"The environment stresses me out a little bit as it's very narrow, crowded, and dark, but their food is awesome! Definitely a place i enjoy for take-out rather than dining in. I don't think I've had anything I didn't like, and the huge selection of hot sauces is a fun addition to the already excellent food. Service is also consistently quick (how friendly the employees are can be hit or miss, but that doesn't bother me). It's also a unique option when we have visitors who need gluten-free meals."
"We all got something different. I had the spinach salad and corn flake fish fingers, my husband and another had surf and turf, the redfish, redbeans and seafood. It was all fantastic but the service from Denise was outstanding. Best service I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back soon."

"10/13/2024. Visited Brew River for the first time. Service , ambiance, and food were all good. I was a bit disappointed that the cheese spread appetizer came with crackers instead of the 16 Brixx Crostini advertised on the menu, but maybe that's a Cajun thing. This place is a good choice for a nice evening out."
"I was in town on a work trip and a few of my colleagues and I decided to meet up for dinner my last night in Louisville. Fun fact: They have two locations, so just know that before you show up at the wrong one, lol. This restaurant is tucked comfortably in a small shopping strip, has a small patio with outdoor seating, a bar area with televisions, and a dining room area. The restaurant was absolutely freezing the day I visited and that tends to impact my ability to eat. While that wasn't something the staff could help me with, they were super friendly. Our waitress was even kind enough to help me charge up my cell phone battery during my meal. While all of that was solid, the food is what missed the mark for me. They are described as a mix of cajun and American food which was easily evident after reviewing the menu. I got a caesar salad, the crab cake appetizer with a side of vegetables as well as an old fashioned cocktail. My drink was alright, but not my favorite. The crab cakes were pretty good but the vegetables were cold and not seasoned well. My salad was huge with your typical caesar ingredients, but also not my favorite. I give this place a solid three stars because in my opinion it was just ok. But go ahead and visit and see for yourself!"
"Lots to choose from in menu items. Great gumbo and oysters. Good service and friendly staff."
"See previous reviews...Somehow my photos did not post initially. I've been twice & the food is phenomenal. Service could be better, but nothing that would make me not return. All guests that I've treated here, are very pleased with their experiences!!"
"The food was great! It was a group of us that stopped in for lunch. We are all walks of life so it was nice to have vegan options. I had the jackfruit, coleslaw and bag of chip. It was definitely good, and i think we all would definitely come back. They had enough seating to accommodate us, the person taking the orders at the register answered all of our questions and pointed us to some of their favorites as well as popular dishes. Also the food has a kick to it which was great for our group, we were definitely in the right place."
"I was a little worried based on some of the reviews, but decided to give it a try because the friend I was having lunch with wanted to try it. We arrived at 12:30 on a Sunday and the place was empty...more worried....I ordered the gumbo and was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful sausage and tender chicken in a nicely seasoned thick soup served over rice. The buttery toasted bread seemed the same as that served at the Indianapolis chain that bears a similar name. The quality of my gumbo was also similar to that Indianapolis chain. I don't know if maybe Dats went through a rough patch a couple of years ago and that they've now stabilized things? Service was fast, and the mardi gras decor was fun."

Lots of flavor , great pricing ( hard to find nowadays ) when everything is a $15 and up plate. Everything was good except the crawfish tasted fishy. Would prob just get chicken instead next time . Service was great , everyone was friendly . On the salty side, but if you put enough rice with it should be ok. I would suggest get take out and make your own rice at home , bc I'm not used to this type of rice . The texture is off for me, I prefer jasmine or Japanese short grain. This rice taste more like orzo .

This was a lovely little Cajun restaurant just outside of Louisville! Service was good, but the food was even better. I had the shrimp manale, and the chef came and told us the sauce was his grandmothers old recipe. Overall, delicious!

We came here for a reception after my uncle's funeral service. I think we had the whole place booked, or at least most of it.The staff were super kind, and helpful and professional. Drinks and food service were handled so well. We just had a buffet: salad, crackers and pimento cheese, fish and chips, and jambalaya. But man, it was a good buffet. Every single thing was great: thick chunks of tender fish, perfectly fried. Really good seasoned fries. Remoulade and tartar sauce that were clearly house-made and tasty. A nice fresh salad with house-made croutons, and a pimento cheese dip (it may originally have been a ball, but I didn't see it right away.) Cool place, with lots of nooks and crannies, and a couple of big rooms we used, plus the bar area. Decent parking (be careful pulling in and out, it's right on the road.) Good music, which they turned down when our guitar-playing friend started up. A pleasant end to a sad day. A really good way to catch up with family, in a good venue, with good food. Oh, and a good wine and beer selection. Plus mixed drinks etc., but I didn't partake of those sections. I did glance at the regular food menu and saw plenty of things I would have tried.

The food was just ok. The best thing was the key lime and opera creme cake desserts. The service was good, very tentative with making sure we had everything and removed plates.

If there is anything you get when you come here, make sure it's the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. If this was the last thing that I ever ate, I would die a happy woman. I really loved the vibes here and would go back again. I had the jambalaya and it was amazing. My drink was so-so but it was in a fun mug and was bubbling like a witches brew. The service was a bit slow but I was there on a busy Saturday evening so it was fine. Overall I would definitely recommend!

One word, delicious. Service was excellent. It's in a grocery shop/slash pick up order environment but has seating and tables on the next to it. It actually works surprisingly. The food wasn't spicy but flavored. Definitely recommend. Dessert was delicious

"I like seafood here and fresh oysters Good location and cool restaurant We had 8 people, we call the special large one for big groups"
"I was kind of torn between three stars or four but the customer service was the deciding factor as it was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I bought an etouffee stuffed chicken which was good but was basically chicken & rice with shrimp. It's probably my fault for getting an idea in my head before I ate it but I pictured a roux being part of the stuffing and it was not. The andouille sausage was ok, I got some Cajun sausages that I haven't tried yet and the cracklings were pretty good. There are some other things here I would like to try and the boneless chicken is almost worth going back for on its own.Update: In my opinion the Cajun sausages are better than the andouille sausages after trying both of them."
"What a great little gem of a place . I was in town for business and consulted Yelp for a unique , local spot for lunch . I was surprised by how many locals I talked to had never been here , they're missing out . Very fresh seafood , a variety of preparations. The lobster bisque soup was fabulous ."
"Walk-On is the latest restaurant to open in the space previously occupied by Logan's. Walk-On is set up like Logan's was, but they have opened up the design by removing some walls or making them half walls. The overall feel was clean and open. The tables were uneven, which was by design, but it made placing plates and such difficult. They would rock when you ate off of them.I had the Tuscan Chicken, which is a blackened chicken breast over mashed potatoes and covered with tomato salsa. The tomatoes were not a salsa. They were just diced tomatoes. I'm usually not a fan of tomatoes, but they added a needed sweetness and acidity. Overall, a tasty dish I would get again. The green beans were not to my liking, mostly because they were cold. I added a side of red beans and rice. I found them to be full of flavor. I know others on here haven't. They have a bit of a spiciness to them, too, but it's not overwhelming. If you like Popeye's red beans and rice, this is better.Ragin' Redfish was also ordered at my table and enjoyed. The mango salsa was the highlight to this dish. There are a lot of other dishes that I want to try, so I'll be back.Hopefully I will have a better waiter my next visit. We were mostly ignored after our order was taken. The order was brought out by others. We did get the bill almost immediately after getting our food. And then nothing. No refills. No checking in to see if we wanted anything. If we were there near closing time, I could see the check arriving before a bite of food was eaten and no refills given, but we were there after the regular rush time but well before closing. The waiters either wear shorts or short skirts, to fit with the sports theme. I believe no leg protection can be dangerous. There is a section for Pop-a-Shot basketball and a rifle shooting game. No one was playing with them during our visit. Plenty of TVs for sports viewing."
"The food was amazing. It was our first time there and there was no wait for a table. The waiter Brandon was amazing. He answered all of our questions and made some amazing suggestions. The portions was great and the complimentary garlic cheese bread was delicious! The scenery and music was a whole vibe! Their DJ or playlist was perfect and I cannot wait to come back with my family and try more of this place!"
"Great good great service. Cozy, casual romantic American fare. Food was well seasoned and came out quick. We had a seasonal flatbread, I had a couple $5 margs for their Thursday bar special (they were perfect), he had a burger with everything and I had the pan roasted chicken sub mashed potatoes instead of rice. Delicious!"
"Great food, don't sleep on this great place right in our backyard! Waited a bit, but it was more than worth it. Fried fish had flavor with a perfect crisp. My wife really enjoyed the jack daniels wings."
"I'm not too big of a fan of seafood, but my wife is definitely a seafood LOVER. We always order the Combo D which is crab and shrimp with potatoes and corn. It smells and looks outstanding. We will continue to go weekly. Definitely recommend"
"Ok, this place was yummy super busy! The flavors was perfect! The only set back, the waitress/order taker are too busy and will forget to bring your order, my soda had grease floating. The oyster was yum steamed and fried. Be careful when getting them raw. The waitress mentioned they are previously frozen oysters. The blue crab wasn't fresh, no meat. But it had yummy eggs in it tho. I will def give it another try. The flavor the delicious"
"This is a great seafood option in the area. They have options of what level Cajun spice or no spice like garlic butter or lemon. We got the snow crab and shrimp boil. It comes with a red potato and small corn on the cob. It's pretty messy but they give you a bib and gloves. Plus a wipe for after you meal. A small bucket to place you crab shells and shrimp shells in. They also have options of Po boy sandwiches and fried fish and other fried food options. Smaller dine in area. Staff of following Covid protocols. If you are wanting some seafood but not wanting to fried stuff at captain D's or Long John Silvers. This is a much better and tastier option. They give you some crab crackers for your crab legs but some of those little crab forks or crab cracking hook would be helpful. A good plus at this location is Greaters is next door for dessert."
"Good portions, great flavor. My only complaint is that they didn't have sodas the day we came in. But, understood what their reasoning was and will DEFINATELY go back."
"Came here 5 days after they opened the new location in Evansville. Excellent flavor, value and service. Highly recommend."
