"Stop here! Worth the visit. Service was great. Girl behind the counter smiled the entire time we ordered. Everyone on the car had a different drink and everyone said that it was the best coffee they had ever had. Get the beignets!! Orders two orders! Cool atmosphere. We played cards while we waited! Looks like they had a few lunch items, but had lots of cookies and desserts. And liquor!! We will stop on our way back home also!"
"Consistent year after year winner of best sweet shop in Kentucky and it's located right here in little ole Hodgenville. They have so many varieties of homemade fudge that I could not even begin to list them all here. Literally an entire counter full, plus other homemade candies. They also have fresh baked goods, cakes, pies, cookies, etc. They have many varieties of ice cream and can make milkshakes, malts, sundaes, banana splits, literally any kind of ice cream dessert you want. They have several varieties of cones if you just want an old fashioned ice cream cone. During the height of the pandemic, once a week they would have a hot take away dinner from their food truck take away location. They constantly strive to give back to their community. Everything here is excellent and you can't go wrong no matter what you decide to try. It is definitely worth the trip to Hodgenville if you don't catch them at one of the many venues they attend each year, including having a presence at the Kentucky State Fair."
"An amazing candy store that has been around for generations in downtown Jeffersonville. There is public parking right near the store which had plenty of free parking available. The store itself has lots of candies and chocolates made right there ! A fantastic museum room with excellent curated vintage candy displays . Also a small hot lunch area that closed at 3pm but looked like it would have been tasty.Definitely a place not to be missed if you are in the area ."
"Stopped in after having lunch in New Albany. Great selection of hand crafted chocolates. I ended up with a small box of mixed flavors. I was most excited about the buckeyes. The hot chocolate they offered was delicious. There was also a decent selection of nostalgia candy. The only negative was that the store is really small once you are inside. If there are more than a handful of people, it gets difficult to maneuver around. Overall, the chocolates are delicious and worth a quick stop."
"This place has every sweet treat you could imagine. Something different. The owner was amazing and allowed me to taste a few things I was uncertain of."
"If you love chocolate...this is your spot. A few minutes away from the Woodford Distillery, a great hand crafted chocolate shop. Guaranteed to satisfy your craving. Stop in to say hi to Betty White."
"I really needed to put a care package together for my child who couldn't make it for Xmas (b/c of COVID). Looking for some great Louisville trinkets I came here.It had been a while, this spot had originally been a shop with quirky and fun Louisville-themed items. When we got there we saw that it was now a Candy Shoppe. Well, this is perfect because what care package is complete without some sweets? Right? The variety of candies the Sweet Spot Candy Shop and Dundee Candy range from high-end hand-made truffles and candies to bulk candies and everything in between. Not only did we get some great candies (one in a case that looks like a game controller, how cute is that?) for my out of town baby, but we also picked up a few (ok, A LOT) of truffles for the family that is in town.Parking is street parking and is tricky so if you are close and can walk, I highly recommend it."
"Though Andria's doesn't really have specific hours, when you catch them open, you must go in! I've met the two main employees, one the owner I must assume, and they are both super friendly! The taffy here is THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. Though I'm from Owensboro this is such a hidden treasure that is so delightful to have downtown. I will be sad when I can no longer get that delicious vanilla taffy. The chocolates, caramels, everything is good. It's all made in house slowly and consistently. They tend to run out too, so make sure if you're getting gifts to go early! Thanks Andria's!"
"Art Eatables is a delicious shop, with handmade, bourbon chocolates. In addition to chocolate, they sell caramels, spices, candles, and other sundries. It's a well-designed store. I got the MB Roland bourbon chocolate, the smoked sea salt caramel shots, and bourbon smoked peppercorns. Everything is delicious. I'm obsessed with the chocolate. The caramels disappeared real quick. And the peppercorns have become my go-to. We met the owner when visiting this location. She is so sweet and kind and you can tell she loves what she does. Her customer service was amazing. When visiting Louisville, get to whichever location of Art Eatables you can."

What an unexpected gem in downtown Cynthiana! A menu including food, dessert, and a full bar. The service was great and the atmosphere is incredible for gathering with friends and family. Check it out!

We went down to have Laha's burgers and noticed the shoppe was open! We both commented it looks like a beach fudge shoppe. Inside is also kinda beach/country store... the selection of fudge and ice cream was nice and several other treats. We bought five flavors and here we are 5 days later looking at when we can go back because the fudge is that good! And it did not last long with teens in the house!

I got recommended here from the steam boat museum, and I'm so glad I visited. The museum is free btw, and there's a ton of fun, weird and interesting trinkets.I ended up getting chocolate covered peanuts and dark chocolate covered espresso beans to take home from a work trip. If you need sugar free, they had quite a few good options there as well. The chocolate covered peanuts were perfect!

Finally got to stop in this tiny Sugar Shoppe. It is stocked full of sugary treats of all kinds. So much so, there's not much room for too many people. That's ok. Most don't mind waiting for treats, right? It's worth the trip, even just to check it out. They have prepackaged candy, jar candy, & chocolate candy to buy by the lb. I purchased a Bourbon Bacon Truffle for my husband & some Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans for me. I am enjoying my beans.

Third times a charm. I stopped by two different time during their open hours posted on their Facebook and on google, but they weren't open. That's the only reason I'm giving them four stars instead of 5. They have so many different nut and seed options and flavors along with an assortment of Turkish delights and baklava. Their food service area has so many sweet options and coffee options to choose from. We went there specifically to try their Dubai Strawberries and chocolate bar and they did not disappoint. The staff was very kind and helpful with deciding if we would like anything else. The strawberries are delicious! So rich and creamy with crunch from the pistachio and phyllo dough. Enough to share and eat on for two days. They have 4 different sizes to their Dubai chocolate bars. The small pictured is $8.99 and the prices go up to $50. The bar is a perfect balance of sweet and savory.Definitely a must try.

The home of the world famous KY bourbon ball. The staff was so welcoming and told us they still use Rebecca Ruth's original recipe from 1919. It is perfection. Creamy and rich and full of bourbon flavor. They sell various variety boxes and they have other kinds of liquor filled chocolates as well (ie rum). They also sell dark and milk chocolate sober chocolates. Bourbon toffee is incredible!

This is such a great place for the Highlands to have and I'm glad it's been embraced. The Sweet Spot could be considered Louisville's answer to Rocket Fizz, the candy 'n' soda chain that grew like a weed in the 2010s - usually in downtown districts or other neighborhoods known for walkable nightlife. The Sweet Spot is less edgy (you won't find any "Fidel Castro's Havana Banana" soda here) but just as delightful for all ages - perhaps most of all for the adults who are fresh off a "Kentucky High-5" from Against the Grain down the street.Whether you're after regular packaged candy or the fancy glass-counter offerings, you'll find that the selection here is well above average. The staff is terrific and the prices really aren't bad for a specialty store like this. My favorite part is the soda cooler, which is reasonable at two bucks a bottle and contains some genuinely unexpected regional favorites. A visit to The Sweet Spot is your chance to finally try Double Cola in a glass bottle, enjoy a taste of Kansas City with some Atomic Fizz, or embrace your inner Evansvillian with some West Side Water (a.k.a. Ski).If you start regularly walking Bardstown Road, you just might find yourself visiting The Sweet Spot more than you expect. A true delight.

"Evidently this place is new. As of July 2017. Same owners as the little shop next door. Maybe they still have not filled out all of their inventory/ merchandise, but it didn't have enough variety for my taste. It was decorated cute and the highlight was that there was a fast running Ms Pac-Man machine at the back. Owner was very nice and if you need to grab a few candy nibbles for the car that aren't chocolate, this might be your spot!"
"This was a nice store and they had a lot of gift items. I bought a box of 24 blue Monday candies. I forget that they were originated by Ruth Hunt. We love to send our friends from Hawaii gifts that are only available in Kentucky. I enjoyed the friendly staff and our shopping visit to this location. I was really not aware that this store was at this location since they have a store in Mount Sterling Kentucky. We will be visiting again. Thanks again!"
"What a lovely store! They've got ice cream, truffles, party decor, and more. The sweet tooth was acting up, so I swung by and tried some of their seasonal ice cream flavors -- namely, pumpkin pie and banana chip. Their truffles looked beautiful, so I decided to order a small box to go. I got carrot cake, dark champagne, s'mores, and peanut butter chocolate (that wasn't the name, but the flavor profile is like Reese's). I haven't tried them yet, but they look and smell good, and I know they'll be excellent. All the while, I had excellent conversation with the staff there -- I didn't catch her name though. Swing by if you're in town!"
"As Art Eatables sells their chocolates at most of the bourbon distilleries, it was great to go to the source and be able to compare them. The wonderful smell of chocolate hits you as soon as you walk into the store! Went there twice this trip, and both assistants were very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products. It was nice to have a sample and taste that delectable combination of chocolate and bourbon!Got a couple of small sample boxes as omiyage, and a sampler box for myself. Military discount, that was nice! Will definitely repeat when my travels bring me back to Louisville and two thumbs up to recommend!"
"I wish I could give Bryant's 10 stars. I've never gotten such outstanding customer service at any other business! I'm thrilled they opened a second location in J-town (close to my office). It's like going to Disneyworld for me. Just being surrounded by aisles and aisles of caking products makes me happy!Today I had a coupon for 15% off at both locations. I went to the Fegenbush Lane shop to get a lot of boards and boxes for upcoming cakes I'm working on. I also got dowel rods, fondant, and a butterfly cutter. I needed gumpaste, but they were out and I also wanted a 16"drum in silver foil. They called the Ruckreigel store and told me they had the items I needed. They had already special-ordered a start shaped pan at the J-town shop for me. When I drove over and walked in the door they had my pan, the gumpaste and the 16"drum ready for me. It was so convenient and I got 15% off each order! I wish all stores were this awesome!"
"Wish I could bottle the smell of this candy factory from the parking lot & share it with everyone! The smell takes me back to reading the book Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. For 120 years, Anna's family passed this amazing recipe down & after working in her parents basement she now sells all over the world, even to Williams Sonoma. And now Vegas regularly. I'd rather visit the factory when in Kentucky cause they make the candies & package them freshly for you right there. Also to visit w/ Anna, she's such a wonderful passionate woman. Huge fan of the Bourbon Sea Salt Caramels mmm... perfect amount of salt to keep you wanting another piece. The Chocolate Modjeska's are what I wish I had for my s'mores since I was a lil kid! The Original Caramel Modjeska's are not only divine alone, but quarter them & the Bourbon Seat Salt on top of your sweet potatoes. Oh, heavens! Homemade, down to the marshmallow in the middle and I'll never like regular store bought marshmallows again. Also we got a recipe for the Modjeska's from the Food Network. Perfect lil gift from the heart & soul of Kentucky & for yourself & loved ones. I have been a regular since October & have gifted many people including my horse grooms cause I wanna share it w/ everyone. Mmm it's so good!"
"I remember as a kid always getting Easter baskets with candy from a place called Muth's. I would always hear the stories from my mom how her family would go visit and stock up. This place is nearing the century mark, if it hasn't already. Thankfully, I have been able to make visits of my own to check it out, and I am so glad to see that it seems like it was as when my mom would speak of it.Muth's is a local legend, which has with stood the test of time. I love the sign they have out front- letting people know this is the OG chocolate slinger around town. It was even nice to see on my last visit, seeing a foodie tour coming in and learning about it- I even learned a few things myself.I would say if you have never been, my mom could show you the ropes- as on the last visit it warmed my heart to see her acting like what I presume she would have as a kid- grabbing a carboard box, going behind the counters, and filling up on whatever she pleased. So yes, this place is a little different- you actually do go behind the counters and for the most part, you help yourself. They specialize in chocolate and modjesksas (which you will see are popular in the louisville area)- a caramel and marshmellow treat. However, they do have other candies like gummies and jellies- and even a few third party treats as well. Needless to say, its like a kids dream come true- and a great place for boomers to bring back memories of the "good ol days".Whenever I am in town, I do my best to make a visit here (the hours are on the shorter side so make sure you check them before you pay a visit) and try to stock up on the goods. Even if you don't buy anything, it is always worth a visit if you are in downtown louisville- lots of history here for sure. They do offer online ordering now as well, which comes through in the clutch especially around Easter and St Nicks time. Man, just writing this review makes me want to drive up there in the cold and visit! If you are a local and haven't been, you need to check it out. If you are visiting, you need to check it out- not to be missed!"
"Friendly staff !!! Pleased with the selection of flavors! Always stop here for an ice cream when in town"
"This is the site of Lexington's real life gingerbread house. I've driven by this place hundreds of times. It's been years since I've been inside. While I was on a quest to find local places to buy Valentine's Day candy, I decided to make this my first stop.As I walked in, I was consumed by the aroma of the sugary goodness brewing in the back. Everything lined the walls and Valentine themed candy and boxes were on the tables in the middle. Nothing really tickled my fancy. I did ask about the chocolate covered grapes and the young lady told me that they were in the back. Never offering a sampling or any pricing details. Then I over heard someone checking out and being offered free samples. I guess that you have to purchase to sample. Weird business call if you ask me. I have had their candies before and I don't remember being blown away. This time I left empty handed and headed to Old Kentucky Chocolates, which was only about a mile away. There at Old Kentucky Chocolates, the candy was less expensive and they offered free samples. There at Old Kentucky Chocolates, I didn't leave empty handed."
"What an unexpected win! I'm not sure what I was expecting, but Rebecca-Ruth Candy Tour and Museum far exceeded whatever I had in mind! This family candy-making operation was founded in 1919 and is currently owned and operated by the original founder's grandson. The founder is credited with inventing bourbon ball candy during the prohibition era. We opted for the tour and I am so thankful that we did. The tour is a historical overview of the company and the struggles of a female-owned business during its early years. There are pieces of original equipment on display alongside current operations. Visitors can watch candy being made (weekdays only) and hear about the differences between today's processes and those of the past. At the end of the tour is a very informative (although very sad in many parts) short film, and of course, a delicious sample! I found the tour to be well worth the price of $8. There are so many candy options for sale besides bourbon balls. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic bourbon balls, cherry cordials, truffles, and brittle. There was also Kentucky pull candy, several candies sweetened with a sugar substitute (the salted caramels of this variety were awesome!) and so much more. In addition to their own bourbon balls, the store sells varieties made with bourbon from certain Kentucky distilleries. For those who live in Louisville, this is a wonderful day trip and who doesn't love supporting family-owned businesses and Kentucky bourbon!"
"This shop is the cutest little dessert/candy store! I love the decor inside but most importantly I love the ice cream and treats! They had several gluten free options which made this girl so, so happy! I ended up getting a gluten free brownie sundae and it was delicious! I will certainly be visiting this cute little shop again!"
"After reading some of the reviews, I guess people have wide expectations for what makes a good chocolate. I am not sure if things have changed over the 10 years this independent chocolate shop has been open, but I loved everything I purchased!First, note that all the chocolates are made in the back room. No importing from some large chocolate company is done here. Everything is made in small batches for freshness. I like that too! When I walked in, I was greeted and was able to move around easily in the lobby area outside the display counter of individual chocolates and the wall of packaged chocolates. I can't tell you how many chocolate shops I have had unfriendly staff, so I really appreciated being welcomed here.I noticed some small bags that I picked out. One was a dark chocolate pretzel bag. Another was a milk chocolate covered almond bag. They also carried a bag of mixed nuts (salted) that I grabbed as well.Note: I haven't tried any of their hand dipped individual chocolates yet, but I plan on doing that the next time I visit Madison.I was served right away and was soon on my way enjoying some of my purchases.
