place" and they have the best fried chicken. I haven't had good fried chicken in an eon so we headed over.Mid-week the place was not too crowded and we had our choice between table seating or the bar. We chose the table and the extremely friendly waitress got us going with drinks. There are a lot of beers available by the schooner - which is just this big-ass goblet. Mixed drinks were on a much smaller scale.The menu is pretty basic: you pick what chicken you like- you can save time and just get a 1/2, 1/4 and whole bird, or order the particular pieces you like a la carte.Pick two sides and off you go to fried chicken heaven.Food takes a little time to prepare which tells me that they make it to order - perfect.Result: some damn fine crunchy fried chicken that had a great texture and was not too greasy. Overall a fine meal. Green bean side were fine enough and a side salad rounded out the meal.Apparently the place has been around forever and that is reflected in the yummy chicken.I would hit it again if in the area. Parking out front.

I watched the CHICKEN PLACE when I was in high school! My cousin and I both did. You never tire of the smell of good chicken! They just have fantastic fried chicken and you must try it if you're ever in Ireland, Indiana.

First of all any place that has been around since 1948 is obviously doing something right. Being a chicken fan I've been trying to come to this place for years, but it was never the right timing as they open at 4 o'clock and I'm usually here earlier in the day. But tonight a very wonderful customer of ours made it possible for us all to meet for dinner, and so we did. We all ordered the chicken except for one of us ordered the chicken livers as he is a regular and likes delivers there. I ordered half a chicken the dark meat as I'm a dark meat fan and the German potato salad. The chicken was memorable and I will definitely try to make it back here the gym and potato salad was heaven, and by the way I also ordered the coleslaw which was so unique and wonderful I am asking for the recipe the next time I'm there.I wish I asked her server's name she was wonderful and couldn't have been more accommodating by the way make sure you ask for the bread if not extra because it's so darn good.

Fried chicken is on point, tender and juicy inside while incredibly crispy outside. The service is also the top notch, our waitress Amanda was so attentive and considerate, a very happy experience. Highly recommended!

Looking for a place after playing a round at Sultan's Run?! This is it! The chicken is literally dripping with juices and the baked potato was cooked to perfection. Service was quick and friendly. Don't miss out on the sweet tea! The chicken strips are also huge and the German Potatoes are to die for! This place is a much visit. Tell Chris the cook/owner that DA & his buddy Cliff sent you, he will make sure you're dinner is perfect!

The fried chicken was swimming in the oil on the bottom of our plates. My husband's French fries were limp like a noodle would be. Soggy with oil. The German fries were delicious. Had heard so many recommendations for this restaurant. So dissatisfied. Will not return.
