What a great visit tonight to the Springdale Blue Ash Chili. The service was as usual very good. They had a couple of newer items on their menu that they were featuring. One was Nashville Way for their chili. As explained to us by the waitress, it is a blend of spices they have created to replicate the Nashville hot chicken taste that they mix the spaghetti with. They then top it with their chili &!their habanero cheese. WOW! Loved it - heat & unique flavor!!!They also have a line of new milkshakes. My friends I was with and Ali ( the manager) conspired & surprised me with the Maple Bacon one. It was huge with strips of bacon & a waffle sticking out the top of a vanilla maple milkshake.... Crazy good!!!A side note - I watched Ali work the room and she was great with the customers. I would hire her if I was still running a customer service business.

I tried several of the local shops decades ago, but don't get down here often (well, I do, for family events, so we cook and eat at home.) And while I like Cinci chili, Skyline is a poor substitute. Of the chains I prefer Gold Star, but can't even get to that easily. This time in town I had a chance to get lunch and wanted chili, but had Kid K along so they had to have more options for kids than chili and coneys. Blue Ash is a bit more upscale (though not fancy) and had several options for kids, and was on our route. Just a strip mall store, but inside it's fairly big, and the menu is huge. I saw goetta and biscuits and hey, goetta's a Cinci specialty too. I got a coney on the side, and of course the chili is almost hidden under cheese and on top of the bun. It did taste good when I could get some on its own, and contributed to a decent coney. The biscuits and gravy... oh my. Flaky and tender biscuits that still held up well to gravy, with bits of goetta in it and a crispy goetta layer on top. Excellent gravy, tasty goetta, perfect biscuits- get this.K had mac and really liked it, but be aware it comes out steaming hot in a porcelain bowl that could scorch fingers. She also got fries and liked them. Oh, and an Oreo shake that she loved.Excellent service, from several people. They brought a coloring placemat and crayons. Checked up on us often.Tempting dessert case. Prices are a little high, but what isn't these days? We left stuffed and satisfied. I've made goetta, and sausage gravy, so this would be easy to replicate at home. But I would never have thought to put the two together.Wish there was one in Columbus.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. On a business trip to Cincinnati, we heard about the the hype associated with the Cincy Chili of the area.A group of us decided to go have a taste of this special chili recipe. Verdict: the chili dogs were enjoyed with added mustard. The chili 4-way, not so much. The chili recipe has the unique flavors provided by the addition of nutmeg, cinnamon and chocolate mixed in with the ground beef, cheese and beans. Adding onions is the 4th topping giving it the "4-way" name. The concoction is served over spaghetti. It was an unusual flavor combination that stays with you. Not a dish for me or my friends who also tried it, but as I wrote, when in Rome...I would describe the flavor as really bad-tasting Indian curry. We opted to get Graeter ice cream afterwards to help get the lingering flavor out of our mouths. Now that place was worth it and deserves recognition for being a local favorite. All in all, give it a try if you really want something you won't find elsewhere- the other known brand in the area is Skyline Chili. You can find this one in terminal B of the Cincinnati airport...for me, I'm good with just one try of the dish. Service was friendly and the place was busy with customers.

Tried the Nashville hot 4 way. It had spices on the spaghetti and had some habanero cheese with cheddar. It was good but coming here at different times I've noticed you have to get the ways wet. You have more spaghetti and it tends to be dry. I keep forgetting to ask for wet but I still like their chili and coneys. I've ventured to a double decker sometime and that is where you get a meal.

Everything about this eatery is good. It's a bit questionable from the outside but you are transported to a pretty sweet diner feel as you walk in. This place is tidy! It's all so clean. The folks working here are super friendly. The menu is absolutely crazy with all the various options from breakfast to dinner served all day. We get our food rather quickly & hot off the grill considering how busy they are this is impressive! There were three of us and we all got to try each others dishes and they were all incredible but the winner to me was the chopped Italian(hot). I lived the geotta biscuits and gravy that were quite tasty but the Italian was incredible. The bread was so soft and the amount of meat, veggies and oil/vinegar/seasoning just made this something I'll drive the 30mins back to have again! If you have not ever been here, give it a try. If you have a picky eater, the menu seems to have something for everybody. Give it a try, thank me later.

Blue Ash Chili is a must visit if you're in town visiting Cincy.. and it is already a staple for many if you live here. I know the name seems as if it's just Chili- but the menu is huge! Not as huge as the double deckers though. Plenty to share but you won't want to! My current favorite is Turkey, boiled egg & bacon with lettuce onion & tomato. It's tradition that no matter what sandwiches we get- we will always order a few coneys to share. The service is always great- and so fast. We often order it for carry out- it's always right and just as good as eating it at the restaurant. The newer location is nice- my mom and grandma sometimes miss the old location because of the memories but think they did a great job of holding onto some of the old charm.

Went here for the first time with hubby & in-laws. We were seated immediately & the server took our drink order. My brother-in-law & I both got the Cincy Taco Week special (3 birria tacos). Hubby ordered one coney dog & a chili mac & cheese. My mother-in-law got the fish sandwich. We all liked the food. I tasted hubby's chili & it was pretty good. I asked if the coney dogs were 100% beef & was told they were not. The server took good care of us. There is a lot of variety on the menu, including breakfast so we'd like to return to try other items.

The food was great and came out quickly. Ordered a grilled cheese with goetta and tomato(my own creation). Delicious and very Cincinnati. Onion rings were crispy and sweet. Great service. They knew my mom as she used to come here a lot with my dad. Diner feel, which I love. Would eat again.

Killer Double Decker Sandwiches? Yup. Fantastic Salads? Got em'! Desserts for here or to go? Take one of each if you can't make up your mind!I've been a Blue Ash Chili fan for a long time. Still shocked that the Mason location closed. But, not too far away, you'll find one right across from the Tri-County Ghost Town. If you are craving a good "BIG Salad", look no further. Order one of these and I dare you to dig your way out. But the Double-Deckers........now that's where they get ya'. The BLT Double Deck is like no other you have ever had. There is one thing to be wary of - High blood pressure. That's right. If you're monitoring your sodium intake, you may want to double up on your meds. Blue Ash Chili does not mess around when it comes to their bacon helpings. Everything is fresh and you can taste it. The staff is always outstanding. It is truly a clean old-school diner feel type of place with great food."But Jason H.... what about that fifth star?" Great question, nobody in particular. I was just about to get that. I don't dole out the fifth star for just anything and everything. It's hard for me to dish out. In the case of Blue Ash Chili, everything is five star all the way. You will never be disappointed. But, at the end of all of that goodness, you will get the bill. You will possibly be shocked by that bill. Now that's when I ask myself- "am I getting what I pay for here?" Technically, I would have to say "yes", but the prices are kind of high and you should be aware of that. I'm NOT saying it's not worth it, but a bill for a family of 3 to 5 can be a bit shocking at first. In summary, I wouldn't call it a "value" but I would push to say that it's "worth it".Would I go back? Against my cardiologist's recommendations, yes, I do come here several times a year. Because it's delicious and the best sandwich shop / diner around!

Fantastic spot! We always get some Ohio-style chili when in Cincinnati. Blue Ash had a nice family-run feel and we're happy to have us as guests. They kick things up a notch from the big name place by having a 6-way, which adds jalapeños. So good!
