While not fancy and a bit off the beaten path this place is worth the effort (only 6 miles from Spring Mill State Park). Tasted and bought several different wines, not busy while we were there - we enjoyed chatting with the owner about the wines and the history of the place. You should stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Great, laid back atmosphere, the young lady serving us was filled with information about all the wine selections. We left with a couple of bottles of Red Tiger Red & the other couple traveling with us bought the Eclipse group & filled a case up!

To start with, this is the only wine that is drank in our house. Carousel is well known and loved for their sweet wines and their fruity dessert wines have no comparison in the local market. The signature Tiger Red is a sweeter mellow wine that would go equally well with steaks as it would with chocolate. I'm anxiously awaiting the chance to marinate chicken in their Lady Luck blush. And if you're lucky enough to get your hands on a bottle of raspberry be prepared for an explosion of liquid sweet tarts on your tongue. As for ambiance, don't expect a quick trip. Visiting with Miss Sue is like visiting with your granny or your favorite auntie. Take the time to enjoy the conversation as you sample any of the wines she currently has available You're bound to leave with both a new favorite wine and a new bit of happiness in your heart.

Don't let the way out of the way location or the exterior of the winery detour you. The owner is a wealth of information and she is passionate about her wines. The wines she offered were good to very good. We ended up buying 6 and are looking forward to drinking all of them.

On a whim we decided to stop in here and I'm so glad we did. We were unsure if they were open at first but soon the lady came out before we even finished reading the sign to honk if no one was at the winery. You walk into a room decorated with carousel horses. They were out of a lot of things but what they did have was very good. My favorite was the Lady Luck & the apple Wine. They only had sweet wines available today. The cherry may be my wife's new favorite. No chemically tasting wines here. I think we bought a bottle of everything we tried. I hope this sweet lady continues to find new options for her sales since the Indiana state fair grounds no longer allow carry out wine sales.

What a sweet little winery! We arrived 15 minutes before closing and the owners were so nice. They didn't rush us and we loved enjoying a glass on the patio overlooking the pond. They owners understood that Indiana grapes are not the best for reds so they use California grapes for their drys.We did get a bottle of watermelon wine. Not my thing but really, how could you not? No food but I assume you can bring a cheese tray.Love Carousel and hope to get back soon.

I've been here several times throughout the years, and each time it's a gamble on whether or not I'm going to have a good time or leave feeling disappointed. I believe that I have finally figured out what makes it fun.. when it's empty. When there are other groups of people there - even just a few - the folks running the show seem to get flustered and overwhelmed. The previous reviewer hit the nail on the head with that one. Carousel was one of the charter members of the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail, but after a series of unfortunate events, I've noticed they aren't listed on the website anymore. Hopefully they'll be back on the trail soon though. The wines tend to be a bit on the sweet side, although from time to time you get a dry one thrown in. The ports are pretty good too, as long as you like extremely sweet ones. Shadow Dog port is especially good in the chocolate shot glasses. The times I've stopped by with a group, I've felt like we were bothering them, especially if we don't walk out with cases of wine, which here, we never do. The bad thing about being on a wine trail: if you want the prize at the end, you have to hit all of them. My summary: if there are a lot of cars stopped, skip it. If it's close to closing time, skip it (I've been lectured about their hours before). If it's the middle of the day and you're driving by and the parking lot's empty.. stop.

Had a nice visit here while camping at Spring Mill Stare Park. The ladies decided to go for an "off the beaten path" drive to the winery and happy we did. Sue was very informative on their wine process and we loved every tasting we did. After purchasing several cases between us we sat on the deck enjoying the beautiful fall colors/sounds. My pocketbook is pleased she's not in northern Indiana but my tastebuds say otherwise. Saving a bottle to share when our camping group gets together during the holidays. Will definitely be ordering more when my supply is diminished.

We visited Spring Mill Park from Clarksville and saw your sign off of Hwy 60 there. Loved the beautiful wooded area and the Sangiovese wine is great. I cannot wait to try with Greek food that I love. The drive there was a bit unsettling going through a recently flooded area so I may try an alternate route next time. I think we will come back in the fall and enjoy the autumn colors on the patio there. Thanks to Sue for the great conversation. We will be back. Wendy and Dale
