Carson's Food & Drink - At Andover

Yoooooooo. I'd heard the nachos were good here but the nachos were INSANE. I'm not a big nachos guy usually but these blew me away. It's always cool when you find a food that's the best version of that food and I think these nachos were that for nachos. These house made truffle potato chips piled high with rib meat, garlic sauce, onions, tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, green onions, crème fraíche, and topped with smoked Gouda cheese were the perfect combination of sweet and savory with the right touch of acidity from the onions and brightness from the jalapeños. Would definitely go back just for these nachos. The grilled Brie and the spicy filet pasta were both pretty decent, the soft shell crab salad and Mac and cheese were both done really well as well but still paled in comparison to the nachos. Service was a little slow, especially the hour long wait that turned into an hour and a half because the hostess probably forgot about us. The thing about a dish like the nachos was that all can be forgiven by an exceptional bite though. Ambience was classy and industrious, would go back if ever in the area, but next time with a reservation.

Went for brunch. Prefer this new location as it's bright and airy with a wall of windows. Same menu as downtown. Good service today. Had the game & gruyere on sourdough with over easy egg on top, bourbon pear chutney and cherrywood bacon. Came with a side of potatoes. Very good and more than I could eat. Took half home.122

First time visiting this location, and it was a great experience. I made a reservation the day prior through OoenTable. When we arrived, our table was ready and we were seated promptly. Once seated, our waitress Carey came by to greet us and let us know about the specials. She did a great job of responding to our questions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us time to look over the menu and when we were ready to order, her recommendations allowed us to better make informed decisions. While we waited for our orders, we took in the ambiance of the area where we were seated. It was a beautiful, open seating area with windows that provided beautiful views. The tables were not too close together making for a comfortable atmosphere. It didn't take long for our food to arrive and everything looked great. We were there for Sunday brunch, so we opted to go with traditional brunch entrees of chicken & waffles. I chose house potatoes as my side, while my daughter went with Mac & cheese. We also had a couple of brunch cocktails as well. Our meal was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful. Service was wonderful. There was just one detail that prevents me from giving a 5-star rating: the floor. On the way to and from our table, the floor was extremely slippery when we walked through. I'm not sure if something had been spilled or if the floor is just slippery overall. This caused concern for me as someone who had surgery on my foot less than a year ago. Fear of falling and injuring my foot again makes me very uneasy. With that being said, please be mindful of a potentially slippery floor when moving through the restaurant.

This place checks all the boxes! Started with the baked Brie and bruschetta for the table and both were delicious.Had the filet and scallops on a bed of Gouda cheese grits, asparagus and crab butter it's amazing. Carson's is an excellent choice for dining in Lexington.

We had a company business meeting at lunch today. They put our group of 6 in one of the large horseshoe shaped booths which worked out perfect.I had the Jambalaya and a side salad. The Jambalaya was very good with just enough spice. The side salad was huge and very fresh.

Carson's has certainly been on my list to try on my next visit to Lexington! Let's take a look: Service/logistics: recommend making a reservation. Quick early dinner on a Monday had about an hour wait so I sat at the bar. There were about 4 staff behind the bar, all very attentive and welcoming. There are TVs however not a loud bar vibe. The bar is at the back of the dining room facing a small pond and walking trail. Food: Ahi Poke Lettuce Wraps 3.5/5. Fresh Tuna with avocado. Great portion. Needed a little bolder flavor even with the wasabi aioli. I asked for extra spicy soy and that did the trick. Side Chopped Salad- 4/5 love the blue cheese crumble with ranch dressing combo. Not too overpowering n the blue cheese. Comes with a garlic truffle roll that sounds amazing, but was a white dinner roll with some garlic and butter on top. Did not taste the truffle. But overall just bread, rated 4 because of the anticipation and let down. Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich: 3.5/5 also needed a bolder flavor. The dipping sauce was thicker than usual au jus, like a glaze. Good flavor. French fries were good and crisp. I wanted truffle, however the response was not we don't do that except "we only do that with steak frites." Very odd and weird. Open to try again but certainly did not live up to the hype and excitement of wanting to try for 8 hours away.

Tried this new Carson's for the first time after good experiences at the downtown location. We shared the baked Brie for our appetizer. My wife had the shaved prime rib sandwich with the Gouda Mac-n-cheese. I had the BBQ Ribs & Shrimp. Each choice was spectacular in taste and satisfaction. The service was top notch. The bill was $90 including soft drinks and tip. Great job folks. We will return.

Went to dinner with my wife and everything was exceptional. First the restaurant itself was beautiful, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.We both had the 8 oz. Filet and it was fantastic. Great flavor and cooked just as we ordered. The sides were very good as well. We had the chopped wedge, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. We had a couple of drinks and dessert as well. All I can say is try this great place. I now understand why it is always packed when we drive by. We will definitely be making this a regular spot when dining out.

We've dined there twice in the last month and both times were exceptional. I love this location so much more than the downtown location. The booths are big and comfortable and you can easily have a conversation. Definitely not too loud. The vibes are good and the music is perfect. I even love the bathrooms.The food is excellent. I've had the filet the last two times because it was delicious! The Caesar salad is perfect. The only thing I've ever had I didn't like were the teriyaki green beans, but that could just be me. Oh, and if you have the opportunity, get the truffle fries or Mac and cheese with something. Both were standouts! All in all a great experience in a very inviting restaurant!

Omg best food ever. Food service was amazing. The food was pretty well priced for upscale dining. The ambiance was very face and upscale.
