Wow! Had a fun time here tasting some delicious new bourbon! The host was gracious, polite, and very entertaining! We got a lot of the interesting history of the site along with the history of the company, and future plans to include a cool tour on the property! Too bad we missed that, but it is a reason to come back! Had a great time here!

Elkwood farm is the new home of Bluegrass Distillers. It is located in beautiful rolling hills outside the picturesque town of Midway. The farm has a mansion from built in the 1830's. There are big plans for this property including a cafe and gardens. Right now the distillery is getting finishing touches and the mansion is being refurbished. Scott, our tasting guide did an exceptional job of giving us the history of the property and of Bluegrass bourbons. Definitely worth a stop.

Attended the Bluegrass Trust July D'tour last night. It is likely you've passed this historical property while traveling Leestown Road, not knowing it is there. Elkwood Farm, circa mid 1830's, is now the home of Bluegrass Distillers. A sojourn into Kentucky history, I recommend a visit. 57

We have been to Bluegrass several times at their original location and always had a great experience. We were excited today to visit the new location. We were greeted by a sign saying they were out on a tour and to go to the gift shop. We found our way to the gift shop not knowing where we were going at this new location on a cold day. We found the gift shop and it was empty. We waited 15 minutes sitting at the bar as we could hear people in the distillery. When a gentleman finally came in with 2 people on the tour he looked upset that the 6 people in our group were sitting there. He did not want to help us with a cocktail, tasting or merchandise purchase so we left. Very disappointing from a place we have always loved.
