"We found this place on a random Tuesday night in December of last year and have been coming back ever since. The owners Kenny and Denise are so down to earth and greet us by name every time we come in. Megan is always bartending and has the best recommendations. We feel like family when we come in for a visit. They have a great selection of draft beers from local breweries including Gallant Fox and West 6th. The flights come in a set of 4 on a cute train track stand to fit the theme of the establishment name. They also have two frozen drinks, a wine slushee and a bourbon slushee. Both are amazing. They also serve food and snacks such as pulled pork sandwiches with chips, nachos, pretzel bites with cheese dipping sauce, and charcuterie boards. Every week they do trivia on Tuesdays and Singo (Bingo with songs) on Wednesdays. I've since moved away from the area and will greatly miss this place. It is one of my favorite places to go out for a casual drink. Please stop by and check this place out - I guarantee you'll have a great time!"

"I really enjoyed this place! Lots of drink and food options for patrons of all ages. Games available. Tons of space. We were there on a Thursday night and there was live music out on the patio. Several different beers on tap. We had a few flights to try all the different ones. They have a juicy IPA that was my favorite.The pizza flavors are very different! We tried the doritos taco pizza (6/10), the garlic honey chicken pizza (8/10), and the mac and cheese sausage pizza (8/10). We enjoyed all of the pizzas we tried. Its nice that you can just get personal sizes and try a few. The waitress was telling us that the Sweet Piggy is one of their best sellers. We will have to try that when we go back. The people were all very nice. The space is an old feed facility. It is very cool. This is a perfect place to come after a long day of hiking at Clifty Falls!"

"After visiting 3 times in less than two weeks, I wanted to share photos of the delicious food at Mellotone Brewing Project, formerly Taft's Ale House. We're always thrilled to see new life spring up in a shuttered restaurant. But especially in an historic venue. All the menu items are unique but the appetizers are my favorite. There is enough to share and the variety is interesting. The atmosphere is refreshed with a sleek modern look on the first floor. Upstairs, there is ample seating with plank tables and benches. The service is good. Our server Ellie was awesome!"

I am a big fan of a pizza crust done right, and Coals crust always hits the mark. They're always perfectly cooked, service is great, and there's a variety of excellent pizza options whether you're a classic pepperoni toppings kind of person or feeling slightly adventurous. We came here for pizza week and I'm so glad we did, because it reminded me I need to come here more! I got the St Matthews pizza - SO good!! Also, my friend is celiac and they have gluten free crust options, which is MEGA bonus points in my book! Not enough restaurants are prepared to accommodate for celiac disease, so we love to see the inclusive menu options!"

"I'm not joking when I say this is the best burger in the city. They are always SO juicy but not sloppy. They season them very well and the toppings/bun are premium and fresh. Cooked to medium every time. Highly recommend the All American and the Grippos burger!They have sweet potato waffle fries and "crunchy coating" type fries that are always fresh and very crispy. They also season these very well with salt.There is an extensive liquor and beer selection and their cocktail menu is pretty good! On top of it all, the service is fantastic and I like the atmosphere! A little bit of an interesting choice with the slight country theme mixed with upscale, but it oddly works. Overall give this restaurant a 9.5/10 and it's a must try if you're downtown for a show or game!"

Maybe because I had recently had an amazing fish and chips elsewhere, but the breading seemed a bit too crispy and wasn't a fan of the tartar sauce at all. I asked for sweet potato fries and they were actually amazing--perfectly hot, crisp, and fresh! They were a $4 upcharge though, which is fine until I consider that meant the standard $14 I paid for the dish, was actually just for a couple pieces of fish (my bill was $18). I wouldn't be opposed to trying something else if it's suggested to me again, but I wouldn't go out of my way or choose it for myself."

"am giving you my 9.5 year review...you read that right, I've been going here for roughly 9 years. Overall it's kinda gone down hill. Pre-covid it has THE BEST food and atmosphere. The inside was somewhat dark but had a lot of character and avoided the cookie cutter "upscale beer and food" look. They had a chef that made ridiculously good vegetarian AND burgers. This chef ended up moving to Chicago per the waitstaff. I asked because a few months after their departure you could see it and taste it in the menu so I knew something changed. Their peak was 2014-2019 for overall creativity and menu execution; meaning not only did the menu read amazingly but the execution on the menu was perfect. Flavor and texture didn't hint to being overcooked or over seasoned.Covid came and went and now the inside is light mauve with an over indexed "holy" look. The music is ....not sure, random aged pop? Food is disappointing. It's not bad by any means but it's not as good as it could be. Pasta dishes are overcooked, drenched in oil often, and too salty. Flavor comes from the food not kosher salt solely. We don't go here often especially after our last visit a few months ago but I hope their cooks and chefs continue to improve with experience.If you're a newcomer you might not notice and that's fine because blindfolded, it's not that bad. But if you knew you know, it's not anywhere close to where it used to be."

Asked for burger medium rare got it medium well. So that's why 1 star off. The fried green tomatoes app is super yummy and I recommend that over the deviled eggs. The eggs were good but not a hit out of the ballpark. If you love pimento cheese - get the fried green tomatoes. The s'mores dessert was just ok. I think it would have been great with a quality Graham cracker. These were the off-off brand lol and not good. Definitely would eat here again."

The guy at the register was outgoing and personable, taking good care of everyone coming in, even during an influx of visitors in town for PGA. He was cool, collected and even handed out a few free beer samples for those waiting.I ordered a sandwich which was a PBR braised roast beef with peppers & onions and provolone. No joke I'm still thinking about it 3 days later, it was that good. My wife had the Spam Risk sandwich which was griddled Spam, a fried egg, cheese and bourbon bacon jam. Her new favorite. Honestly, we're local and rarely come downtown as a destination, but this spot was excellent and worth the return trip. Not to mention we're also newly converted fans of their speakeasy downstairs - The Hereafter. Couldn't be happier, for real."

"The Establishment is one of my favorite places in the city for a casual drink or trivia. The staff is always polite and attentive (huge shout out to our girl Maddie!!) I come on Wednesday nights regularly for trivia and always have a good time. The food is good (tots are amazing) and drinks are inexpensive. I love the black pearl cocktail. Seating is plentiful inside and outside. They have a beautiful patio as well as outdoor area with turf, a fire pit, and TVs. If you're in the Hyde park or oakley area, highly recommend checking this place out! When you come, make sure to ask for Maddie as your server! She is amazing!"

Within a minute, I had a bowl of warm, crispy chips and salsa in front of me. Only negative was the 'vanilla' salsa. It's likely Pace Picante. Nothing against that brand but a proper Mexican joint should have housemade product. Chips were great though. I tried the carnitas torta and I enjoyed it. Bread was crisp outside & fresh inside, meat was flavorful but not as spicy as I'd hoped. The portion should be larger than what they provide for an $11 sandwich. But these days, I'm happy when the service is good & the food is edible. I'll come back here. Good joint."

The pours were perfection! I tired the Lavender Pitch Watermelon Wheat-delicious crips perfect for summer, the Garage Beer Lime- the splash of lime gives this lager a refreshing smooth finish & paired great with the sour. The Watermelon crack- definitely not sweet but not sour enough either to turn up your nose just a smack to keep you guessing. The Barrel aged sticky toffee pudding- too sweet/much for me.. I probably needed a palate cleanser in between the beers. The Shop was a great spot of us to chill & stop at on our way to dinner. 10/10 recommend if you're into craft beer & low key vibes. Even if you're into cocktails & wine they got you covered. Just a chill place."

The perfectly butter-toasted, soft, warm hoagie bun combined with the mayo, cheese, onion and steak was like taking a trip through time back to when you can remember a childhood memory waking up to the news of an unexpected snow day. The layers of flavor unfolding, I truly do not think I've had a sandwich worthy. The crispy on the outside and soft potato on the inside potato sticks, are NOT "fry's," okay.. not over salted, undercooked, sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, McDonalds fry's.. these hand crafted, perfectly fried potato pieces are easily one of my favorite potato side. The Ranch and Creole Honey Mustard Sauces were great for dipping. I'd recommend ANYONE, to add this spot to your monthly stop."

"Louisville has so many new and fabulous Breweries! We decided we are starting a Friday brew pub crawl. This past Friday one on the list was Gallant Fox! Happy to say it really was my favorite. The beautiful thing is they have a full bar. If you are heading to a bar and one of your friends isn't a beer drinker, low and behold, plenty of fabulous bourbons to be found here! Our bartender was fabulous. Great little crowd of people. Even dog friendly! One dog she was excellent and I would 10/10 dog sit for her! They recommended mixing also! That's right, mixing some of the tap beers. I had a nice Sir Galahad stout! I love the stouts and porters in the fall and winter. It was really delicious! I tried the jelly of the month, the blueberry mixed with the Nutty by nature! What a fabulous combo! Peanut butter and jelly in a glass! The bar is nice, quick service. Clean bathrooms. I would totally come back to enjoy some more combos! The beers were delicious!"
