Kathleen C. "Coming home from shopping in Cincinnati and we found this gem. It seemed unique so we wanted to try it. Very quiet late on a Saturday night. Inside is spacious. Casual yet classy. To start, we ordered the fried dumplings. They have a pork filling with a sweet chili and cream cheese drizzle. They were very good. Think crab rangoon but with pork. I ordered the Lindsay Lohan hot dog with goat cheese and onions based on the servers recommendation. It was very good. Very different from any toppings I've had on a hot dog. They do cut the hot dog in half to cook. I do wish they left them whole so you get the "snap" of a good hot dog. My husband ordered the chicken tikka hot wings. There are 6 to an order and they are a good size. The sauce was good but lacked a punch of flavor. As our side, we ordered the cheese curds. They were very good with a cheese pull that is very satisfying. Server was great. Kept our drinks filled and was happy to give recommendations. Overall, recommend giving them a try. The menu is very unique and has something for everyone."

Clay G. "This fun, cash only frozen treat experience only runs a few months out of the year. If you are in Louisville and craving a Dole Whip then this is your spot. The team consists typically of a few high schoolers serving up sweet treats. The location is small and popular so come prepared to stand in line for a while there will be plenty of fur babies available to enjoy while you wait."

Tara R. "Great service and great burgers! Ashamed that I've lived in the area for so long and only recently made my first visit (carry out). The burger was delicious and the fries were as well. The man working the counter was friendly and helpful. Inside was quite nice and next time I will try eating in. I usually have good luck with metered street parking in this area but there are a couple of surface lots nearby. It's a good value too, their prices don't seem to have increased the way similar fast-casual and sit-down spots have. My new favorite burger spot in the area- give them a try!"

Doug K. "If half stars were a thing, I think 3.5 would be perfect for Milkman. To start, you walk in and order at the counter. They have a cooler with a pretty good beverage selection. There are a handful of diner-style table for sitting and you seat yourself after ordering. The menu has 4 or 5 burger options and then a slew of a la carte toppings (each with a fee). We got a Spicy Burger and a Cowboy burger as well as a chocolate shake and a side of fries. The burgers were pretty tasty. Truthfully, they kind of tasted like Five Guys burgers, which is where my lower rating comes from. Also, the fact that each topping is an additional price can make it a relatively pricey meal. The shake was the best part of our meal, that was delicious. The fries were also quite tasty. They were crispy and well seasoned. Overall, for the price and selection, I'm not sure I would go back."

Sherry J. "We are new to this location. We came 15 minutes before closing. We were met at the drive thru by a very polite young man that took our orders. He named off all the Sunday flavors for my husband. He got the butterscotch. After seeing a photo on another review of cookie Sunday I had to have that. The cookies Sunday came with 2 soft warm cookies fudge topping and whipped cream. It did not disappoint. My husband enjoyed his butterscotch Sunday. We will come again"

Barrel of Fun Ice Cream

Joseph G. "Long time staple of the Louisville Ice cream scene. This fun location with the actual barrel as the building has been serving hot dogs, burgers and ice cream treats to the highview area of Louisville for a very long time. Very quaint and cutesy location with the design. For as long as it has been in the area I have never visited until last night. A few times over the last 15 years or so I stopped in to grab an ice cream but they were always cash only. And I never carry cash. I recently found out they accept cards now so I made a return visit last night. I had heard this place has good food. So we ate real food first. I personally got a cheeseburger and it lived up to the hype. Very good. Nice meat and cheese and the burger had a very good salt flavor too it without being overbearing. My oldest daughter got the Cheeseburger as well and liked it a lot. My second youngest daughter and niece got a hot dog and nachos to share and my wife shared a pretzel with the baby. Second oldest was at practice so she missed out. Nachos were just ok. My niece said the hot dog was good she gave it a big ole thumbs up. And the wife enjoyed her pretzel. Overall the food portion cost us $19. So not bad at all. And they got it out to us in about 5-7 min. So good speed too and food was fresh. After the main course we circled back and got ice creams. I personally got a brown derby chocolate on chocolate. Which is a personal favorite of mine when ice cream places offer it. My oldest got a banana split, my second youngest and niece got a vanilla ice cream in a cup with m&ms on top (the worker stated they normal don't do that since they offer flurries but made an exception this time), and the wife got a hot fudge cake. Overall it cost right over $17. So once again not bad pricing and they got it out within a few minutes. The kids all liked there ice creams and banana split. My wife's hot fudge cake was amazing. I'd highly recommend that and the next time I go it's absolutely what I'm getting. My brown derby was good. Usually local places over these chocolate crusted chocolate cones and play off the Kentucky "derby" fame. It was pretty good. Not the best one I have had as the chocolate on the outside was not very thick or hard so it broke away easy and melted fast despite it only being barely 50 degrees outside. But it was still tasty. Overall great experience. Very good food and ice cream and very cool location to take the family for a good time. They have plenty of patio space with picnic tables and most of it is covered to keep out weather elements. So that is nice. I can see why it is a long time staple of the area. And now that they take credit cards like a legit business should I'll gladly come by more often for cheeseburgers and ice cream."

Jennifer P. "Cute place. Ice cream was good. The portions were large. They must have trouble with people behaving because I've never seen so many signs telling me not to do so many different things in such a small place. Pro tip..If yall plan to have an ice cream joint, directly across from a play ground, you're going to need to have some kid proof furniture and decor or you'll just drive yourself crazy."

Jay B. "I have never been here before but every time I pass the building, I don't really think I've seen it busy in here before. Had I not been craving a burger, I don't believe I would have stepped in. The burger itself was extremely greasy on top and the burger looked smashed as if someone leaned on it. Burgers aren't pretty foods though so I wasn't expecting a master piece. The fries were just ok. When I tried to eat my burger, it just fell apart from the soggy bun to the poorly constructed sandwich components. I enjoyed the flavor though I could only fit in pieces of the deconstructed burger so it wasn't cohesive. I can say that I prefer Five Guys but the staff here at Home Run are so much nicer. It is convenient since it is close to campus but I'd have to be in a mood to visit again."

Burritos are big enough for two, it's so packed and filled. I love their mango salsa on my tacos and honestly I could eat it with everything. If you're big on sauces, there's are the bomb. Don't eat the fries with just ketchup! The menu isn't too big nor is their drink selection but there's a bar in the next restaurant (both are connected, I believe it's the same owner?) They're still new so I'm excited to see how they'll grow."

Tj P. "So, it seems the wind is pretty strong from Chicago, because apparently the greasy breeze has blown in a few of these joints. Four locations so far, sticking more to the West or South end. And the menu is either deep fried or on a flat grill. That's not necessarily a bad thing but just keep that in mind because if you're expecting any low-carb options, you won't find them. The location I happened to be passing by is on Cane Run Rd., and I thought fried fish on a Friday would be appropriate so I stopped in. A small line had formed for the carry-out, the service was quick though and I stepped to the counter and placed my order, and then stepped aside while I waited. As I waited, a call-in order stopped in to pick up their food. She handed the cashier her money and her food was brought to her immediately. However, apparently there was an issue with lemon pepper. It seems that lemon pepper is the spice of choice on all CS&L's fried food. And lots of it. And this customer didn't want any of it and supposedly had requested none be on her order. Of course, a short argument ensued and the merits of lemon pepper in all it's glorious goodness were expounded upon but in the end, the customer is always right. The manager acquiesced and the order was re-done.My number was called immediately after this little drama. I paid and headed home, fried food in hand. With stuff like this, I'm not sure what I expect. It's deep-fried food. There's not many ways to go. The food was OK. Lemon-peppery large portions of fried food. Not much more to be said, but it's doubtful I'll go back. It's simply not that special and the overall experience lands somewhere between meh and eh."

First time I went, I had the steak pita and I ate off of it twice because it was so big! The next time I went, I had the double bacon cheeseburger which was delicious also! Not to mention they have kool-aid which was not too sweet and not too tart. I would have posted a picture of my burger but I ate it before I could lol. Definitely a great restaurant to visit. Also, the cashier is great. Pretty sure that she's one of the owners but she's awesome!"

Ron M. "Brand new to town, ordered a hamburger with mayo, onion, tomatoes, pickles and mustard. the toppings were done nicely and no complaints but the actual patties are in my honest opinion overcooked and there was little flavor of beef left over the charred surface. I went with the fries on the side, and they were just okay as well, I have had fresh cut fries before and these weren't as good. Also they have a Coke machine where you choose the flavors, and I got straight Coca Cola, and it didn't taste anything like Coca Cola, personally was disappointed paying $17+ and would have been so much happier getting a burger at bacon burger at Applebee's for $9.99 and got better fries included and a true tasting fountain Cola... If I return it will be only to try a milk shake."
