"This place is quite cute. It is a house. Once you enter it, you pick your own seat. I prefer go up because of the natural light. The waiter and waitress are nice and warming. The menu looks great. I have been here twice and always love their burnt end and the old fashioned too.My family love it there too. We all agreed that the mac and cheese was the best thing but we do enjoy the smoked meats too. This is the place we would come back for more."
"We were looking for some BBQ on our road trip home and we decided to stop here- such a great decision! Food was excellent! I had the pulled pork with mac and cheese- both delicious. Multiple BBQ sauces to try - I liked the sweet BBQ and the Kentucky reserve. Staff was nice and the food was ready quick. The interior has graffiti on the walls from previous patrons which really gives that BBQ establishment feel. Good amount of parking If you are looking g for a local small business BBQ place- give this one a try! Will definitely be back next time I'm in town!"

"Got takeout last night. Burnt ends with cornbread and green beans. I lived in Kansas City for awhile, but those burnt ends were better here than any I had in KC. Wow! That smokey flavor. The cornbread was sweet and delicious. The Green beans were so, so--a bit watery. The spicy BBQ sauce was excellent, but I avoided putting it on the burnt ends because I didn't want it to obscure the gloriousness of the meat. My order was up in less than 5 minutes, which was a blessing since I was going in hungry."
"Great food great service great view. Enjoyed my dinner here and to see all the memorabilia from rowing to football to boxing to car racing and baseball. A must go to when visiting Cincinnati . Don't miss out on the graters ice cream too. Nothing you have ever tasted. Parking is easy!! Make reservations. Trust!"
"Amazing food and staff. I tried all the meat. I really liked the pork butt and the ribs. The spicy sauce was the best for me and I loved the greens. Not the best place if you want a salad because I don't think there is one on the menu. You go here because of who the owner is and the atmosphere. The food is solid and made by people who know meat. It is a little more commercial on how they make it but hey it's good."
"I popped in here to grab a meal to go. The hot chicken tenders were HUGE! They tasted great. I got Medium spice but it still had a nice subtle heat. I enjoyed the potato salad. The Mac and cheese was pretty dry and room temperature, which is what kept me from giving it 5 stars. The seating area is super limited, so I'm sure most people get their food to go. They seem to run a lot of catering options too.Overall: Great quick, hearty meal."
"The food... yum! Petite steak, chicken salad a delicious with vodka & lemonade. I would definitely come back when we're back in this area!"
"Service was fantastic... And usually is as this wasn't my first visit, but I am definitely not a regular. The ambience is good in the sense that it's what you expect an excellent barbecue joint to be. The brisket sandwich was delicious in flavor and the texture of the meat was outstanding, the bun was a perfect compliment and their barbecue sauce consistently good as far as recollection serves me... The hillbilly wontons were a little disappointing, but not because of the flavor, but because of the steam causing the wonton to be less crunchy than I would have hoped, however, being a foodie... The realization hits that it would be very hard to make a wonton with that much going on inside of it not steam from the inside... So we will base the flavor as being what is rated and it was delicious, but I will likely not order again because of the technical difficulty in steaming a brisket stuffed wonton. I would say keep up the good work, but being a staple in the community...I am certain it goes without saying!"
"There are lots of hustles and bustle going on here. There wasn't waiting to be seated. This place has a handful of rooms they can plop you down in. Great for large groups(we even had his service dog). Service was efficient and pleasant. Food was hot, stocked, and ready for the choosing at the buffet. The cost doesn't break the bank either. Where do I start? The blue cheese dressing g was pungent and filled with creamy chunks of blue cheese....yummy! Make sure you try oompah potato salad( homemade stuff always gets me)Left this place thick as a tick. Please just roll me into my car. Thank you"
"Some of the best BBQ we've had!Hole in the wall shack... smell that smoke! We had the brisket plate, with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. I'm typing as I eat. Brisket is super tender and awesome! Back to eating"
"My recent experience of having brunch with a friend here was one of the very best. I've been several times over the years and always had delicious food but the latest was way above expectations. I was hesitant to get the brisket pho for brunch at first but wow was I happy with my choice. This dish was expertly created with their fall-apart melt in your mouth brisket, a fried egg and a toasted bagel to top it off. Some of the typical pho toppings like bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalapeños, made this dish taste quite familiar, yet having this brunch version was interesting. I love the take on one of my favorite Asian dishes and had never seen it brunchetized before. I would highly recommend to any pho lovers who are open to a unique take on this Vietnamese cuisine to give this a try."
"Best barbecue restaurant I have been to in awhile. The name threw me off but the reviews were goos so I said what the heck. I had the combo plate which had a little bit if everything. All the meats were so tender and flavorful, you really didn't need to sauce it much. The chicken wings were phenomenal! Nice crusty batter and juicy meat with finger licking sauce that tastes similar to thai sweet chili sauce. Our server Brooke was so sweet and very helpful in explaining the menu. She told her manager it was our first time there and we were visiting. The manager came over and welcomed us and gave us complimentary goodies. The ultimate warm hospitality. This place should be packed every night. We will definitely stop in again the next time we come through this town."

Momma's was a nice place to get some barbecue. I got the burnt ends with mac and cheese and cheezy corn.I had heard a lot about Momma's and how great it was, but to be honest it didn't seem like anything special to me. The burnt ends were good, but a little salty for my liking. The mac and cheese and cheezy corn were good as well, but nothing seemed particularly outstanding. Still it was good food. The environment was nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was a cozy place that I enjoyed.I had heard great things about Momma's BBQ, but honestly it was just a decent barbecue joint for me. Good food, nothing crazy.

I would normally give this place 5 stars, but this time we went later in the day and it seemed like the staff and kitchen had basically checked out. Our meals were kind of thrown together, they forgot to put the coleslaw on the pulled pork sandwich, the mac and cheese was cold, the brisket was fatty, cold and tough. Everyone has off days, but I was kind of disappointed this time.

Should I have eaten all this home-cooked goodness for lunch and expected to go back to work and be productive? Maybe not. Do I have regrets? Zero. This is GOOD EATS. The server was friendly and attentive, even during a lunch rush. The meatloaf was good, and because I know she can feel me writing this review, let met just say--my mom's is still the best. It's 2025, and I hope we are all finally on the same page: a proper ketchup glaze in all it's glory is a must, and MMPB nailed it. For me, the real stars were the sides. Creamy mac & cheese and slow-cooked green beans were delish, but roll out the red carpet because the creamed-corn ATE. It was rich and flavorful without masking the corn itself, which is exactly what you want in a vegetable side. The portions and price equation 'mathed' just right in my head. And on a second visit to Hurstbourne (my personal favorite location), I had a frozen cocktail that tasted like a nod to a Painkiller--aka one of my all-time favorite drinks. That, plus the same exact re-order I had for lunch?? A time was HAD.

Hands down the best ribs I have ever eaten. I usually avoid ribs because they are high fat and high calorie and whatnot, but these were so famous I had to try.WOW - so soft and actually falling off the bone. They didn't even seem very fatty at all. My husband absolutely loves! That has had quite a lot of them and he said these were the best he has ever had as well. That barbecue sauce was also so unique and flavorful so I totally see why this place is known for its barbecue ribs! He ordered the 2-items combo item where we got the grilled chicken, ribs, side of broccoli, sweet potato.I absolutely love how the broccoli was steamed and not fried or roasted with oil or anything like that. It was so perfectly soft and tender and yummy. Sweet potato side dish was also delicious. Perfectly soft and creamy and it gave it that delicious honey butter on the side which was unbelievable. I thought the dessert husband really wanted to try that Chocolate Volcano Cake and WOW. It was hard to pick one item on the dessert menu because everything seems so delicious but really glad we went with this. The chocolate cake was half and warm and gooey and to yummy and went perfectly well the ice cream on the side. They actually served ice cream from Graeter's which we were very grateful for. Apparently they usually only give the vanilla, but the server knew we were visiting and celebrating our anniversary so he added an extra scoop of the special Midnight Snack. What a beautiful dessert!

Brisket was tender, flavorful, and plentiful. I paired it with the mac n cheese which was good and the street corn which was just a little over the top for me with too many flavors. The bartender made us great old fashioneds. We had great banter with the guys in the kitchen, and the bartender. I know the celebrity chef thing is a little tiresome for folks, but this was a really good meal and better than most in terms if service. Well done.

Never had anything bad from here. The location is small but has picnic tables outside and no inside seating. Staff are always friendly. I've personally had the pulled chicken sandwich and smoked wings and I can hands down say the smoked wings are high on my favorites list. As for the other items I've not had I have had a ton of friends say the hot chicken is really good and it's not super spicy but does have a kick.

Good food. The atmosphere is like a really nice rustic cabin. The service has usually been great. The food is consistently good, but nothing that really makes it stand out. Good place for a good solid steak.

"Incredible BBq, one of the best I've had. I had brisket and turkey and they were both some of the best I've had. Slaw was on point and the single bbq sauce was just rite. Good job Harmon's!"
"We were there on 05/25/24. They have a small area where you could have a private dinner for maybe 10 or so. The rest of the place is filled with booths and tables with a long bar in the back. Rustic decor and fun signs. We all thought the light up "occupied" signs outside the single stall restrooms were fun.Our party of four was happy with our drinks and meals. The drinks were delicious. We had the Peanut Butter Old Fashioned, the Bourbon Peach Tea, the Manhattan, and a shot/beer combo. We were all pleased with the drinks. I also have to say that their prices for drinks were really good. Maybe because it is a college town. The cocktails were $7-$9. That is way cheaper than our area. We ordered the Stadium Burger, Brisket Tacos, and two trays. One tray was brisket, ribs, fries, and cole slaw. The other was brisket, pulled pork, fries, and loaded mashed potatoes. The server brought us trays with small cups of each of the sauces they had. This was a nice touch and allowed us to compare them. I prefer bbq that has a rub and I can use my own sauce, so I was happy with my food. The fries were crispy and sprinkled with their rub. Our server was attentive and pleasant. We would definitely go back. In fact, I wish they weren't four hours away so I could go more often."
"This is the place to try Owensboro style BBQ. I wouldn't necessarily say KY style, as I've yet to find another joint outside Owensboro that cooks up mutton as a staple option. Maybe it's a western KY thing, but passing though Louisville, mutton was nowhere to be found.Anyway here at Old Hickory you can find it sliced, chopped, as ribs, in a stew (burgoo) as well as the typical brisket, chicken and pork options.but owensboro style is all about the mutton, and for me, that's the chopped mutton on the white bun. Vinegary and delicious, mutton's a different bbq ball-game. the sheep oil or lanolin, adds a unique flavor that can seem strong to the uninitiated. However, I find that if you go for the experience, you will easily acclimate. The cornbread was more of a cornmeal pancake, not the typical yellow cake-looking type. The baked beans are good, but very sweet. Same with the coleslaw. The green beans are heavily cooked, so are very soft and on the darker side. I think it's a regional preparation. The catfish was nice, more crust than fish, and wasn't really served with anything like a tartar sauce or remoulade.Good for groups, friendly service and top notch bbq, make this casual eatery our regular stop every time we're in town. Come with an appetite, but I recommend fibering up before hand.I also recommend eating there (unless you're a regular). Delivered BBQ just seems different, even though it should be the same."
"Bootleg bbq is a long-standing fern creek staple located off old Bardstown road in Lousiville Kentucky a mile or so before hitting the Mount Washington city line. For years this was just a small shack with limited to no seating but over the last five years or so they did a complete remodel that features spacious seating, old school 50s and 60s style country decor and a very home feeling vibe to it. Service on my trips here are always pretty good. You order at the counter when walking in at the dine in portion and seat yourself. The opposite side of the counter which has a separate entrance is for carry out. In our history they have always gotten our food out fast, accurately and fresh. My personal go to meal is a pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. I've gotten other sides in the past like max and cheese and there double tater (mashed potatoes with cheese on top) and you can't go wrong. The baked beans is my favorite though and some of my favorite in the city. The sandwich has a good taste and the bbq sauce is very tasty. My wife is a big fan of the pork and loves getting the burgoo side. Kids usually stick to the kids menu and usually finish there plates. So complaints on there end. Overall a nice hole in the wall establishment just a little bit off the beaten path of busy bardstown road that has above average bbq, good service and a good atmosphere."
"My oh my! Local? Passing by? A spot that your must try! Located 1 mile from 75, a perfect break from a drive north back from Florida. Plenty of space inside or or out ti eat. Awesome barbeque options... seems the pulled pork is what they are famous for. Group had a few options to try... pulled pork, chicken, burger, wings... all good. Great sauce. We went with the corn nuggets and pickle chips to start- and will do so again when we are passing through on the way to Florida next year. Quite the crowd for a Sunday afternoon, and some of the tables around had the salad... looked great. Came in with a party of 7. Plenty of space to sit down, waitress was friendly and helpful."
"Great ambiance. Outdoor near the river. Lots of different seating areas. If it's hot try to get to the right under the tree. Food was good, nothing amazing but really good. I had the crab legs and they were really good and for the price you got a lot! Heaps of butter prepare to get splashed. lol. The bands are different nightly but we weren't very impressed with the man and woman duo they were so quiet that we kept asking if they could turn it up. I would recommend this spot for a relaxed dining experience."
"I had dinner here on Saturday evening before seeing a play with my daughter-in-law. It wasn't super busy when we arrived and we were seated quickly. We ordered cocktails - the Prohibition Manhattan - and it was perfect! The food was ok. Nothing great but we picked this place because of its proximity to the Playhouse. I had the Cheeseburger and my daughter-in-law had the Chicken Sandwich. The service was friendly and quick. The parking around this place is a nightmare, though. We drove around the blocks several times and it's difficult to find any street parking. We finally found a garage nearby for $5 - so, if you're eating dinner before a play you'd want to factor in the extra time to find parking."
"Came here for lunch today and had a great experience. My toddler was with me and everyone was kind and patient with us. I got the half club sandwich which was awesome! I also got a cup of burgoo which had just the right amount of kick. My son had a grilled cheese and fries. The fries were well seasoned and I would definitely get more for myself next time I come by!Also, ordered smoked wings to go for my husband and he was really impressed. They were delicious!"
"Run, don't walk to Back Deck BBQ to get some of the best, consistently high quality barbecue that this city has to offer. I first learned about Back Deck BBQ on a social media foodies group. I'm always eager to support a black owned business, so we went during the busy Derby weekend and were absolutely blown away. We've since visited several more times, taking multiple family members there, and each group loved it as well. The staff is super friendly and personable. The food is superb. Our favorites include the ribs, smoked sausage, and Mac and Cheese, though we've yet to try anything we didn't like. We always top it off with Lady J's lemonade (Blue Raspberry and Pink are our go-tos).We've never had an issue getting in and getting a seat, but seating is limited. There are several long picnic tables inside and some seating outside, so keep that in mind if you have a larger party."
"Wow. This place has good bbq! Not to mention great sides. I smoke my own meat and make my own pulled pork so I'm very picky. Their pulled pork was just okay but my husband really enjoyed.I had the burnt end sandwich and it was a 5 out of 5. I just did not expect it to come saucy but very good. We called at 11:30 AM on a Saturday and they were already sold out of brisket. We arrived about 12 noon and had to wait a good 15 minutes just to order. This place is busy! And for good reason. My favorite part might be the smoked barbecue beans and spicy coleslaw. Will be back a lot!"
"Straight From Texas had really good BBQ. I got carry out and the lady that checked me out was very nice. I ordered the combo with brisket, ribs, pork, and turkey. When she took the lid off of the pork I saw smoked bologna under the same lid and immediately changed my order. I told her to forget the turkey and I would substitute the smoked bologna for that. I had the macaroni & cheese (very good) and the chuck wagon beans (mid) as my sides. They let you pick your sauce and give you the option of onions, pickles and jalapeño. I got some of the sweet and some of the spicy sauce with jalapeño and pickles. My son did the same except he got onions too and instead of the beans he got the tater salad, which he really liked. When I got back to his place with the food I found out she substituted my ribs for the bologna (only reason for no fifth star) but the food was so good it didn't bother me as much as it would have otherwise. The portion sizes were also good and if you enjoy bbq I definitely recommend."
"What a hidden gem. I have always driven past this restaurant but will no longer. Great atmosphere, excellent food and fantastic service. You can order from the kitchen, or order for the grill and cook your own. So many options and an excellent experience!"
"Great food, and dining atmosphere. The ribs were to die for. Service was fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend highly."
"Great bbq for Kentucky. Glad it's available and would recommend. Not much more I can add."
"Went in for lunch today, very cool spot. The club sandwich had the thickest slices of turkey and ham I have ever seen. The baked Mac and cheese with hot chicken was another excellent meal! Service was fast and friendly, we'll definitely be back when we are in the area next."
"This place was good.It was after our hike nearby and we all had a craving for korean food and yes it did hit the spot Being Korean I have pretty high standards for Korean food. It is authentic and has a great taste. For one of my friends it was her first time trying Korean food and she really enjoyed it along with a green grape juice with chunks in them that was definitely part of my childhood We got the bibimbap, seafood soft tofu soup & stir fry squid (which I love). All of the dishes were good which is why I'm not surprised they have 2 locations! I might not come back to this location unless I'm camping out here again as I live over an hour away but I will probably go back to their other location which is closer to home"
"This was probably the best food I've had in my entire life. I ordered Brisket on a bun with onion straws and coleslaw and it all was superb. The brisket just melted in your mouth and was so flavorful it didn't need anything else! Our server was kind and helpful. It's a nice place. Definitely recommend!"
"Great friendly service and consistently delicious perfect Barbecue every time I go !When I have given other bbq joints a try, I ended up wanting half my money back! Big BEN's is the only place I trust from now on!"
"If you visit Louisville and don't check out Jucy's you are a fool. This out of the way BBQ spot is the best in the area! The pulled pork, potato salad and cornbread were by far the best I have had outside of Texas. If I could give this place 10 stars I would."
"First of all a high-five to Spencer, the most energetic, friendly and efficient waiter we have encountered in a long time! This restaurant's sign caught our eye and we thought...why not?Housed in a former Denny's or Shoney's means it is roomy...but some of the seats show their age.The BBQ was nothing extraordinary but definitely tasty. The mac & cheese needs some work as the pasta was mushy. Choice of two sauces (1 sweet and 1 hot )I would return if in the area again."
"Have always enjoyed drive through carryout. I love most of their sides! Meat and sauces always tasty and fresh! Good value."
"Had WDRB certificate and wanted to try this place out. We got 20 wings. 10 with Rudder Hot (great spice!) and 10 BBQ sauce. Also got the family meal that had smoked pulled chicken, pulled pork, brisket, two baked potatoes and a slab of ribs. Every item was well smoked. So tender. Also got the brisket quesadilla. The bourbon BBQ sauce is excellent and a little spicy. They give you slices of bread but I wish they would serve buns with the family meal. They did forgetthe butter and sour cream. With the coupon the bill came to $77. Rounded up to $100 for the tip. Got everything to-go but I still leave a nice tip. Worth going! Great smoked food."
"The absolute best BBQ I've ever had! The pork is really tender. The fries are homemade fresh as ordered. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Plenty of parking for a downtown business. I will be back soon for sure."
