"My wife is a big fan of Angel's Envy Rye, so it was only fitting that our first distillery tour was at Angel's Envy. We did the Private Select tour that lasts an hour. Kelsea was a super smart and engaging tour guide. Loved her energy and how interactive she made the tour. Like all distillery tours, the tour walks you thru the production steps. I found the facility to be spacious, beautifully designed with awesome signage. As someone who loves technology, the new bottling/labeling line was fun to watch. They can produce almost 50K bottles daily. For our tasting, we tried three types of bourbon. The first was used to prep our mouth and senses for the next two tastings. We also had chocolates that came alive when tasted with the bourbon. If you are fortunate to have Kelsea as your guide, make sure you spell her first name correctly in any review. Her awesome presentation was worthy of a nice tip, which we happily shared as we left the boardroom. In the retail store on the main level, pick up a bottle and have your name inscribed for $10. A neat keepsake for any visit.#angelsenvy"
"I had to stop by here to experience a little bit of bourbon during my visit to Lexington. I'm not a huge bourbon drinker, but wanted to try out some options. The bartender working that day was brand new and the other one had called off so she was on her own while still learning. Overall, she was very sweet and did a good job. I went ahead and ordered the County Judge to drink which had some orange juice and other items in it. It was pretty good. I was intrigued by the Elkhorn burgoo so I had to try it! It came out very quick and it was very hot. I enjoyed it. I really liked the ambiance in here. There were a mix of tables, sofas, and chairs."
"Amaaazinggg!!! My friend and I each did the 3 course meal and it was sooo good. I wasn't a huge fan of the samurai salad but the smoked wings + fig & pig pizza were to die for... and I'm a smoked wing connoisseur. Will definitely be going again!!"

Although I prefer distilleries away from urban areas Angel's Envy caught my eye several years ago after seeing a video made by the late graphic designer, Julius Friedman. An old historic building renovated into an attractive distillery plus half off a tour because it was Hometown Tourist Month was an offer I couldn't refuse. The tour is an hour long with a tasting at the end. Although there is a pay parking lot next to the distillery just a block east on Main Street you can find free parking. I simply parked on Hancock Street(side street off of East Main Street). If you are willing to park a block and half away you can save money. You are also the nearby NuLu district of East Market Street with a number of local shops and restaurants plus some coffee shops.

Late review: we enjoyed our food, esp. my husband loved the Elkhorn burgoo that has beef, rabbit, elk and vegetables. We sat at the back patio because we had our fur baby with us. Too bad I can't remember the server's name, he was super friendly!

My friends and I went to Hop Atomica for a pre holiday dinner and when we walked in there was a DJ playing music and lots of people enjoying the music. I entered the restaurant and started to dance and everyone started hyping me up! It was the best! We asked the hostess if we could sit in the side room to be able to talk as the music was very loud and they were very happy to acquiesce. We decided to order via the table QR code and the food came out quickly for how busy it was. We each ordered a pizza. Mine was the pepperoni pizza with vegan cheese. My friends ordered the fig and mushroom pizzas and they said that they were good. We also ordered drinks and deserts and everything was incredibly delicious. I regret not taking pictures of everything but I was hungry! Just gives me another reason to go back!
