For a nice chill vibe back in time, head on down to Rabbit Hash Kentucky.AND when you're down there and looking for something to eat, check out Chef Hip Es Cocina Loca. The food is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC ! Chef RJ will ensure you have the best mexican food this side of the Ohio River. We had the pulled pork Quesadilla...PHENOMENAL. It came with sides of red and green dipping salsa and sour cream. The special of the day was the Cheese Soup, and yes it was VERY SPECIAL. Down there on a beautiful fall Wednesday. We were looking for just a beer (from the Rabbit Hash General Store) and relaxing on the Ohio River. It was late afternoon and our meal set our stomachs good for the entire evening. PLEASE check it out.

If you've never been to the tiny little town of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky ... consider this your sign to plan a little road trip ASAP! I'm honestly not even sure I can call it a "town," since it's really just a couple of businesses sitting in a beautiful location on the riverfront ... but either way, it's adorably nostalgic, and you need to visit. If you're coming from Downtown Cincinnati, expect about a 45 minute drive without traffic. We visited on a Friday during lunchtime - and if you can, we'd recommend coming on a weekday. Since this is a popular tourist destination, the locals told us they really fill up on weekends. If you're only available on the weekends, maybe just get here early ;)After grabbing one of Rabbit Hash's signature Lagers at the General Store, my fiancé and I stopped by Chef Hip E's for a meal we won't soon forget. Their menu is simple - but don't let that fool you. You order and pick up your food at the same counter, and then eat on picnic tables near the river. It's totally a thing to bring over a beer from the General Store and then order some food - so don't feel weird about it. I ordered two tacos - one chicken, and one "drunken pork." My fiancé ordered the "Gnarly Marley" sandwich. I honestly can't tell you which meal I liked more ... both were equally amazing. The tacos were packed with flavor, so much so that they were literally dripping. At the recommendation of one of the employees, we drank the "sauce" after finishing the tacos ... and oh my word, they should bottle this stuff! The sandwich was just as spectacular ... deliciously smoked meat topped with candied bacon, pickles, fresh jalapenos, and a mango habanero sauce that brought the whole thing together. Needless to say, we devoured our food, and will be returning soon to experience even more of Chef Hip E's delicious menu.

Where do I begin. The menu isn't overwhelming which is great because on paper, EVERYTHING sounds good. They should sell they're candied bacon tbh. You get a lot of food and you're never left hungry with anything. Anything with drunken pork is the best especially the tacos. You know the food where you can't stop eating because it tastes so good? This is that.

Chef Hip E's Cocina is a small Mexican eatery food stand type setup in the quaint but historic rabbit hash, Kentucky. My family and some family friends stopped in the small town or rabbit hash while coming back to Lousiville from the Newport aquarium and discovered this cool little town. We had been familiar with a popular rabbit hash general store that has a small bit of fame so when we realized it wasn't far off our route we made the quick trip over. While visiting the gentle store we could smell the good food cooking across the street and walked over to check it out. The workers and owners here we chatted up with a quite a bit. Like all the locals we came across in Thai small town of 300 with canines for mayors they were super nice and Accommodating. The setup here is out the back of a building in almost a concession stand type setup. They have a decent sized menu and you place your order and can either eat at the lively outside picnic tables just a few feet off the Ohio river or take it home with you. I personally ordered a chicken quesadilla and one of my daughters spurned for the cheese quesadilla. Smaller sized pieces but they give you a good amount of squares so it is pretty filling. The chicken had a good flavor overall. The salsa it came with I wasn't a huge fan of. But overall it was a nice meal. My wife started off with some candied bacon which she was a big fan off. Said it was good. I tried a bite and she was correct. Nice distinct flavor to it. For her entree she got a Gnarly Marley which is a pulled pork with jalapeños, candid bacon, bbq and crispy onion straws on top. She said I was really good and was a big fan. Very unique and good she said. My oldest daughter got a Chicken taco. It was on the smaller side but she said it was "really good". Overall this was a cool place with good food and options and super nice people. Fits in perfect with the small town rabbit hash Kentucky vibe as you almost feel like you are at someone's back yard cookout who knows how to make some Mexican food.

Oh man this place!!! Yum!So I was in the General Store at Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, and I say to the lady behind the cash register,"is there someplace around here I can get a little food?"She points out the door and across the street to a old shack looking structure with kind of a tent awning attached, and says "you see that blue tarp? They have great food!"I'll try about anything once where food is concerned, so I set out for the blue tarp... I say to the folks there "hey I hear you have good food over here." AND FOLKS, THE REST IS HISTORY!!!I've posted some pics of the menu which are self explanatory, and a photo of the sandwich I ordered & gobbled up as well. Wow was it good! The folks who run this place told me they used to live in Colorado. And they definitely seemed to have the good Colorado vibe that I'm familiar with.If you ever happen to find yourself hungry in Rabbit Hash, this is definitely a place to go!

Great food and fantastic service. Highly recommend this little hideaway. I ride my bike in this area and make sure this is one of my stops. What is better than eating great food in a rustic little village.

Last weekend I was at a fundraiser and was right next to Chef Hip E's for hours. This seems like a great idea but I was hungry and smelled their food all night long!!! I did a to go order of tacos and they were excellent. They were so good that a friend and I decided we must go to Rabbit Hash tonight.Four of us had dinner tonight and sat by the river. The food and the customer service here are excellent. When you order, be sure to add bacon to whatever you get. I really think that this bacon might change the minds of some vegetarians. Rabbit Hash might be a bit out of the way but the drive is beautiful and the food is even better. Support small businesses and stop by Chef Hip E's, you won't be disappointed.
