Cindy G. "Pelle's...oh Pelle's! We stopped by this unassuming dive bar almost as a joke after hitting up the Silver Grove Dairy Bar. It's dark exterior with no windows and creepy bud light signs flickering in the distance drew us in. Once inside you are greeted with a cloud of smoke and a raspy voiced bartender. "We got bud, miller, coors" she says, "all two bucks." We grabbed a brew, headed to one of the plastic covered bingo-hall type table tops and began admiring this incredible decor. From fo-exposed brick painted on the wall to pictures of athletes from the 70's this really is a dive bar in it's truest form. If you can stand the smoke, this is great stop, if not avoid it like the plague."

She thought ahead and brought us a booster and a kids menu. We were seated on the patio which was nicely covered with fans as well! Our waitress was thoughtful and while taking our drink order asked if we wanted our son's food to be put in first. Service was amazing. The food was ordered quickly and came out hot and fresh. Throughout our meal we had many check-in's from all our server. We will be coming back again soon!"

Heather M. "I've heard of this place and drove by it a few times. I never really had a desire to come here but after seeing specials on their Facebook page I decided to come here. This place is located near a busy street and some neighborhoods. Parking was no issue at the time I went which was late morning/early afternoon. I walk in and it's a little busy but not too bad. There are tables throughout the place and it looks like there is plenty of bar seating w/o tables being pushed up to them. That should end soon. The place was clean and well kept. It wasn't very long before I was waited on and I ordered their taco Tuesday special. I was told of the different flavors of chicken but, I just went with grilled chicken, and I ordered a steak taco as well and a $3 Margarita. They had regular, strawberry and mango frozen or on the rocks. I ordered a frozen Mango to start off with and it tasted just like mango. I got my tacos a short time later. I told Marsha who was behind the bar that I may order more tacos if I liked these and she was perfectly ok with it. I got my tacos w/o Pico and slaw. It just had shredded cheese and some kind of sauce. Both tacos were good but, I liked the chicken better so I ordered 2 more chicken tacos. They were only $1.49 a piece for dine in only. I also got a strawberry Margarita in the rocks, it was good but I think I would have liked it better frozen. Marsha was just wonderful my whole visit. I could tell she knew everyone else but me because she asked if I have ever been there before, I hadn't but was glad to try a new place. I can tell it's a neighborhood bar because she knew everyone and everyone knew everyone else. I really do want to come back and try their other food like their pizza they have advertised up front in the parking lot. I also saw a pizza cheeseburger that I want to try next time. I thank Marsha for my wonderful first experience in the place. I do look forward to coming back here whether it's on taco Tuesday or a different day."

I did not need anything else, that sunny side up egg was runny and pure perfection. The place is very relaxed, you come in and find a place to seat. Make sure the server knows you arrived as there are areas not fully visible to her. The sides, I really enjoyed the fried Cauliflower side. The Cole slaw was my first time trying a vinegar based one and it was great bc I enjoyed how healthy it is. There are many other choices to try, the 2x1 promotion is only on burgers and it is daily 5pm to 7pm and ABSOLUTELY worth it! Big meat patty and plenty of bacon on them! Great parking space, good location and to top it all off, Tuesdays is free open mic comedy club in the back which is great for a laugh post dinner. Or you can take your dinner and eat it there. The place is not fancy, actually a little dated, but clean and welcoming. There is a full bar with photos of the regulars hanging around. Electronic games, a jukebox, an atm, tv monitors and more are scattered around the various rooms of dining tables. Country music fills the air.Our servers were friendly and attentive. The food took about 15 minutes to prep and appear at our table. The servers checked on us frequently. We ordered breaded tenderloin sandwiches with onion rings. One of the servers told us that the pork was locally sourced and hand battered. Other regulars, next to us, recommended the onion rings as a side. The tenderloin was not pounded thin, but thick and juicy. The breading was light and flavorful. The bun did not hold up well, but it was fresh. The onion rings were amazing. The helping was generous and the breading was a light beer batter. It was a great meal made with local ingredients. The building is smoke free, but there is a patio that appears to allow smoking behind the main building. The rest rooms were super clean. There is street parking and and plenty of parking behind the building."

I've been several times over the years and always had delicious food but the latest was way above expectations. I was hesitant to get the brisket pho for brunch at first but wow was I happy with my choice. This dish was expertly created with their fall-apart melt in your mouth brisket, a fried egg and a toasted bagel to top it off. Some of the typical pho toppings like bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalapeños, made this dish taste quite familiar, yet having this brunch version was interesting. I love the take on one of my favorite Asian dishes and had never seen it brunchetized before. I would highly recommend to any pho lovers who are open to a unique take on this Vietnamese cuisine to give this a try."

So long in fact that we skipped the appetizers and moved ahead with ordering meals. However, once we got started the food came out quickly and we only had to hunt down one person's meal.I opted for the street tacos, picking chicken and pork. Delicious! And not overdone on the toppings, which I appreciated so that it didn't take away from the meat. We also loved the side of fries - and there's plenty to share. Kevin D. "#15/2022Still 24 hours even through covid only closed on Christmas Day. easily accessible from interstate 65 at the Seymour exit 50.Next to what I like to call the (economy motels)Use your own visualization LOL.Been here for over 40 years originally was called a waffle house no affiliation and they changed it to the sunshine cafe.Your classic old school roadside greasy spoon. While at night time it could be a little scenic around here LOL one thing you definitely hasn't changed as you will not leave hungry.I was coming up 65 headed down towards Louisville to go east and my belly started rumbling and I thought you know it's got to be at least 10 years since I hit this place off so I thought let me go into the old rickety gravel parking lot and make my way around to the truck area and go in and strap on the feedbag.Walking in it was slam parked they do an unbelievable business still very big with the locals along with the travelers. It definitely shows its age which is a good sign to me nothing like a good rundown Cafe but the slam packed people and the smiles on the faces that you're getting some good grub here.So I sat down I could see that slammed they were the table was dirty I didn't care I just patiently waited for the server to bring the menu and the clean the table off no big deal you can't always clean it during peak hours when you want to.Ordered up some coffee began to peruse the menu. First thing they notice even though it's not owned by Greeks they have the Greek influence it's got everything under the sun and every kind of variety you can want. After looking at another person's plate I saw he was eating steak and eggs and boy did it look good I said I want me some steak and eggs too LOL. So I ordered them up medium over medium for the eggs and I asked if they're hash browns were the kind that were little cubed and thrown into the fryer like french fries or if they were the old sliced potatoes on the grill which they were. Went with wheat toast.Food came out fairly quickly fantastic with a capital F. The reason for the full bar of stars across the board the quality of the food. The ribeye was a boneless rib eye cooked perfectly the eggs were great the home fries were just phenomenal nice big chunks with the skin on them fried on the grill just perfect.I cleaned the plate and then someI decided I'm definitely going to be hitting this place up a lot more hopefully it's going to be as good next time too I come down 65 constantly it seems always between Indianapolis to Louisville either coming south or headed east and I'm definitely going to be making this a local stop for breakfast or even dinner that looks pretty good too.My kind good options for the sides too cottage cheese is always a plus for me hard to find a lot of places anymore but they got it.All in all for an old rundown Cafe it's definitely worth the time and the money the quality of the food is all that really matters to me I could deal with a little dirty floor that's no big deal.Check if you're making your way down 65 an hour north of Louisville hour South of Indy right smack in the middle in Seymour stop on in and fill up your belly."

Peter M. "Another Great Restaurant in Downtown Owensboro !!!I had heard about Colby's and always wanted to try it. I finally had an extra night in which I had the opportunity to try Colby's and went there for dinner. Colby's has been around since 1987 and is a staple in Owensboro. Their menu has many comfort foods, American Classics, Bourbons, Cocktails, some craft beers and a whole lot more. On my visit, I tried 3 dishes and a 'Wheat' Bourbin from a local distillery. First up was a glass of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon which set the course for my meal. My first choice of the evening was Colby's Classic Shrimp Louisianne which was Six large shrimp sautéed in cajun butter and served sizzling hot in a skillet with a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. The shrimp were plump, juicy and full of flavour and a great starter. Next up was Colby's take on New Orleans Gumbo made with a blend of shrimp, scallops, chicken, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and rice. The 'cup' size was almost a meal itself with big chunks of andouille sausage and a palatable spice level. For my main course, I had the 8oz center-cut aged filet mignon served medium-rare with sides of mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sauteed mushrooms and veggies. The streak was a little overcooked but tender enough to be able to enjoy. The servers and the food were really good and I see why people flock to Colby's after all these years. Another great place to try when you are in the Owensboro area."
