I'd love to be able to give this place a full review, but I can't. They had decent coffee and the help was pleasant enough, but it seems to have an issue with "follow through." At least, it did with us.After reading glowing reviews here on Yelp, I was anxious to try this place on the way to Jasper. They had plenty of wait staff on duty and took our order promptly and even brought us beverages in short order. The coffee was good; strong, very strong, but good and reasonable enough ($1.99 with endless refills). We walked in at about 10:20 and the place was moderately filled, but not crazy busy, and it smelled wonderful, full of breakfasty aromas; coffee, bacon, eggs, maple syrup. We were seated quickly and our waitress, though a little pokey (she went to the table of a guy who came in AFTER us before coming to us, something that doesn't sit well with me), promptly took our drink orders, then returned with said beverages and took our food order. I was dying to try "The Haystack" and my wife ordered the meal with eggs, sausage and a biscuit. Prices were fairly reasonable. Our waitress said she'd get our order in and we thanked her.5 minutes passed. 10 minutes passed. There were two gentlemen sitting across the room from us evidently waiting for good as was the guy who came in after us. 15 minutes passed. 20 minutes passed. My wife and I were wondering how long it could take to prepare breakfast food. 30 minutes passed. The guy who came in after us got HIS food. 10 more minutes passed. The other two gentlemen received their food. Another 10 minutes. We finally inquired and our waitress told us "yours is up next..."Ten more minutes passed. A big table of six got THEIR food. Our food NEVER materialized. We were in a tight schedule and finally had to wind up leaving without ever receiving our food. It's a shame, too, because the food I saw and smelled seemed like it would've been really good. Suffice to say, I doubt we'll be back.

Well run establishment that is extra friendly, spot on with their breakfast served up with a smile from the friendly staff. Management on site and interested in your feedback. Our feedback is keep doing what you do with breakfast. The Haystack is big enough to share, if they have homemade cinnamon rolls grab one and if stuffed get a few to go. Close at 1:30 and only open Wed.-Sat.Coffee cups are small, but never ran out. Yummy filling start to the day.Large parking lot and extra clean restaurant.

Just remembered to write a review. I went there four times. First two times were a miss because of central / eastern time differences. Third time I thought I was in the time frame of open because I had to go to Ferdinand for another reason an saw some cars parked there. Walked in. The greater looked shocked like I was going to rob the place or something. Seated me and gave me a menu. Asked what I would like to drink. I said black coffee. It didn't come, but a young lady came out and said she couldn't make me any hot food because they just turned off the cooking units, but I could have a donut or other cold item to go. I asked if they were closed, with four other tables still seated? - Yes we are. I left wanting a hot meal and not a donut. Returned some days later because I was off work for some reason. Actually got to sit like a normal person and order food. I don't remember what I ordered, but I know for a fact that I couldn't order eggs the way I wanted them because the food was precooked and served like casseroles or something. I have never been back. I don't know if their hours are still the same, but it seems like they were only open 3-4 hours for breakfast. Not the kind of food I want to go back for. I hope for them that they changed to a regular style of restaurant making food to order if I am to return.

What a fabulous restaurant just a couple miles off of interstate 64! We were so happy to find this beautiful cafe that checked all the boxes: New, Clean, Cute Decor, excellent service, and most of all: Fantastic From Scratch Food!!! My husband got his favorite breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast & extra crispy hash browns....and all was hot & spot on! I prefer lunch & the waitress said even before I asked that it was available also! I enjoyed a yummy chicken, salad, croissant with grapes and chips! The portions were large, but we couldn't help but eat it all!! in addition to that, we had ordered one cinnamon roll warmed for the table and one to go. By the time we had eaten a couple of bites of the first cinnamon roll...... We ordered a second one to go...haha!! Best ever!!! We can highly recommend this amazing café!

We were in need of food before playing golf. We had been having waffles at our motel. Decided we wantws more... found Cascade Cafe on the way to the golf course. We got there as they opened. Our server and all of the servers were great. They were friendly, eager for us to be there, welcomed us even though new. They welcomed us the same as they did the regulars who came after us. And, the food... the food was fabulous. The next time we go through town, we will stop, again.

Very friendly and generous service - the cinnamon roll made a great split appetizer, and the breakfast plates were solid.

We are from Louisville and while traveling along 64 we were looking for a place to grab some breakfast. Yelp helped us find the Cascade Cafe. What a jewel! The building is new, food is fantastic, owners/team members are delightful, and the ambience is welcoming. We ordered coffee, eggs, sausage, French toast, & a cinnamon roll -- all really good!! I didn't think to take pix of the food when it was served -- wish I had to show off its nice presentation. I would definitely recommend stopping here. It's not far from 64 so it won't disrupt your travels at all. Service was great! This is a family business which was super nice to support -- mom, dad, and two daughters. We were delighted that Rob, the dad, came to our table just to chat! (actually he worked the room and spoke to most of the patrons). One of the daughters is an excellent artist. She sells greeting cards with her paintings printed on them under the name Busy Lizzy. I bought a few of the monastery! If you're in Ferdinand it's definitely worth the stop! Their hours are 8-11:30 right now so be mindful of that.

We stopped by the Cascade Cafe on our way home after a Holiday World visit. It was so delightful! The owner, Rob, stopped by our table to chat and share a hint to visit Lincoln's boyhood home just 2 miles away. The wait staff was kind and attentive. The food is classically delicious diner fare, don't sleep on the biscuits! Overall this was the perfect local stop for a meal to round out a great trip.

A delicious breakfast and great service. We are breakfast eaters. We like family diners and homemade food. This place met all the requirements. From homemade biscuits to real butter, the food was simply the best breakfast we've had on this road trip. The service was wonderful and the owner/manager went to each table personally. We will definitely return if we are in the area!
