"Taste of Belgium has a couple locations, but I can only speak for this one as I was only in town for a weekend for a wedding. First - parking is plenty as it's located in a shopping plaza. You might have to walk a bit, but certainly not hard to find a spot. Second - even on a Saturday at 11am, it didn't take us (a party of 5) more than 10 minutes to get seated. The place is lively, but not overcrowded, and the staff was both friendly and attentive. Onto the most important part: the food! You can't go to a place with Belgium in the name and not order Belgian waffles. The waffles are pretty small in size, they aren't American-sized for sure. We had the Strawberries and Cream waffle (with additional Nutella), Goetta Hash, Breakfast Plate, Omelette, and Chicken and Waffle. All was delicious! Things to point out: the sweet waffle was about palm-sized, and 70% whip-cream with a light drizzle of whip cream and thin layer of strawberries, haha. I was fine with it because I love cream, but your mileage may vary. For the chicken and waffle, this is their most popular dish and I understand why. I do recommend having the sauces on the side so you can portion as you like - I found the hot sauce much more overpowering than the syrup. Overall, a great brunch spot!"

"4 stars.Service here was amazing!! Jessica took great care of us during our visit.We arrived too late for brunch - the cutoff is 1:45. So, we ate off the "transition menu" which is an abbreviated menu that allows them to flip over to the dinner menu.We enjoyed the truffle fries. The brisket sandwich was fantastic. The fried chicken was tasty, too. As for the sides... The grits were very savory. The braised kale was surprisingly good. It's almost like collard greens, but with the texture of turnips - very soft. The Mac n cheese was mushy and lacked flavor - I wouldn't order that again. It's a small spot, so I would call ahead to check the wait. There are only a few tables... and then there are even less when the buffet is out.There's a bar in the other side, but we didn't check it out. Maybe next time!"

"Didn't know what to expect. I call it eclectic Mexican. Tacos galore along with burritos and quesadillas. They are not traditional. They have many twists in them. Lots of sauces and creams. You can even get a burger here. Great specials each night food and drinks. Free arcade games in the back, but didn't have time to play."

I am a big fan of a pizza crust done right, and Coals crust always hits the mark. They're always perfectly cooked, service is great, and there's a variety of excellent pizza options whether you're a classic pepperoni toppings kind of person or feeling slightly adventurous. We came here for pizza week and I'm so glad we did, because it reminded me I need to come here more! I got the St Matthews pizza - SO good!! Also, my friend is celiac and they have gluten free crust options, which is MEGA bonus points in my book! Not enough restaurants are prepared to accommodate for celiac disease, so we love to see the inclusive menu options!"

"Stopped in to give it a try and didn't expect such a crowd! Many folks were there because it was a Bengals night! We had a short wait, but the staff was friendly. There were two of us dining. I got the chicken tenders with onion straws, and the other person got the buffalo chicken wrap and tater tots. We both ordered unsweetened iced tea. I wasn't a fan of the tea, so I exchanged it for a half sweet half suit. That was really good. We ordered the brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were absolutely fantastic! Our meals came and my onion straws were cold and not very tasty so I swapped those for tater tots, which were delicious. My chicken tenders were also really good. My friend really enjoyed the wrap and tater tots as well. The service was a little on the slower side but again they were super busy.I will definitely be back since my experience was overall positive. The brussels sprouts are well worth it and I look forward to trying other menu items. Sidenote: it is family friendly, and good for small to larger groups."

The eggs were good but not a hit out of the ballpark. If you love pimento cheese - get the fried green tomatoes. The s'mores dessert was just ok. I think it would have been great with a quality Graham cracker. These were the off-off brand lol and not good. Definitely would eat here again."

I come on Wednesday nights regularly for trivia and always have a good time. The food is good (tots are amazing) and drinks are inexpensive. I love the black pearl cocktail. Seating is plentiful inside and outside. They have a beautiful patio as well as outdoor area with turf, a fire pit, and TVs. If you're in the Hyde park or oakley area, highly recommend checking this place out! When you come, make sure to ask for Maddie as your server! She is amazing!"

Nothing against that brand but a proper Mexican joint should have housemade product. Chips were great though. I tried the carnitas torta and I enjoyed it. Bread was crisp outside & fresh inside, meat was flavorful but not as spicy as I'd hoped. The portion should be larger than what they provide for an $11 sandwich. But these days, I'm happy when the service is good & the food is edible. I'll come back here. Good joint."

"I'm not joking when I say this is the best burger in the city. They are always SO juicy but not sloppy. They season them very well and the toppings/bun are premium and fresh. Cooked to medium every time. Highly recommend the All American and the Grippos burger!They have sweet potato waffle fries and "crunchy coating" type fries that are always fresh and very crispy. They also season these very well with salt.There is an extensive liquor and beer selection and their cocktail menu is pretty good! On top of it all, the service is fantastic and I like the atmosphere! A little bit of an interesting choice with the slight country theme mixed with upscale, but it oddly works. Overall give this restaurant a 9.5/10 and it's a must try if you're downtown for a show or game!"

We opted for a couple of appetizers- spring rolls and bang bang shrimp. Both were commercially purchased. They were good but we could tell they were not made in house.I chose a sushi roll which they were willing to customize for me. My mother ordered steak and scallop hibachi entree. The hibachi entree was plentiful with a lovely presentation and very flavorful. My sushi roll was a disappointment. I've had some pretty amazing sushi and this fell near the bottom for quality. The wasabi was watered down, the cream cheese in my sushi roll also seemed watered down. The crunch coating was not crumbly as most crunch is - it was a thin pressed on coating. The eel sauce was watered down and very light brown in color.Recommendation: go for the hibachi but research for a better sushi place."

"Super cool newer spot in downtown Louisville. Eclectic, fun and funky interior decor in a brick building that must be a good 150 years old or more. The guy at the register was outgoing and personable, taking good care of everyone coming in, even during an influx of visitors in town for PGA. He was cool, collected and even handed out a few free beer samples for those waiting.I ordered a sandwich which was a PBR braised roast beef with peppers & onions and provolone. No joke I'm still thinking about it 3 days later, it was that good. My wife had the Spam Risk sandwich which was griddled Spam, a fried egg, cheese and bourbon bacon jam. Her new favorite. Honestly, we're local and rarely come downtown as a destination, but this spot was excellent and worth the return trip. Not to mention we're also newly converted fans of their speakeasy downstairs - The Hereafter. Couldn't be happier, for real."
