The Bit And Bridle is a cafeteria style restaurant located next to the Visitor's Center of the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. I will say we had visited the Kentucky Horse Park several times before we actually found the Bit and Bridle. I wish we had found it sooner. It is not fancy but serves a wide variety of food in a cool and restful place. When visiting the Kentucky Horse Park you can get hot and tired. They have several refreshing salads on the menu along with burgers and chicken fingers. There were several sandwiches listed too. You can order on a video with touch screen which is nice. It is easy to add or subtract things from your order. The prices were pretty reasonable. The portions were large. I had the pecan chicken salad with strawberries. It was very good. This is a nice option to eating outside in the Kentucky Horse Park when the weather is hot.

Great made to order food!! The chicken tenders are great! Burgers and specials are phenomenal as well! Food comes out quick and fast! The staff is excellent and professional, I learned that the staff are all culinary trained by some of the best culinary schools. Whether your visiting the horse Park or not it's a great place to come and enjoy a lunch with friends! Happy eating!!

I can not believe I didn't know about this place! A salad bar 5 miles from my house?!? I feel like an archeologist! What a gem. We took a staycation, or sort of a test run to break in our new popup camper. We were camping over at the Horse Park Campground and decided to head out for brunch. Not knowing which HP restaurant we would choose, we stopped at the first one that we noticed. This is one of three restaurant or cafe options on location at the Horse Park. The parking lot is sort of at the back of the restaurant. It's not clearly marked, so maybe I missed signage on the outside. I will admit that the decor and atmosphere is a bit dated, but the food options outweigh that factor, in my opinion. You order at the front, near the salad bar. The fully stocked salad bar, I might add. You can either order or fill your selection by a small bowl or by the plate. There was too many items for me to list, so here is some of what I put on my plate: mushrooms, celery and carrot sticks, cubed and shredded cheese. I piled it high. I promise you that I got my $6.75 worth. One thing to keep in mind, are the 10am-3pm hours. For me, this experience was at the right place at the right time.

Friends and I visited the Horse Park in the first week of April, and stopped at the Bit and Bridle for lunch. What a disappointment, and embarrassing for me as the friends were visiting the park for the first time. The restaurant was unheated, except for one space heater parked near the entrance, so the ambient temperature inside was probably in the high 50's to low 60's F. The food service was terribly slow, in fact, it seemed that one order had been forgotten, but it finally arrived after a very long wait. The food was forgettable.I also noticed that the bathroom sink water was hot to the point of steaming, even though the handle was only in a "warm" position and not all the way over to hot. I certainly hope that these issues are addressed.

Cafe style, the food was good and lacked any kind of warmth. Could have been decorated better.

Look at the menu and Immediately pay on your way in with 25 people standing in line. Dining room and bathrooms are filthy. A cafeteria without the fine selection nor charming ambiance.
