"This is the Sunday Lexington Farmers Market. It's located in the parking lot of a strip mall, on Southland Drive. I only go here if I missing the downtown Saturday market in the Rupp Arena parking lot... they do a wonderful job at mandating social distancing at that other location. No social distancing here. They try, but some people have no sense of personal space. They have chalk circles for you to stand in line, but no one was paying attention to them. It was pretty crowded when we were there around noon though. There seem to be a lot more vendors this year too. Several flower and plant farmers. West Sixth Brewery is always there with a new weekly release... this is the real reason my husband loves coming to the farmers markets. Lexington Pasta is always there too, with plenty of their homemade pastas, gnocchi, pizza dough, sauces, etc. One thing that I must mention that I don't think a lot of people realize, is that you can use a debit or credit card. You go to the main Lexington Farmers Market tent, and they will run your card in exchange for wooden tokens. They also have plenty of individually bagged disposable masks... for free. They try, they really do. Don't touch, let the farmers hand you the product. That means, don't pick up the product to inspect. I know, we've all done it, but times are a changin'."
"Searching for a new family fall festival a recommendation came to try the 11th annual Foxhollow Farm. Great idea!Located 15 miles from Louisville in Crestwood Ky. At the festival we found a well organized event which included old farm fun activities for the kids, you pick pumpkin patch, corn maze, Hayrides, a baled hay castle to climb, tin can bowling, balloon pop, face painting, silk dyes and play ground. Many food trucks, arts and crafts & vender booths lined the walkway as well as a music area with plenty of seating. At the back side we found a adult area serving beer and cocktails. Woohoo! Some surprisingly unique items of interest found on the hayride was a large group of stone carved obelisks (see photos) each had carved symbols of nature, as we ventured the property we noticed more scattered single large stone obelisks. Foxhollow is a 100% grass fed beef cattle farm which supports a biodynamic community. Also you can order their beef online any size and cut boxed and shipped. Foxhollow.com and through several social media sites. The festival has a goal to give back to the community "Dare to care food bank" of farm fresh fruits and vegetables as well as its outreach program for "Maryhurst" field trips. What a well planned and organized event down to the last detail. Every attention was given to plenty of restroom and hand washing station, five recycling station facilities and to plentiful parking. Highly recommend Foxhollow Farm for your next fall festival. Normally held on the 2nd Saturday of October."
"NO LONGER SERVING BREAKFAST. Breakfast Wednesday- Sunday mornings. The homemade biscuits are amazing!! The house made bacon is not to be missed. The seating area is small and it is a little loud but it is a fun atmosphere. Check out the market items while you are there."
"Thursdays in the summer are a blessing if you're in the hospital area. This market is awesome. Not only do you have several farm vendors to get your produce, eggs, meat, cheese, honey, etc., but they offer several excellent options for prepared lunches. Dreamcatcher Farm has a great burger ($5) and quiche and I'm enamored with their tomato pie, which only seems to show up some of the time. Kassidy's Kackle House offers $4 sandwiches with freshly (and locally) made chicken salad or egg salad (among others). This week a Texas-style tamale stand showed up. And Cake Flour is always there with their breads and sweets. Plus, you can get your soaps and flowers and baked goods, canned goods, if that's your thing. I think the market has acquired enough of a following that the number of vendors is only going to improve. It's great to have access to fresh, locally grown food in the downtown area. And to have another good & affordable lunch option.Runs mid-May through October."
"Vendors offer various wares from fresh fruit and vegetables to homemade jewelry and furniture. Normally, there is a live band that plays all types of music. The entire market is an enjoyable experience."
"Sunny acre farm is a place that my family and I like to visit a lot of times during the fall season like most people you go get pumpkins pet the animals go through the cool little corn mazes in the different things that they offer. It is a minimal fee to park there and it is worth it though because the kids have fun I have five it is worth a lot a good photo ops so we try to check it out about once a fall"
"Stopped at the market on the way to the larger Lexington Farmers Market. This is a smaller market but very good. There were fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, chow-chow (Farmer Pete's), barbecue, preserves and jellies, tie-dyed clothing, homemade Barbie clothes, soaps, beer making demonstration, live rock band; just a good early Saturday morning thing to do. You should get up, grab a coffee, and go!"
"We drove to Happy Jack's farm near Frankfort Kentucky. We absolutely loved this farm and pumpkin patch. First there is no fees to do the activities but they had less activities because it is a true growing farm. Many animals walking around and you could purchase feed to feed the goats for a small fee. We enjoyed seeing the longhorn cattle on our way there and all the chickens walking around. We rode out to the pumpkin patch on a wagon pulled by a tractor. The pumpkin patch is really large and the ride was quite nice. We bought a small pumpkin that was reasonably priced at $4.00."
"We visited here last Saturday evening for a special farmers market event. They had live music. They had food, vendors and taco trucks and drink some beer and all kinds of fun stuff. It was great environment and a good experience for sure."
"This farmers market may not be the largest in Louisville, but I contend it is one of the best. Here's why:* Great selection. There are produce stands as well as meat vendors, desserts, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cheese, ice cream, flowers and ready-to-eat providers. One stand had pimento cheese sliders, but had sold out before I got there. I must go back and buy these!* It goes later in the afternoon, to 2pm, than other markets.* It takes place on a beautiful shaded lawn in front of a historic estate house.* It's dog friendly, unlike other markets.* Live music on the steps of the historic home.* Want to keep the good vibes going? Walk across the street to Great Flood Brewing or La Suerte. It's hard to come away from this market without at least some goodies to eat."
"Love this place, great service, fresh eggs. Tom has mild and mild sausage. Lamb is excellent."
"This farmers market is a nice addition to our wonderful community. It runs on Saturdays in the Spring and Summer. It is a nice variety of items to buy and they have arts and crafts for children. We have a great time each visit. Definitely worth the trip"

This is a smaller market than the one held downtown on Saturdays but there are still plenty of vendors and lots of variety. You will find fresh pasta, homemade cheeses, local meat, herbs, fruits, fresh cut flowers, and veggies here. I always being plenty of small bills, but you can also use your debit card at the Farmer's Market table and get wooden coins that can be used just like cash at most of the vendors. My favorite part of my visit today was Roger and Clay, two older gentleman playing guitar and fiddle and singing for tips. Dogs are welcome at the market and one vendor even sells bones (real bones not baked dog treats)!

Review is for Sunset Concert series. Concerts are the first Friday of the summer months from 6-9 pm. We had an absolutely wonderful relaxing time! We attended two of the sunset concert series events and both concerts were perfect. Both concerts had different food truck options from local companies and they were all great. There are also wine and cocktail options. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Bring a blanket and chairs because the concert is outside and there are no chairs. The concerts are fun for all ages so make sure and bring the whole gang. If it happens to rain, which it did one of the concerts, they move the event inside.

Mid-week, mid-day farmer's market downtown.Conveniently close to my office.I haven't much perused the goods. But there are always a few food trucks, so I know where to find a good lunch close to the office. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

I stumbled upon the Beechmont market today. I loved it! There were the veggies that you would expect and every peas great. I especially loved the booth with the beautiful ceramics. Mugs, whistles, pendants, all beautiful! Great gifts- I highly recommend them! The market runs October I think. Make sure to hit it up before season end. The Beechmont community is great. This market, the library, walking down Southern Parkway or Iroquois Park- feels like home!

Cozy and quaint little farm that my family and will sometimes hit up during the fall/autumn season to walk through pumpkin patches and do hayrides. Thai location is much smaller than say a hubers farms or Deere farms but it closer and cheaper for the Louisville residents such as my family. The younger kids will have a lot more fun as there a lot of tiny bounce houses. Older kids to tweens may run out of things to do quicker. But it is still a cute little farm that will put you in the holiday or fall spirit.

"Awesome little market with seemingly all of the Kentucky Proud food products. If you've had a Kentucky local product and don't know where to find it again check here! There is a deli with sliced meat and cheese, cold bar for prepared salads, hot bar with soups, fresh fudge, and fresh bread baked in Utica, and a variety of pressed fruit ciders! Reasonable prices and lots of infused oils, rubs, sauces, and snacks should keep you coming back!"
"I love coming here during the open season. The different vendors are always super friendly and helpful. They have farm vegetables, handmade soaps, flowers, grass feed meats, sometimes fresh bread. I am always pleased with my produce and the quality and price. They have a porter potty and sometime a couple a food trucks on Saturday mornings. Parking can be a little tricky depending on what time you get there. The earlier the better."
"I went to the Georgetown/Scott County Farmer's Market with my sister-in-law while visiting her in Georgetown. We hadn't planned to go, but we saw it while driving by and randomly decided to stop, and I'm so glad we did! The market was small during our visit (compared to the Louisville markets I'm used to), but the booths that were set up could cover all of your Saturday morning farmer's market needs. There were flowers, fruits, vegetables, breads, jams, herbs & spices, and more. Plus, my sister-in-law said she's visited before, and it's usually larger, so I'm sure during the summer months you could visit this market and pick up anything you may need. And all of the vendors were extremely friendly! If you're in the Georgetown area and have a chance to stop at this market I definitely recommend it!"
"This is a year round market in Lexington and has wonderful selections from local farmers. I like that each vendor has a sign that shows whether they grew the products they are selling and I tend to avoid those who don't. You will find fruits and vegetables, meat products, CBD oil, alpaca products, fresh pasta and sauces, food made to order, fresh flowers sometimes the olive oil vendor, sometimes the beer folks... it all depends on the weather! At the height of the market you would be amazed by the beautiful choices of products. As you can see from my photos, there's nothing better than the farmers market. I go here frequently and bring cash, but there is a guy to swipe a card and get tokens if you need it. After spending cash here I usually hang around downtown and have brunch!"
"Small and crowded and awesome. The granddaddy of local farmer's markets. Saturdays with summer hours 8-12, winter 10-12. If you can't walk here, park on Bardstown Road.Year-round greens, meats, eggs, jams, breads, flowers. Seasonal everything.Technically my third favorite local market after Douglass Loop (which is summers only) and New Albany across the river. But really, do you need stuff from 10 different farms? The solid core here always delivers, and at reasonable prices."
"I visited Mulberry Orchard for a race with KentuckyRuns, the 2019 Great Pumpkin 5k. The orchard is charming and cute, a great place to pick some fruit, buy some tasty season foods, and bring your kids to play and pet some farm animals. It really hits all the marks for what you would expect from a farm or orchard. In terms of the race, though, I was really impressed. They were amply prepared for the mass of folks to show up for the run through the trees and fields. There was plenty of parking and a very good number of volunteers to direct participants in the correct direction. Packet pick up was a breeze and quick and simple. The trail was simple to follow, clear and as safe as a race through nature could be. We ended with our own mini pumpkin, a cup of delicious apple cider and a cool (albeit cheap and it has already fallen apart) medal that is also a magnet! It was definitely one of the best organized and executed novelty races I have done. I would absolutely participate again next year. And in the meantime, I wouldn't mind another visit to the orchard just to experience it on its own merits."
"I was so excited to go to Hinton's and pick out our pumpkins this past weekend. Unfortunately it was a little drizzly and they weren't taking people out to the fields to pick out pumpkins. We were very disappointed, especially since we had already bought advance tickets online. They offered us a coupon for next weekend to make up for it. I would much rather have had my money back. We decided to look at the pumpkins they had out and try to pick from those. Honestly, the selection was not good at all and I didn't find any I liked. We looked around their little market and didn't really find anything. We thought about getting some apple butter but decided against it. The place looked pretty run down and sad. Maybe they are struggling right now with COVID? I'm not sure but I felt a little bad for them. That's why I didn't demand my money back.Maybe I was expecting something like Huber's in Indiana. It was nothing like it. I doubt I'll ever be back, even with the coupon for next weekend."
"I love this market. It has quite a few booths and I love the fresh produce, meat and flowers. Be sure to bring cash, many vendors request cash. It may be a drive for me, but I am happy to make the drive for the quality and variety they offer here. There are also baked goods too. Loved the fresh flowers. The larger arrangement lasted 2 weeks."
"I am the General Manager of a local restaurant in Louisville but live in Shelbyville and stopped by to see what they had for my store. They were so helpful and assisted me in making all my ideas a reality. Great Prices, amazing quality of plants AND they helped me load my car(it was so full of plants) . I'll definitely be back for more plants for my home"
"I really like the Fourth Street Live! Farmer's Market! I have an office downtown, so I've visited this farmer's market several times, since it's easy to walk over to from that location. Depending on the day there may be more or less vendors set up, but I feel like there's always a great variety of items. You can typically find food stuffs, produce, jams, candies, coffee or tea, and more at this market. If you're in the downtown area this is a great resource around lunch time, so do yourself a favor and walk over and check it out!"
"Norton Commons hosts their farmer's market on Sunday, which makes it unique from others around Louisville. However, while the number of vendors has grown, I didn't spot many selling fruits, veggies or meat. Those that were had a steady crowd. What I did spot today: jarred veggies and preserves, soaps and candles, handcrafted baby items and toys, Berserker cold brew, West 6th beer, desserts by the slice, wooden artwork and food trucks. The farmers market is held near the regular cottages (steel city pops, alchemy, bluegrass witch, etc.) so they'll be open for business too. This was a quick pit stop for our day, approx 30 minutes. If you come hungry they have 2-3 food trucks or booths to grab a snack. We picked up beef lumpia from the Bamba's food truck and sat on the post office steps. There's a few tables around the cottages and we spotted a couple of families laying blankets in the field for a quick picnic."
"Triple J Farms in Scott County is an absolute gem! Jeremy talked me through the process for booking my side of grass fed cared for beef. Drove out this morning to see the operation and pick up some in stock beef items shirt ribs, brats and ground beef. We could not be more pleased with everything. You can tell when speaking with someone how they care for their farm and cattle Jeremy loves being a farmer and thank God for him and all the farmers who spend their lives making sure we are fed. They grow vegetables and strawberries we can't wait to see what is in season soon. Nice drive out and not far. You gotta check this great farm out. If you love from the ground to your plate like I do you will be happy."
"Thick, creamy, flavorful ice cream. This little gem is not far from Lake Jericho and Keepers restaurant. In addition to cups and cones of ice cream, you're also able to buy pints and quarts as well. Pricing is consistent with other ice cream shops in Louisville, but I love meeting the people who raise the cows and make the product. Great folks! They also sell cuts of meat from their cows. Believe me when I say that once you eat local beef, you'll never go back! Additionally, they can bring the food truck to your event! Who doesn't love ice cream?"
"Very glad that I live near the Phoenix Hill (NuLu) Farmer's Market. It is held on Tuesday afternoons from 3pm to 6 pm. It is located in the Fresh Start lot bordered by East Market, Baxter and Jefferson Streets. It is a small to medium sized market but the vendors carry a wide selection of fresh veggies, fruits and also baked and canned goods. The lot offers plenty of parking."
"Bardstown Farmers Market is the the best. Come Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. All the vendors are very friendly and you will find fair prices on veggies and flowers. You will find treats for your kids and canine! Highly recommended to come to bardstown and check it out!"
"This is a nice farmers market that offers a lot bigger than I expected. It takes up two large parking lots. It offers a wide variety of food and has ample parking for visitors. It is located in the heart of down town new Albany"
"Cute place with friendly staff in a cool setting. I'm not going to sugar coat the wine, it is not the most complex apart from some of the reds, but honestly, the ambiance and down home feel make up for any lack of structure or body in the wines. I did a red flight and found the Cabernet to my liking as it had some pepper notes and berry flavor that would pair well with a heavier meal or cheese. Speaking of cheese, my wife and I shared a cheese plate that was packed with delicious items. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the peacefulness apart from a few flys that wanted to enjoy our cheese. BACKOFF my cheese! ha ha As far as COVID-19 is concerned, tables inside are spaced apart and the staff used masks whenever possible. I look forward to future visits and sitting indoors enjoying wine and a music performer on the stage. In closing, Schoolyard is place that is worth a visit. It's great to see a winery with charm and genuine salt of the earth staff."
"There are a lot of farmer vendors set up at this location which functions multiple days a week. All of the Farmers and workers are very friendly and helpful and all of the food is locally grown. I love that they accept SNAP benefits and WIC vouchers so that families that are low incomes can shop. Today they were also offering Free hotdogs and salad ms to everyone as well as free lunchables, apple sauce cups and chocolate milk."
"When my parents moved to Winchester, I was a afraid that they wouldn't be able to find gems such as this in Winchester. Wrong. Winchester is full of gems, and this so happens to be one of them. I found it on Facebook and Mom and I headed over on a Saturday morning. I wish I hadn't went grocery shopping the night before because a lot of the items that I bought at the grocery were available here too. I guess that's the bad thing about coming to a Farmers Market on a spur of the moment. Note to self, make sure that I don't go grocery shopping before coming here. Items like cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, etc were all items that I spotted and would've snagged. Instead, I walked away with a few tomato plants. Yes, I know you're surprised... I'm growing tomatoes. The locals were socializing and I could totally sense that a lot people come here as a social thing in addition to scoring local homegrown goods."
"We took a cross county trip last Saturday, and stopped here for a late lunch. Previous experience with sandwiches from an Amish store led me to believe we would be happy with what we received, and we were not disappointed! We arrived about 1:00 pm., and still had to wait in line to order our food. All of the sandwiches are made to order, and have generous portions. Most of the patrons were wearing masks, and we tried to keep the 6 foot distance between us, but we couldn't always keep the correct distance due to the number of people inside. We also picked up a few grocery items, and some no sugar added milk chocolate peanut clusters that my hubby really enjoyed. They have a couple of shelves of no sugar added items, including a beverage mix, flavored gelatin, and various candy including fudge. We will definitely make a return trip here!Hubby and I sat outside on the covered porch to eat, and most of the crowd was gone by the time we finished. If I had waited to get my grocery items then, social distancing wouldn't have been a problem! On another note, they do accept credit cards, and power the grocery operation with solar panels."
"Shady Lane is awesome. This is our go to place to pick pumpkins with the kids in the fall. The staff are always friendly and the prices for the hayride, the corn maze, and the pumpkins are very reasonable. They also have homemade food available to purchase and eat in their adorable barn/dining area and everything I've had has been delicious. They have chili, beans and cornbread plus hot dogs, and nachos. They also have a nice selection of freshly baked cookies and other baked goods. My two girls ages 4 and 5 this year had a blast playing on the big hay bales and feeding the chickens. They also loved the tire swings. They tend to be a bit less crowded than some of the competitors which I love and the hayride to the pumpkin patch is much more quaint than the one at Hubers probably because it's just so much of a smaller operation. Overall I love this place and I wish they hadn't been out of their awesome sweet pickle relish on our last trip because I could eat a ton of it!"
"I've been coming to this family farm since the pandemic hit, making it difficult to find meat. Now that I've been coming here, I have more appreciation for the work farmers do to provide food for the community; especially local farmers. This farm is run by family and they work about 90 hours per week to provide their customers, farm fresh produce, grass fed beef, pigs and chickens. They also sell flowers and ferns and home made preserves-strawberry is my favorite! It's great to know where your meat comes from and now, I will do my best to support my local farm!Go visit them and bring the kiddos-so they will know where their food comes from and how important of a job farmers have! They also have a Facebook page where they advertise meat packages..which is a great way to sample their products."
"What a beautiful (hot) day for a Farmers Market! It's been years since my last visit in St Matthews and it's grown. When I first arrived I was a bit overwhelmed between the crowd and number of vendors. My husband suggested we start with coffee - brilliant! Sunergos had a booth and was the only vendor offering it. We grabbed a cold brew for $3 and then stood in line for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough bread for $5. If you're looking for a savory breakfast this was a great option or another farmer was cooking up breakfast burritos. For sweet you'll be in luck too. The muffins and breads were difficult to pass up. I had to refocus more than once.If you are looking for meat you'll find several options here. So many coolers! Prices are similar regardless of the farm so I imagine you try one from here, another from there and eventually find one you always appreciate the most. We are new at this and weren't sure how much a lb of meat would feed, which is how things are priced. Basically it depends on how the meats are packed. Some are 1/2 and other 3/4 lb. Not ready to purchase steak we did get a thinner cut of steak sandwich meat to grill up for steak sandwiches. The gentleman was so friendly and told us how long to cook it, then recommended grabbing a baguette instead of using a bun. Of course veggies are abundant here, some prettier than others but we know ugly doesn't mean they don't taste good. Peaches are now in season and ears of corn. One booth had an amazing selection of hydrangea bushes while others sold flowers by the bunch or stem. A few folks offered canned/pickled veggies. Some soaps, jewelry, etc to round out the shopping too. Pro tips: bring your own shopping bag (although most vendors have plastic), come early so you can eat (tables available for sitting), park behind the church (not across the street), do not bring your dog, budget extra money (prices are higher than the grocery), wear sunscreen (no shade), take home a flower (you'll smile more)."
